ICE Agent Who Shot Renee Nicole Good Identified as Jonathan Ross

A US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent shot and killed Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year-old mother of two who was simply observing protests in a Minneapolis neighborhood. The officer involved has now been identified as Jonathan Ross, a deportation officer based out of ICE's St. Paul field office.

According to court documents, Ross has been with the agency since at least 2016 and was even injured while apprehending an undocumented man just over a year ago. However, it seems his injuries didn't stop him from becoming embroiled in another potentially deadly confrontation on Wednesday morning.

When protesters took to the streets of Minneapolis' Central neighborhood, agents from ICE and Border Patrol arrived, sparking tense confrontations with local residents who were simply trying to exercise their right to peaceful assembly. Amidst this chaos, Good was fatally shot by Ross after she allegedly asked him to leave his vehicle.

A video obtained by The Intercept shows a different story unfolding than what the Department of Homeland Security initially reported. In the footage, an officer can be heard telling Good, "Get out of the fucking car," before Ross shoots into her vehicle three times and then walks away seemingly unscathed.

The incident has sparked outrage among local leaders, with Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey calling for a clear and transparent investigation into Good's killing. Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) has also demanded a "comprehensive investigation" into the shooting, labeling it as "state violence."

πŸ˜” I'm still trying to process what happened in that Minneapolis neighborhood last week... it's just so senseless. A mom of two just trying to watch some protests and ended up being shot by an ICE agent. It's like, what even is the protocol here? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ They're supposed to be enforcing laws, not taking lives. And now we have a video that says a completely different story than what they initially told us... it's just so frustrating.

I keep thinking about Renee Nicole Good and her two little ones left behind. Who's going to raise them now? 🌟 It's not right that she was just exercising her right to free speech and got met with such violence. We need to make sure justice is served here and that officer gets held accountable for his actions. The community is demanding a clear investigation, and I don't blame them one bit... πŸ’ͺ

This is just sick 😑...ICE agent Jonathan Ross thought he could just come in here, point his gun around and shoot someone because they were protesting? 🚫 What even is that? I mean, we're supposed to be a country where you can peacefully protest without some dude with a badge showing up and starting trouble. It's just not right...like at all. πŸ™…β€β™€οΈ And the fact that he was shot at by someone else like 4 years ago and just kept on trucking? That's just red flag alert 🚨. And now Renee is dead because of this guy? My heart goes out to her family, it's just a tragedy...so sad πŸ˜”

I'm shocked by this senseless killing πŸ€•. What was Renee doing wrong? Just observing protests and trying to stay safe is not enough when you're up against armed officers πŸ’”. This incident is a reminder that we still have a long way to go in terms of de-escalation training for law enforcement and creating trust between the community and those who enforce the law 🀝. Jonathan Ross's past injuries just make this more disturbing - what kind of system lets someone with a history of injury continue working in such high-risk situations? 🚨

omg can u believe this!! 🀯 Renee Nicole Good was just out protesting and got shot by an ice agent because she asked him to leave his car lol what is wrong with these ppl?!? like if she had asked a cop to get out of their car they would have been all over her face but because it was an ice agent... different story πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ this is literally state violence and we need answers now!!! πŸš”πŸ’₯

🀯 this is just so messed up πŸ€• i mean what even is the point of having an immigration agency that's supposed to keep the country safe but ends up causing more harm than good? 🚫 a mom of two just trying to exercise her right to peaceful assembly gets shot and killed by some dude with a gun who was doing his job 😑 it's like, what did she do wrong? πŸ€” and now there's all this talk about "state violence" which is just so frustrating πŸ™„ because we need more accountability for people in power, not less πŸ’β€β™€οΈ the fact that the officer got injured last year but still managed to get involved in another potentially deadly confrontation just shows how reckless and irresponsible they are πŸ‘Š we need change now, like, seriously now ⏰

I'm so upset about what happened to Renee Nicole Good 😩. It's just not right that she was killed by an ICE agent who didn't have to be in that situation. The video footage is really disturbing - I don't think it's fair that the officer got away with it without any consequences. 🀯 The fact that he had previously been injured while apprehending someone and still managed to shoot someone else just shows how reckless some of these ICE agents can be.

I also feel for Renee's family, who must be going through this incredibly difficult time πŸ’”. It's not right that they're having to deal with the loss of their loved one because of something that seems like a complete overreaction from the authorities. We need to make sure that there is a thorough investigation into what happened and that those responsible are held accountable 🚫.

omg this is so messed up 🀯 i'm literally shaking thinking about what happened to Renee Nicole Good she was just trying to watch her kids have a peaceful protest and get shot by some corrupt ice agent jonathan ross... like what is wrong with these people?! i'm so angry right now the fact that they're covering it up is infuriating πŸ™„ and now there's a video that shows the real story but who cares because nobody wants to listen anyway πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ the system is broken and we need real change ASAP... ICE needs to be held accountable for this heinous act 😑

I don't usually comment but... can we talk about this? I'm still trying to process what happened with that mom, Renee Good. I mean, she was just standing there, minding her own biz, and some ICE agent decides to shoot her for asking him to leave his car? That's wild. And now it comes out that the guy who did it has a history of getting injured while doing his job... like, what's the deal with that? It sounds like he was just looking for an excuse to get in a fight.

