Leaked documents show scale of ICE surveillance

A trove of classified documents obtained by journalist Ken Klippenstein has shed light on the vast and secretive network of Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) surveillance operations. The leaked files reveal 21 clandestine programs run by ICE, code-named Benchwarmer, Tidal Wave, Abracadabra, and others, which have resulted in the detention of at least 6,852 individuals since June.

The documents provide a glimpse into how ICE collects intelligence on immigrants and citizens. A nationwide operation, codenamed Abracadabra, was launched after the agency interviewed over 100% of those apprehended to gather information on potential targets such as stash houses and individuals engaging in illegal activities. The goal of this operation was to create a web of connections between all individuals accused of entering the country illegally, linking them to foreign terrorist organizations or transnational criminal groups.

In another operation, Benchwarmer, an estimated 2,000 "intelligence assets" have been deployed across the country. ICE officers are reportedly using plainclothes tactics to gather information that would not be normally obtained during formal interviews. The documents reveal that these agents are embedded in transport vans, processing areas, detention cells, and other sensitive locations to gather tactical intelligence.

The leaks come at a time of heightened tensions over ICE's conduct, with many calling for greater accountability following the death of Renee Nicole Good by an ICE officer and subsequent protests in Minneapolis. The public outcry has further strained relations between the American people and ICE, raising questions about the extent of its surveillance activities and the need for transparency.

man i dont get why they gotta spy on everyone πŸ€” like what if you just wanna travel to canada or somethin? why do they need all this intel? 🚫 seems really scary that they got a whole network of these clandestine programs runnin under the radar... 6,852 people detained already is crazy πŸ’₯ and now theyre tryna link everyone together with foreign terrorist orgs or whatever 🀯 its like, what's next?

man i'm not surprised about this... like everything is so secretive now it's hard to know what's really going on 🀯. these programs sound straight outta a bad movie, who needs that kind of power in our hands? 6,852 people detained already and we're just finding out about it now? it's like they're hiding something big... the fact that they're embedding agents in transport vans and detention cells is wild, what even is the point of that? 🚨

Dude, this is super creepy 🀯. I'm not surprised that they're using plainclothes tactics to gather intel, but 100% of those apprehended? That's some major Big Brother stuff 😲. And these "intelligence assets" embedded in transport vans and detention cells? It's like they're trying to create a surveillance state for real 🚨.

I mean, I get that we need to keep the country safe, but at what cost? 6,852 people detained since June? That's a lot of lives being affected by these secretive ops. And now with all this blowing up on social media and protests in Minneapolis, it's like they're trying to avoid accountability πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ.

I'm worried about where this is going to lead. Are we gonna start seeing more mass arrests and detentions just because of some intel that's been gathered? It's gotta stop somehow πŸ’”. We need to know what's really going on with our immigration system, not just have a bunch of classified docs hidden away 🀐.

Just got my hands on some sick files 🀯🚨 and I'm low-key freaking out, fam. So it turns out ICE is like, super obsessed with surveilling immigrants and civilians alike πŸ•΅οΈβ€β™‚οΈ. They've got 21 secret programs goin' on, codenamed like "Tidal Wave" or whatever, and they're racking up some serious numbers - over 6,800 people detained since June alone πŸ“Š. And get this, they even interviewed like, 100% of those apprehended to gather intel on potential targets... sounds fishy if you ask me πŸ˜’.

But what's really gettin' my blood pumpin' is the fact that these agents are just walkin' around in plainclothes, gatherin' info without anyone even knowin' it πŸ€₯. They're embedded in vans, processing areas, detention cells... like, how far does this surveillance go? It's straight up creepy 😳. And with all the protests and outrage over Renee Nicole Good's death at the hands of an ICE officer, I'm just worried that we're losin' control of our own borders 🚫. We need more transparency, not less πŸ”’.

🀯 I'm still trying to wrap my head around this, 6,852 people detained because of these secret programs? It's like something out of a movie, you know? πŸŽ₯ The fact that they're using plainclothes tactics and embedding agents in detention cells is just creepy. And what's with the code names like Benchwarmer and Abracadabra? Sounds like some bad spy novel. 😳 I'm all for accountability, but it feels like ICE is just getting away with this kind of thing because nobody wants to rock the boat. The government needs to be more transparent about these kinds of operations. It's not cool that they're collecting intel on innocent people without their consent. πŸ€”

The truth is rarely pure and never simple πŸ€”. But I guess when you're trying to catch bad guys, sometimes you gotta take a few risks... 😬. It's like they say: "Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." – Thomas Jefferson πŸ•ŠοΈ

omg is this still happening 🀯 like how much power does a govt agency have to just collect info on ppl without even telling them? i'm literally shaking with anger reading about these benchwarmer & tidal wave programs - who do they think they are? surveilling everyone & linking people to terrorist orgs or whatever... it's like they're trying to create some kinda dystopian sci-fi movie 🚫 what's next?

i don't get why ppl rnt pushing for more transparency about these kinds of agencies. we have a right to know what's goin on behind closed doors, esp when it comes to our civil liberties & safety. ICE is like a modern-day secret society or something... they're just flyin under the radar w/ all this covert ops stuff πŸ•΅οΈβ€β™€οΈ i'm so done with this government secrecy nonsense

🀯 I'm totally blown away by these leaked documents on ICE's secret surveillance ops! It's like, who gives them this kind of power? πŸ€” The fact that they've been collecting intel on immigrants and citizens without any real oversight is just wild. And the way they're using plainclothes agents to gather info in transport vans and detention cells? That's just creepy. 😬

I think it's super concerning that they've been able to create this web of connections between people accused of entering the country illegally, linking them to foreign terrorist organizations or transnational criminal groups. It sounds like they're basically building a database on anyone who comes into contact with these individuals. That's just not right. πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ

I'm all for accountability and transparency when it comes to government agencies, especially ones as powerful as ICE. The fact that we have to rely on leaks from journalists to get the truth out is just frustrating. Can't we just have some real answers from our government officials? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

OMG 😱, this is soooo worrying!!! 🀯 I mean, who gives government agencies that kind of power over us?!?! πŸ™…β€β™€οΈ The fact that they're just collecting intel on anyone they want, it's like they think we're all suspects or something! πŸ€” And what about those 6,852 people who got detained?!?! That's, like, so many innocent lives! 😱 I don't know how much more of this we can take... ICE needs to be held accountable for this stuff and those documents need to be released publicly ASAP! πŸ’₯ Can you even imagine if they had a record like that on the private sector?!? 🀯 Companies would get sued into oblivion and CEOs would lose their jobs in an instant! πŸ™„ It's just not right, we need change! 🌟
