Fundraiser planned for displaced Leland House residents as tenants wait for answers - Detroit Metro Times

omg u guys i cant even lol they're raising money 4 these ppl who lost their home cuz of a power outage its wild that the building's future is uncertain rn like what even is gonna happen 2 them??? they gotta move out or somethin' but dont wanna leave cuz it's their home & they got their fam & stuff there Daryl Stewart said it was like bein in another world out here lol i feel u bro

and yeah its emotional too 4 these ppl its not just about the $$$ tho its about showin support 4 each other & stickin together thru the tough times we gotta do this 4 our community!!! 🎉💖🕺

man this is so sad 🤕 i feel bad for these people who got evicted from their home they're not just losing a place to live but also a community that's been there for them since 2012 it's like being stuck in limbo without knowing what's next 🔄 and the fact that some of them are having to stay at an expensive hotel because the city is footing the bill is just not right 💸 they deserve better. the fundraiser is a good idea but it should've happened sooner ⏱️ maybe if more people knew about this situation it could've made a bigger impact 🤝 anyway, kudos to Daryl Stewart for speaking out and keeping everyone's spirits up 💕

🤝 The thing is, when something like this happens, it's not just about throwing money at the problem, you gotta think about what's gonna happen after the initial relief ends too 🤑. I mean, if some people are stuck living in hotels for months on end, that's a huge burden on the system and on their own lives 😓. We should be supporting these residents not just with financial help but also finding ways to keep them connected to their community and the building they love ❤️.

Ugh, I'm so sad for those ppl stuck in the Leland House without heat or electricity 🤕💔 they deserve our help & support! It's crazy that someone can just auction off their building like it's nothing 🤑😡 The fact that the city is footing the bill for the displaced residents' hotel rooms is already a huge burden on taxpaying citizens. Let's all pitch in this Friday and show these ppl we care 💖🎉

man i feel so bad 4 these ppl livin without heat n electricity 4 so long its crazy how somethin can affect u life like that 27 ppl stuck at 1 hotel room its not right hope this fundraiser brings in some serious cash 4 the ppl who r countin on it

omg i just got my heating bill like yesterday 🤯 and its like 300 bucks lol how am i supposed to live without electricity? anyway back to this news... i feel so bad for these ppl who lost their home they deserve way more than $10-20 donations idk if the building is gonna be sold or what tho maybe the city can just fix it instead of selling it but yeah its good that people are coming together 🤝
