Harlequins 54-10 Stormers: Quins seal last-16 spot in Investec Champions Cup

Harlequins' dominant 54-10 thrashing of Stormers has handed them a vital spot in the Investec Champions Cup last 16, with the London outfit now second in their pool.

Nick David's hat-trick was the icing on the cake for the hosts, as they rediscovered their free-flowing attacking style. Flanker Jack Kenningham and centre Cadan Murley both crossed early to set the tone, before number eight Alex Dombrandt and prop Chandler Cunningham-South added to the scoreboard.

David would go on to score three tries, with a further two finishes from scrum-half Lucas Friday-assisted effort by Zach Carr. The attack was well-organised and clinical, with prop Luke Northmore chipping in with an early try for Marcus Smith's chip-kick.

In stark contrast, Stormers were limited to just five first-half tries, with Dylan Maart and Imad Khan securing the visitors' only points before halftime. Stormers had opted against playing a number of their Springbok stars due to injury concerns, which may have contributed to their struggles on the pitch.

Harlequins will now seal a home knockout tie in the next round with a bonus-point win over La Rochelle, while Stormers host Leicester Tigers on Saturday and will need a victory to secure a last-16 spot.

For Harlequins, this emphatic victory has been a welcome distraction from their recent form issues. They have endured a tough season, winning just four times in the past 15 matches across all competitions. However, with European Rugby's competition format allowing for multiple chances at success, they remain hopeful of making it to the semi-finals.

The teams will now look forward to their next European outings, with Harlequins set to face La Rochelle and Stormers hosting Leicester Tigers in the coming weeks.

OMG 🤩 I'm literally so hyped for this new season! I mean, Harlequins totally dominated that game 🎯 and now they're looking super strong for the last 16 spot! Their attack was on point 😍 and Nick David's hat-trick was amazing 🔥. But you know what would've made it even better? If they'd won by a bigger margin, haha 😅. Anyway, I'm loving how European Rugby is giving teams multiple chances to shine 🌟. It's not always easy for them, but Harlequins are really showing promise this season 💪. Can't wait to see what happens next! 👀

just saw harlequins absolutely annihilate stormers 54-10 what a game!!! Nick David's hat-trick was insane ⚡️! I'm loving their new free-flowing attacking style, it's so refreshing to watch 🌟! Stormers didn't stand a chance with those injuries affecting some of their key players 🤕. Harlequins are now looking more confident than ever and making a strong case for the semi-finals 🏆! This is just what they needed after a tough season, can't wait to see how they do against la rochelle next ⚽

OMG, what a huge win for Harlequins 🤯! I mean, 54-10 is just ridiculous 😂. They really showed off their skills out there on the pitch and it's awesome to see them rediscover their attacking style ⚡️. For Harlequins, this is a major confidence boost, especially after struggling with form recently 🤔. But European Rugby has always been like that - one win at a time 😅. I'm keeping an eye on La Rochelle now, not sure how they'll handle the pressure 🤦‍♂️. And Stormers' decision to sit out some big names due to injury... yeah, that's gonna be tough for them 💔. Still, these playoffs are gonna be intense 🔥!

I'm loving this Investec Champions Cup stuff so far! 🏉🔥 The way Harlequins just tore it up against the Stormers was insane... 54-10 is a massive win, you feel me? 😅 And that Nick David hat-trick was pure class. I'm not surprised he finally found his form now. On the other hand, sorry to see the Stormers go down - all those Springbok stars out injured must've made it tough for them. 🤕 Do think Harlequins have what it takes to make the semi-finals though? They've had a rough season, but this win's given 'em some much-needed momentum 💪

Man I'm loving this Champions Cup action! 🏉 It's like the Investec Rugby League is all about who can adapt quickly to stay on top - you know how it is, just like the UK politics 🤣! Harlequins really showed their mettle with that dominant performance against Stormers. I mean, that Nick David hat-trick was pure magic 💫! And let's not forget the fact that they're now looking to seal a home knockout tie, which is all about confidence and momentum... kinda like how some parties build their campaign on certain issues 🤔!

But what really got my attention is the Stormers' decision to sit out some of their key players due to injury concerns. That's like playing politics with your team's strength - you gotta be strategic about who you're holding back or pushing forward 🙏! Meanwhile, Harlequins have got this attacking flair that just can't be taught, kind of like how a certain party excels at spin doctoring 😂!

Anyway, I'm hyped for the next match-ups - La Rochelle vs Harlequins and Leicester Tigers vs Stormers are gonna be epic battles! 🤩 Can't wait to see which team comes out on top!

