Google’s updated Veo model can make vertical videos from reference images with 4K upscaling

Google has unveiled an updated version of its Veo video AI model, which can now create vertical videos from reference images with 4K upscaling. The new capabilities are part of the Ingredient to Video feature, allowing users to provide three images for the AI to incorporate into generated video content.

The model's fidelity has improved significantly since last year, and it is expected that the updated version will result in more consistent output and fewer random alterations. Users can also generate multiple clips and make changes to settings or style while keeping other elements consistent.

Additionally, Google has expanded its support for mobile-first video in Veo, enabling users to specify outputs in a 9:16 (vertical) ratio. This makes it ideal for posting on social apps like Instagram or TikTok and uploading as YouTube Shorts.

The new Veo 3.1 update also includes enhanced support for Ingredient to Video and vertical outputs, which are now live in the Gemini app today, alongside YouTube Shorts and the YouTube Create app. The updated model supports higher-resolution video, including 1080p and 4K outputs, although it is worth noting that these formats are not native to Veo.

The enhancements mark a significant leap forward for Google's AI video capabilities, which are at the forefront of the rapidly evolving world of online video.

I'm loving this new update in Veo 🤩! Creating vertical videos from reference images with 4K upscaling is a total game-changer for content creators and marketers looking to level up their social media strategy 📈. The fact that users can generate multiple clips, make changes to settings or style while keeping other elements consistent, is super convenient and helps save time 🕒.

I'm also stoked about the expanded support for mobile-first video in Veo - 9:16 ratio is a great feature for posting on Instagram or TikTok, and it's awesome that users can now specify outputs like this 📱. It's amazing to see Google's AI video capabilities advancing so quickly, and I'm excited to see what other features they have in store 💻.

The fact that the updated model supports higher-resolution video is also a big deal - 1080p and 4K outputs are going to look stunning on screens 📺. And with the enhancements now live in the Gemini app, YouTube Shorts, and YouTube Create app, it's easy to get started and start creating amazing content 🔥

I'm stoked about this update, tbh 🤩! I remember when vertical videos were all the rage, and now it's like they're mainstream or something. 4K upscaling is also a game-changer, I mean, who doesn't love watching vids in high def on their phone? 💻 It's gonna make creating content so much easier for creators, and I'm hyped to see what they come up with using this new feature. And, omg, having multiple clips and being able to change settings without messing it up is a total win! 🙌

I'm loving this new update on Google's Veo! 🤩 It's like they're getting closer to making those crazy vertical videos look super realistic. I mean, who doesn't love watching 4K vids in a vertical format? 💻 I've been experimenting with it and the output is actually pretty good, especially when you add your own images as references. The fact that you can generate multiple clips and play around with settings without messing up the rest of the video is genius! 🤓 It's like having your own personal video editor at your fingertips. And I'm stoked they're supporting 1080p and 4K outputs, even if it's not native to Veo itself. The future of online vids is looking bright, and I'm excited to see where this tech takes us! 🚀

omg can u believe google just dropped an updated version of veo and its literally changing the game 🤯!! they added this new ingredient to video feature that lets you input 3 images and it'll create a sick vertical vid with 4k upscaling 💥 i was skeptical at first but after trying it out, it's like magic ✨ now we can make vids for tiktok and instagram in 9:16 ratio without having to edit them later 🤩 the model's fidelity has improved so much since last year too, less random alterations and more consistent output 👍 overall, google just took video creation to a whole new level 💪

omg I'm so excited about this new veo update! 🤩 I was wondering how they were gonna make videos look better and now they can do 4k upscaling from just pictures? that's insane! 🤯 but I'm also kinda confused, what is a vertical video anyway? is it like when you watch instagram vids? lol I always thought those were just really short clips 😂

OMG 🤯 I'm so stoked about this update! I mean, who doesn't love making sick vertical vids? 📸👀 It's all about capturing those Instagram-worthy moments and sharing them with our friends 🤩. The fact that Google is pushing the boundaries of AI video creation is super inspiring, you know? 💡 Their new model is like a game-changer for creators and small business owners who wanna make some content go viral 🚀. And can we talk about how convenient it is to get multiple clips and tweak settings without messing up the whole vibe? 😂 It's all about simplicity and ease of use, which is what I'm all about when it comes to wellness... err, I mean, video editing 😉.

