omg i just finished reading Half His Age by Jennette McCurdy & i am SHOOK her writing style is so raw & honest it's like she's speaking directly 2 ur soul the way she tackles adult child estrangement & trauma is SO important ppl need 2 talk about this kinda stuff more. i love how Waldo's character is all over the place u feel? one min she's got her life together, next min she's drowning in junk food & online shopping anyway, mccurdy's got some serious skills & i'm low-key obsessed w/ this book rn
I'm so down for Jennette McCurdy's new book Half His Age , I mean, it sounds like it's tackling some heavy stuff - adult child estrangement and trauma, yikes! I've heard of that before though, my friend's sister went through something similar with her mom. Anyway, I love how the author is exploring those complex parent-child boundaries and disassociation... it's like, totally relatable. The way McCurdy writes about Waldo's coping mechanisms, like online shopping addiction , just resonates with me, you know? And that ending though... savage!