I don't think we're seeing the whole story here, and I'm kinda worried about that. Like, what exactly was going on between Good and this officer Ross? Was she really just asking him to leave his car or was there something more to it? And why didn't they report anything about him being injured before? It's all pretty suspicious.

I don't usually get involved in politics, but... I think we need to be paying attention to this one. The fact that Rep. Omar is demanding a comprehensive investigation and the mayor is calling for transparency... that's what matters here. We should want answers.

Ugh, this is just so messed up πŸ€―πŸš” I mean, who does that? A mom of two, just trying to watch her neighbors protest in peace, and she gets shot by an ICE agent. It's like, what even is the point of these agencies anymore? They're supposed to be enforcing the law, not taking lives.

And the fact that this officer, Jonathan Ross, has been with the agency since 2016 and was injured just last year and he still manages to get involved in a deadly confrontation? That's just red flag after red flag. It sounds like a recipe for disaster.

I'm all for people exercising their right to peaceful assembly, but come on, that doesn't mean you're going to get shot by an agent. This is exactly why we need more transparency and accountability in our law enforcement agencies. We can't just sweep these incidents under the rug or blame it on protesters. It's time for real answers πŸ€πŸ½πŸ’―

man this is just so messed up πŸ€• i mean what even is the point of these ICE agents just roaming around and looking for ppl to shoot at? Renee was just a mom trying to exercise her right to peacefull protest like everyone else in that neighborhood. it's not like she was some kind of threat or anything. and now this dude Jonathan Ross gets to walk away with his life while his victim is dead? no way, that's just not fair πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

i feel so bad for Renee's kids too they must be going through the worst at this point. i hope justice is served in this case and ppl are held accountable for their actions. we need to make sure that our rights as citizens aren't being trampled on like this. peaceful protests should be protected, not met with violence 🌟

Man... this is so senseless 😩. I was watching that video and my heart just dropped out of my chest. Can you believe some cop just calmly walks away from someone who's bleeding out? Like, what kind of training does he have? πŸ€” It's like his priority is to protect himself rather than the public.

I'm so sorry for Renee's kids, she was just trying to exercise her right as a human being and get hurt because of it. πŸ™ And now no one knows why this happened or what will happen to the officer who did it. The lack of transparency from DHS is infuriating... it's like they're covering something up. 🚫

😞 I'm really shocked by this incident in Minneapolis. It's just not right that a mom of two was killed by an ICE agent while she was just trying to watch protests peacefully. The video footage is super concerning - it looks like Ross was already being aggressive towards her before he shot her. πŸš”πŸ’₯

I don't think we're seeing the whole story here, and I hope there's a real investigation into what happened. It's not about politics; it's about justice for Renee Good and her family. We need to make sure that our law enforcement officers are held accountable when they misuse their power. πŸ’―

Ugh, this is just so messed up πŸ€•... Like, I get that protests can get heated but there are better ways to handle these situations than resorting to violence. The fact that ICE was even in the neighborhood in the first place is crazy - what's going on with all these deportations and raids? It's like they're trying to spread fear and anxiety in these communities.

And yeah, no way should anyone have to lose their life over something as simple as exercising their right to peaceful assembly. I'm so done with this kind of systemic injustice. We need real solutions here, not just a few token investigations that are going to do nothing but sweep things under the rug.

I'm literally shaking my head over this one 🀯. Can we talk about how ICE is just getting away with murder? I mean, Jonathan Ross gets to live his life after killing an innocent woman, while Renee Nicole Good's family is left to grieve and try to make sense of it all πŸ™. And what really gets my blood boiling is that the Department of Homeland Security initially reported a completely different story than the video shows. Like, how can you just fabricate evidence like that? It's so egregious 🚫. I need better from our law enforcement agencies. We deserve transparency and accountability, not cover-ups and impunity πŸ’”.

πŸ€• this whole thing is just so messed up... I mean think about it - a woman who was out for a peaceful walk with her kids gets caught in the middle of a volatile situation and ends up getting gunned down by an ICE agent. The fact that this agent has a history of violence, yet still manages to get away with it, is just staggering.

The video evidence tells a very different story than what we were initially told, don't you think? It's like they wanted us to believe something else entirely - that Good was somehow the aggressor, not the victim. But the truth is, she was just minding her own business, and then suddenly finds herself in a life-threatening situation because of this guy's actions.

It's clear that there are some serious questions being asked here about accountability and the use of force by law enforcement agencies. And yeah, I think it's totally reasonable to expect a comprehensive investigation into this incident - it's not like we're talking about just any ordinary shooting here.

I'm still trying to process this whole thing πŸ€•... I mean, I know protests can get heated and people on both sides need to calm down, but at the same time, an innocent woman's life was lost πŸ’”. Renee Good was just a mom trying to observe some peace rallies with her family in tow... it's heartbreaking. And now this officer, Jonathan Ross, is being hailed as some kind of hero? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ No way! The video footage says otherwise and honestly, that sounds like totally unacceptable behavior from a law enforcement agent. We need real transparency here about what went down on Wednesday morning. I hope the investigation is thorough and that justice is served for Renee's family πŸ™.