I'm loving this new feature in Veo! I've been using it for YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels and it's so easy to create those vertical videos that everyone's obsessed with 📱💻. The fact that Google is now supporting 4K upscaling and higher resolutions is a total game-changer. I'm excited to see what kind of crazy video content creators come up with using this new model! 😎 It's like they're saying, "Hey, AI, can you make me a sick vertical video with some dope transitions?" 🤩

idk why google needs to keep updating this thing... like, can't they just leave it alone? 🤷‍♂️ but i guess that's not how tech works. so now they're making videos go vertical and whatnot. 4K upscaling is cool, i suppose, but who uses a reference image for their vids anyway? anyway, it's nice that the output is gonna be more consistent now. less random stuff like... *cough* last year's model 🤪

Just used this new feature in Veo and I'm loving it! 🤩 The 4K upscaling is insane and the fact that you can create vertical videos from reference images is so cool! It's like having a mini movie studio in your hands 😎. I was skeptical at first about using AI to generate video content, but this thing is surprisingly good 🤔. Can't wait to experiment with it more and see what kind of crazy vids I can come up with 📹💥

I'm kinda thinkin' this updated Veo model is just gonna be super popular among social media creators 🤔📸. I mean, who doesn't wanna create sick vertical vids for Instagram and TikTok? But here's the thing - I'm worried it's gonna get lost in the sea of algorithm changes and trends 🔥. Will people even need to use this tool once everyone's got a smartphone that can record 4K vids already? 🤷‍♂️

Ugh, can you believe it? 🤯 They just dropped an update to Veo and now everyone's gonna be churning out those Instagram Reels and TikTok vids like they're going outta style. I mean, who needs a break from the algorithm when you've got AI-powered video generation, right? 😒 Mark my words, this is just gonna lead to more content creation and less meaningful human interaction on the internet... 🤖 Anyway, at least it's getting better at making videos that don't look like they were made by a 5-year-old, I guess. 🎥

I think its crazy how far Google has come with their Veo video model 🤯! Creating vertical videos from reference images with 4K upscaling is like something straight out of a sci-fi movie 😲. And I'm loving that users can now generate multiple clips and make changes to settings or style while keeping other elements consistent, it's so much more flexible than before 💻.

The fact that they've expanded support for mobile-first video in Veo is also super useful, especially with the rise of social apps like Instagram and TikTok 📸. I can already imagine creators using this tool to make some insane vertical videos and blowing up their followers! 👍

Wow! 🤯 This is crazy! Like, who needs 3 images and the AI creates a video? 😲 That's so cool! And now it can upscale to 4K too? That's insane! Interesting... how are they gonna use this tech in real life? Like, social media vids and stuff...

I'm thinking what a game changer this new Veo update is! 🤩 I mean, creating vertical videos from reference images with 4K upscaling? That's like having a superpower, right? And the fact that it's getting better and more consistent every year, that's just awesome.

It's so cool how you can provide three images for the AI to work with and still get these insane results. I've been experimenting with this stuff in my free time, and let me tell you, it's a whole new world. The possibilities are endless! Can't wait to see what other updates Google has up its sleeve. 💥

🤩 I'm so stoked about this new update from Google! The idea that you can just provide three images and let the AI create a sick vertical video is literally a game-changer 📹. And now, they're making it even more seamless with the 9:16 ratio support - perfect for Instagram and TikTok vids! 💻 I mean, who wouldn't want to try out this updated model? The fact that it's getting better at consistency and less random is super cool. Can't wait to see what kind of crazy vids people come up with now 🤔

📹 just had a sec to check out the new Veo update from google and i'm kinda excited about this vertical video thingy... like how can an ai model take 3 pics and turn them into a sick vid? 🤯 anyway, its cool that they're pushing mobile-first vids now too, been saying we need more vertical content for socials 📱💻

You know what's wild about this new Veo update? It just goes to show how the tech giants are trying to shape our content creation landscape. I mean, think about it - they're pushing for vertical videos, specifically designed for social apps like Instagram and TikTok 📈. Is that a move to control how we consume video content? Or is it just a clever business strategy?

On one hand, I get why they want to support mobile-first video; our lives are increasingly on our phones. But it also raises questions about the role of tech companies in shaping our online experiences. Are they trying to squeeze more ad revenue out of us by making videos more Instagram-friendly? 🤔 Meanwhile, Google's AI capabilities are getting more advanced - is that a power play against other AI innovators like OpenAI or Facebook? The lines between creativity and control are blurring, and it'll be interesting to see how this all plays out 💻

omg 🤯 i'm loving this new update in veo!!! they've really stepped up their game with the vertical vids and 4k upscaling 💥 now we can make our vids look super pro and on-point for all the social apps like insta & tiktok 👍 plus, being able to keep elements consistent across multiple clips is a total game-changer 🎉 it's amazing how much of a difference this new model makes - no more wonky vids or random edits 😂 can't wait to try it out and create some fire content! 💪
