It Walks Around the House at Night review – jump scares and spine tingles as a pretend ghost gets really spooked

A Ghostly Gig Gone Wrong: ThickSkin's Haunting Delight

In a darkly comedic twist, an out-of-work actor, Joe (George Naylor), agrees to play the part of a ghost for a week at the eerie Paragon Hall. The pay is too good to pass up, and Joe sees it as a chance to settle his debts. However, as he begins his haunting duties, Joe starts to wonder if he's truly alone in circling the grounds – or if there's another ghostly presence lurking about.

ThickSkin's production masterfully blends Gothic atmosphere with modern horror movie jump scares, creating a spine-tingling experience that will leave you on the edge of your seat. The storytelling is largely conveyed through Joe's narration, which provides atmospheric and poignant insights into the world of ghosts. Paul Hilton's omniscient narration adds to the eerie ambiance.

Deftly directed by Neil Bettles, the show features clever sound design, lighting, and projection effects that will have you wincing at the jump scares. From creepy somnambulism to a scuttling creature in Joe's room, the tension builds with each passing moment.

However, the plot becomes increasingly convoluted as multiple storylines unfold – David (the handsome stranger who hired Joe), his ex-boyfriend, and an ex-girlfriend all add to the chaos. The supernatural "hurt" that drives the ghosts is never fully explored, leaving some themes feeling underdeveloped.

Despite this, ThickSkin's production delivers on its promise of thrills and spills, delivering a haunting experience that lingers long after the curtain falls. If you're in for a good scare, look no further than Paragon Hall – just be prepared to unpack the tangled plot threads.

😱 I gotta say, I was thoroughly entertained by this Ghostly Gig... until it got all convoluted 🤯! I mean, who doesn't love a good jump scare? But seriously, the sound design and lighting effects were on point 🔪🎃, they really added to the spooky atmosphere. I loved how the narration created these eerie vibes, but yeah, the plot was like trying to untangle spaghetti 🍝💔... it got messy! Still, if you're in the mood for some serious thrills and chills, this one's worth checking out 👻🎟️

I just watched this show "A Ghostly Gig Gone Wrong" and I'm still shivering 😱! The atmosphere was so creepy, especially with that narration from Paul Hilton it added to the whole eerie vibe 🕷️. But omg, the plot got super convoluted, like what was up with all those storylines? 🤯 It felt like too many balls were in the air at once 😩. Still though, ThickSkin's production masterfully blended the Gothic and modern horror elements to create a spine-tingling experience 💀. If you're into jump scares and thrills, this show is def worth checking out... just be prepared for some plot holes 🤔.

I gotta say, this show is like a rollercoaster ride for your nerves - it's dark, twisty, and totally unsettling 🤯. The way they use sound design, lighting, and projection effects to create those jump scares is seriously impressive. I loved how the storytelling was done through Joe's narration, it really added to the atmosphere and made me feel like something was off 😱. But, man, that plot gets crazy complicated - all these different storylines and characters start to blend together in a mess of ghostly drama 🤯. And yeah, some of those themes just get glossed over, leaving you feeling kinda unsatisfied 🤔. Still, if you're looking for a spooky night out, ThickSkin's production is definitely worth checking out 👻.

I loved how they did the sound effects in this show 🎃️ it was so realistic I felt like I was right there with Joe. But omg, I'm still trying to process what happened at the end 🤯😱. Can someone explain why David's ex-boyfriend and ex-girlfriend were just kinda...there? 🤔 It felt like they added so much more depth to the story if you had just given us some answers about their supernatural "hurt" 💀

I'm still reeling from this show 😱👻! The sound design was insane, I swear, every creak and groan had me jumping out of my seat 🤯! But what really got under my skin (pun intended) was how they wove the storylines together – or rather, how they didn't quite tie them up 🙅‍♂️. It's like, you want to scream "help!" when the plot gets all tangled and confusing 😩. That being said, it totally delivered on that whole spooky vibe, I was literally on edge the entire time 🤹‍♀️!
