Google has just introduced a new feature called Gemini in its calendar tool that's set to make scheduling meetings significantly smoother. With this innovative addition, users can avoid the frustration of repeatedly rescheduling meetings due to conflicting attendee availability.
The feature works by suggesting potential time slots for meetings based on attendees' marked calendars and upcoming conflicts. When creating or sending a meeting invite, users simply click the "Suggested times" option, allowing Gemini to present them with a list of suitable time slots. However, this isn't a guarantee that all parties will be available β if multiple individuals decline the invite, a reschedule option becomes available.
One thing to note is that this feature requires organizers to have access to attendees' calendars, and it's only accessible to paid users on specific Google Workspace plans, including Business Standard and Plus, Enterprise Standard and Plus, and those with the Google AI Pro for Education add-on. The new Gemini feature has begun rolling out to Rapid Release domains and will expand to Scheduled Release domains on February 2.
