“I was foolish to spend time with him": Gates says he "regrets" associating with Epstein

Bill Gates Admits to Regrets Over Friendship with Jeffrey Epstein.

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has expressed regret over his association with convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, saying he was "foolish" for spending time with him. In an interview with Australian news outlet 9News, Gates described the allegations made by Epstein in a 2013 email as "false".

The email, which claimed that Gates had contracted an STD from unnamed Russian girls and asked for antibiotics to be given to his ex-wife Melinda French Gates "surreptitiously", has been denied by Gates' office. However, Gates acknowledged that he was mistaken for associating with Epstein and expressed remorse for the time spent with him.

Gates stated that he had never traveled to Epstein's residence in the U.S. Virgin Islands or had any involvement with the women and girls present on the island. He also claimed that Epstein's intention behind sending the email to himself was unclear, but implied that it may have been an attempt to attack him.

French Gates, Bill's ex-wife, has publicly urged her ex-husband to answer for his ties to Epstein, stating that those who knew more about their relationship should be held accountable. However, Gates maintained that he had "nothing to do" with Epstein's behavior and that the time spent with him was a "mistake".

The latest admission by Gates comes as new documents related to Epstein's case have been released, shedding light on his close relationships with powerful individuals.

🤔 I'm not surprised Bill Gates is talking about this now, it's about time someone from his circle spoke up. I remember all the people he was friends with back then, it's crazy how some of those friendships were so superficial. 🙄 Gates always comes off as super intelligent and responsible in public, but maybe we should dig deeper into his past to see if there are more skeletons hiding in the closet. 😏 The fact that Melinda French Gates is pushing for accountability from Bill makes total sense, he does owe her some answers. But at the same time, can't we all make mistakes? It's easy to get caught up in the social circle and lose sight of our own morals. Guess that's what happens when you're as influential as Bill Gates... 😐

I don't think Bill Gates is being too harsh on himself, considering how complex friendships can get. It's understandable that he wouldn't want to badmouth someone just because you associated with them at one point. Still, it would've been nice if Melinda French Gates had some more support from her ex-husband during this time 🤔

I feel bad for Bill Gates 🤕... I mean, who wouldn't regret hanging out with someone who's got such a shady rep? But you know what? I think it's awesome that he's owning up to his mistakes and taking responsibility. It takes a big person to do that! 😊 And let's be real, if anyone can turn around their "mistakes" and come out stronger on the other side, it's Bill Gates 💪. Plus, Melinda French Gates is giving him some serious encouragement 👫... I'm all for accountability, but I think we should also give each other a break every now and then 🤗.

omg bill gates is owning up to his friendship with epstein 🤦‍♂️ he cant just sweep it under the rug like that. i mean come on, you're one of the richest people in the world and you spend time with a pedophile? Gates' excuse about not knowing what was going on at epstein's island is whack lol. his wife melinda needs to give him some serious side-eye for this 🤯 she should be the one speaking out against him instead of saying he has nothing to do with epstein's behavior. still, gotta respect gates for owning up to it. maybe its a sign that he's trying to redeem himself?

🤔 I'm surprised he admitted this now... felt like he was gonna keep denying it forever. Guess you could say he finally woke up to the whole Epstein thing. Regrets are good, but how many people knew about Epstein's game and stayed silent? Should've been a lot more accountability back then. The email thing is still shady tho... hope Melinda French Gates gets some closure on this 👫💔

I mean, I'm not surprised to hear this from Bill Gates... 🤔 He's always been pretty tight-lipped about his personal life, right? But still, it's kinda weird that he's only coming forward now after all these years... and trying to spin it like he was just a victim of Epstein's crazy schemes 😒. I don't think we'll ever really know the full story here. I mean, Gates has always been known for being super driven and focused on his work, but this whole thing with Epstein just seems so... out of character for him 🤷‍♂️. Maybe he was just trying to protect himself from getting dragged into all the drama? But yeah, French Gates is right – if Bill knew more about what was going down with Epstein, then he should be held accountable for his ties to him 💯

omg I'm so shocked Bill Gates said he regrets spending time with Epstein!! like we all know how horrible Epstein was 🤕 I don't blame Melinda French Gates for being upset she deserves so much better than her ex-husband's mistakes! I wonder what actually went on between them, but Gates' story sounds fishy to me 🐟 I mean who sends an email claiming they have an STD and asking for antibiotics?😂 that seems super suspicious. I just hope Melinda French Gates gets the closure she deserves 💕

🤔 I mean, I get where Bill is coming from, but still... he's got some serious egg on his face here. Like, how do you not realize the dude was a total creep and associate with him? 🙄 And now Melinda's all like "hold Gates accountable" and I'm just over here like... yeah, good luck with that, Bill 😂. It's like, he knew better, but still thought it was okay to hang out with this guy who was basically a sex trafficker. And now we're getting new deets on Epstein's connections to the powerful and it's just... 🤯. I don't know man, Gates' got some serious 'I'm not as perfect as I thought' face going on right now 😳.

🤔 I don't think we should be too hard on Bill Gates for what he did back then... like 20+ years ago lol. People change and grow up, right? He acknowledged that he was "foolish" to hang out with Epstein and expressed regret, so that's already a big step. It's not like he covered up or denied the allegations forever 🙅‍♂️. And honestly, I think it's good that Melinda French Gates is speaking out about what she knows... we should all be held accountable for our actions, even if we're not the ones who actually did anything wrong 😊.

