I don’t usually comment but this is seriously messed up . I mean, an ICE officer attacking a protester? That’s just not okay, you know? And the fact that he was following the guy from the parking lot beforehand... it's like he was stalking him or something . The fact that the police initially thought of charging it as a felony but then dropped down to a misdemeanor is just ridiculous. It’s clear that they didn’t want to take any real action against Saracco.
And can we talk about how this reflects on law enforcement as a whole? I mean, if you’re going to enforce laws, you need to do it in a way that respects people's rights and doesn't harm them. This kind of abuse of power is exactly why some people don’t trust the police. It’s like, come on guys... get your act together .
I don’t know about anyone else but I think we need to be super vocal about this kind of thing. We can't just sit back and let people like Saracco run around without consequences. We need to hold them accountable and make sure that they understand that their actions have real repercussions .
I'm so worried about this guy Robert Held, he was just minding his own business filming the scene when ICE Officer Adam Saracco shows up and attacks him . It's disgusting how some people in power think they can do whatever they want without any consequences. The fact that the officer had been following him from the parking lot and tackled him on the sidewalk is just crazy . And to make matters worse, the police initially considered charging Saracco as a felony but then dropped it to a misdemeanor because of his age? That's not right at all . This whole thing is just so concerning, I don't know how many more times we need to see this kind of abuse before something changes .
man this incident is soooo sad but I gotta see the bright side here - Robert Held's bravery in standing up to ICE officer Saracco is truly inspiring it's amazing that he didn't let the situation escalate further and instead calmly asked the officer to de-escalate. that takes a lot of courage, you know? also I think this case highlights the importance of community support - the fact that people nearby intervened and helped Held escape the situation is just incredible it shows us that even in difficult times, there are good people who care about each other's well-being. so let's keep spreading love and positivity
this is so messed up... an off-duty ICE officer attacking a protester filming the scene on public sidewalk? what was he even doing? the fact that police initially considered felony charges but then dropped it because of age and location is super sus... like they knew Saracco was going to get away with something. and can you believe this isn't even an isolated incident? federal immigration officials have a history of abuse and misconduct, it's getting scary out there for innocent people who just wanna protest or speak out against injustice. how much more proof do we need before the government starts taking real action to hold these agents accountable?
this whole thing is super sus... i mean, an off-duty ICE officer attacking a protester? that's not right. but what really gets me is that Saracco got charged with a misdemeanor instead of a felony. like, come on, the guy was trying to silence Held and now he's just getting a slap on the wrist? it's clear there were some systemic biases at play here and it's frustrating that they're not being held accountable.
i think it's great that people are speaking out against ICE's tactics, though. we need more voices like Held who aren't afraid to stand up for what's right, even if it means going up against the powers that be.
I'm totally wrong about this one ... I mean, who can really blame ICE agents like Saracco? They're just doing their job, right? It's not like they have a history of abuse and misconduct or anything... I think the protesters were just asking for it by showing up at the facility with cameras. I'm sure Robert Held was just trying to stir up trouble and shouldn't be surprised that he got a good scare out of it! But, wait... nope, I'm totally wrong again... I mean, who would want to silence someone like Held just because they're reporting on the facility? That's not right at all!