🤔 I'm so sick of these forum threads being all about the latest sports news... Like, can't we talk about something else for once? 🙄 And don't even get me started on how outdated these comment sections are – no one uses the 'quote' feature anymore! 🚮 Anyway, Harlequins totally smashed it against Stormers, nice to see them finally getting their act together. But can someone explain to me why we're still reading about rugby all the time? Can't we get some decent updates on social media or something? 😴

I'm loving how Harlequins are firing on all cylinders right now! They definitely need this win to boost their confidence after a tough season 🤩. The attack was so clinical, it's like they've rediscovered their mojo 😎. And that hat-trick from Nick David? Unbeatable! I'm not surprised they're now second in the pool, but still, it's an impressive turnaround for them 🤯. On the other hand, the Stormers are just unlucky with injuries and it's harsh to see them struggle like this 😔. Guess we'll have to wait and see how the rest of their season pans out 🤞

I'm loving how Harlequins have just clicked into gear! I mean, they've been struggling a bit recently, but this win's got them feeling like their old selves again 😊. It's great to see them rediscovering that attacking flair – it's what makes rugby so exciting, right? And I feel bad for Stormers, having to deal with those injury concerns and then getting thrashed 54-10. Not a great way to get back on track after the international break 🤕. On the bright side, Harlequins are now in a good position to make some noise in the Champions Cup – let's see them take it from here! 💪

just watched that harlequins game 🤩🏉 and i'm loving how they're getting back into form! it's been a tough season for them but now they've got the momentum on their side 🔄💪, fingers crossed they can keep it up and make a deep run in the champions cup 🎉. la Rochelle is gonna be a tough test next, but harlequins are looking confident 💯🏆

I'm so glad to see Harlequins getting back on track after that tough season 🙌! I was worried they'd never get their form right, especially after those losses in the Premier 15s. But it's great to see them rediscover their attacking style and put on a show against Stormers 👏. That hat-trick from Nick David is pure magic ✨! And let's be real, who doesn't love a good bonus-point win? 😊 It's not just about the points, though - it shows the team's resilience and determination. Can't wait to see them take on La Rochelle next and hopefully make it all the way to the semis 🤞!

Ugh, what's really going on here? 🤔 They're saying the Springbok stars didn't play due to injuries, but I'm not buying it 🚫. I bet they just got a bunch of scapegoats ready and told them to sit out. It's all about control and manipulation, fam 💥. And what's with Harlequins' recent form issues? They're like the ultimate example of how the system is rigged against them 🙄. The Euro Rugby competition format is like a big game of whack-a-mole – they get one win, then another team comes along and knocks 'em down 😒. It's all just part of the master plan to keep them in their place 💪

I'm not really sure how the rugby teams keep track of all these points and wins 🤔. I mean, it seems like Harlequins just dominated the game 54-10 which is a huge margin! 👏 They played really well together as a team and scored some easy tries 🤩. On the other hand, Stormers were really struggling with injuries and couldn't get anything going 💔.

I think it's great that Harlequins are finally starting to look like their old self again after having some ups and downs this season 😅. And now they've got a good chance of making it to the semi-finals which would be amazing! 🎉 The European Rugby competition format is so cool because it gives teams multiple chances to shine ⭐️. Let's see how Harlequins and Stormers do in their next matches, will they keep their momentum going or will they have a slip-up? 😬

I gotta say, this win by Harlequins is like a breath of fresh air for them... they needed that kind of boost to turn things around, ya know? 🤔 It just goes to show that even when we're struggling, we've got the power to flip things around. I mean, think about it, they were down 10-5 at one point and still managed to dominate the game! 💪 That's what happens when you believe in yourself and your team... nothing can stop you then. 🌟

I'm loving how Harlequins finally found their mojo back! 🎉 They played like a well-oiled machine out there, and that hat-trick from Nick David was just the cherry on top 💪. The question is, what's going on with these recent form issues? 😒 It's like they were stuck in neutral for ages, but then this Champions Cup win comes along and gives them a nice confidence boost 💨. Can't wait to see how it plays out with La Rochelle next... 👀 They need to keep this momentum going if they wanna make some noise in the playoffs 🎊.

idk why rugby fans still play this game lol 🤣 anyway harlequins played so sick they got that 2nd spot in pool 1 now gotta beat la rochelle next 💪 second place is a good spot, means less pressure next round 😊

omg i'm loving harlequins' attacking game right now!!! 🤩 they were so clinical & well-organised out there. i think they really needed a win like this, it's been a tough season for them but at least they're on the up now 😊. and nick david's hat-trick was insane! 💥 zac carr's assist too was pure gold 🤓 can't wait to see how they do against la rochelle next round 👀

OMG, I'm loving this win for the Quins!!! 🤩 They've finally found that form they've been chasing all season and it's amazing to see! That attacking style is just infectious 💥, I mean who doesn't love a good try fest? 😂 And on top of that, they're looking at a home knockout tie in the next round which would be a huge confidence boost for them. 🙌 Now let's hope they can keep this momentum going and make it to the semi-finals! 💪