Ugh 🤦‍♂️, I'm so torn about this whole thing... on one hand, Bill Gates coming clean about his mistakes is kinda admirable? He's owning up to being an idiot and acknowledging that he was wrong to hang out with Epstein in the first place 😳. But at the same time, it's a bit messed up that he's still not fully taking responsibility for his actions... I mean, it feels like he's dodging some of the blame 🤔.

And what's really sad is that Melinda French Gates has been speaking out about this whole thing and it's just not getting enough attention 🙅‍♀️. Like, where were all these people when she was telling her husband to get his act together? 🚫 It's like they're only coming around now that the news is hot again 🔥.

Anyway, I guess what I'm trying to say is... Bill Gates may be regretful about his friendship with Epstein, but he still has a lot of 'splainin' to do 😳.

Omg, I'm kinda surprised Bill Gates finally came clean about his friendship with Epstein 🤯. Like, who wouldn't regret spending time with a convicted sex trafficker? It's not like it's something you brag about or try to hide from the public. I feel bad for Melinda, though - she's already been dealing with the fallout of their divorce and now this too. 😔 The fact that Epstein sent out that email is wild, tho... I wonder if Gates had any idea what was going on behind closed doors 🤷‍♂️. Anyway, it's good to see Bill owning up to his mistakes and taking responsibility for them. Fingers crossed he uses this as an opportunity to learn from the past and do better in the future 💪

I'm not surprised Bill Gates finally owned up to his past friendship with Epstein... 😐 It's about time someone from his social circle spoke out and called him out for it. I mean, come on, a guy who gets accused of running a sex trafficking ring was basically just hanging out with Bill? That's some pretty sketchy behavior right there. 🤔

And what really gets me is that Gates' ex-wife Melinda is still holding onto the idea that he was involved to some extent. I don't get it, if she knew how close they were, wouldn't she've said something by now? It just seems like more of an attempt to save face for Bill. 🙄

It's also kinda rich that Gates is claiming Epstein's email was "false" and that he was mistaken about the whole thing... 🤷‍♂️ Like, come on man, we've got emails from Epstein himself saying you contracted an STD from some Russian girls? That's not exactly a plausible explanation.

Anyway, I'm glad this story is finally getting some attention. It's a good reminder that even people with super high profiles can have skeletons in their closets... 👻

I'm not surprised to hear Bill Gates admit to regrets over his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein 🤔. Given the severity of Epstein's crimes, it's astonishing that Gates spent so much time with him in the first place. The fact that Gates thought he could just "mistake" for associating with Epstein is a bit disconcerting - it raises questions about his judgment and critical thinking skills.

It's also interesting to note how Melinda French Gates' criticism of her ex-husband's actions reflects a more nuanced understanding of the situation than Bill Gates himself. It's not just about Bill Gates being "foolish", but also about him having a responsibility to use his influence and resources to support victims of Epstein's crimes.

Overall, this new development highlights the importance of transparency and accountability in high-profile relationships 📰.

I'm not sure I blame Bill Gates too much for hanging out with Jeffrey Epstein back in the day 🤔... we've all made mistakes, and it's easy to look back and think "what was I thinking?!" 💭 But at the same time, it's pretty shady that he didn't take more responsibility for what happened under his nose 😒. Melinda French Gates is totally right to call him out on this - he can't just wash his hands of the whole thing and pretend like nothing's wrong 🚿. Still, I think we have to give Bill some credit for owning up to his mistakes and not trying to spin them into something they're not 💯... now if only others who knew Epstein could do the same 👀

Ugh 🙄 I mean, I guess it's good Bill Gates is owning up to his mistake now. But still, it's crazy that he spent time with Epstein in the first place... what was he thinking? 😂 It's not like Epstein was some kind of philanthropic icon or something. And now Melinda French Gates is calling him out for it... poor woman, she's dealing with this too 🤕. Can't believe Bill Gates has to do an interview about this and admit he was wrong... what a PR nightmare 💔.

I'm shocked Bill Gates didn't act sooner on this 🤯. It's clear he was too close to Epstein and didn't see the red flags 🚨. Now, all this comes out and it's like a big messy puzzle 🧩... people keep wondering why Melinda wasn't told about these dealings 🤔. You can tell Bill is genuinely regretful but still doesn't want to take full responsibility 💯... what's next? Will he step down from his foundation? ⚠️

omg u can imagine being friends w/ someone who's basically a convicted sex offender lol what was bill thinking?? 🤦‍♂️ anyway i feel bad for melinda french gates she deserves so much better than some dude who thinks he can just play the victim 😒 and honestly its kinda sus that bill's office is trying to downplay the whole email thing like they're not hiding something 🤔 has anyone else seen those documents about epstein's connections? sounds super juicy

😐 I feel like Bill Gates is just trying to save face after being called out for his friendship with Epstein 🤷‍♂️. It's easy to say now that he regrets it, but what really happened? His ex-wife Melinda French Gates seems to be the only one calling him out for this, and even then, he's still not owning up to the full extent of their relationship 💔. I wish he'd just be honest about it all from the start ⏰.

OMG 🤯 I'm shocked Bill Gates is owning up to this now! It's like he finally realized the whole thing was shady 🙅‍♂️. I mean, who knew he had a friendship with someone as sketchy as Epstein? 🤔 Gates seems pretty clueless about it all – like he genuinely thought Epstein's stories were legit 🚫. And now his ex-wife is calling him out for not taking responsibility 🤷‍♀️. I guess this is a sign that times are changing and people need to own up to their past mistakes 💯. Can't say I'm surprised, though – celebrities/wealthy folks often get a free pass, but Gates seems like someone who's usually in the spotlight, so it's kinda refreshing to see him admit fault 🙌
