Lisa Rinna backtracks after her attack on Colton Underwood, his ‘stalker’ past elicits death threats: ‘Please be gentle’

"Lisa Rinna Walks Back 'Stalker' Comment Amid Colton Underwood's Resurfaced Restraining Order Scandal"

In a stunning reversal, Lisa Rinna has apologized for her previous "stalker" comment about Colton Underwood. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star initially sparked outrage after saying that she wanted to be gentle with the former Bachelor contestant, who was recently hit with death threats following his resurfaced restraining order scandal.

Rinna took to Instagram Stories on Saturday to backpedal her remarks, stating that she didn't want anyone to "get hurt" over the controversy. The 62-year-old reality TV personality claimed that she and Underwood have been texting each other and had only ever had a great time together.

"I do not want this because Colton and I are great," Rinna said in her Instagram Stories post. "He was a great and is a great nemesis for me on the show [and] in the game."

Rinna also begged her followers to refrain from sending death threats or jeopardizing Underwood's family, urging fans to be "gentle" instead.

However, it appears that Rinna's apology may have come too late. The controversy surrounding Underwood's resurfaced restraining order scandal continues to simmer, with many fans taking to social media to express their outrage and disappointment.

In light of the backlash, Bravo has issued an official statement urging its fans to cease the "unwarranted negativity" and personal attacks on Underwood and other cast members.

"We are committed to making our cast feel safe, respected and supported — on screen and off," the statement read. "The cast of 'The Traitors' are real people, and what happens in the game should never lead to cyberbullying or harassment."

Despite Rinna's apology, it remains unclear whether her previous comments have caused irreparable harm to Underwood's reputation. One thing is certain, however: the drama surrounding The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star and former Bachelor contestant Colton Underwood will likely continue for some time to come.

🤯 i was watching that episode of RHOBH last night & lisa rinna's comments about colton underwood were SO outta line 🙄 like who says they wanna be gentle with someone & then proceeds to stir up drama? anyway, she apologized on instagram but i think it's too little, too late ⏰ her words just came across as insincere & try-hard 💁‍♀️ now the whole thing is just a mess 🤪

I'm still not gettin' why people are so mad at Lisa Rinna 🤷‍♀️... like, yeah she said somethin' that might've been a lil' out of line, but you gotta admit, it's Colton Underwood who's got the restraining order and death threats goin' on 💔. It feels kinda unfair to be shadin' Rinna for this when the real issue is Colton. But at the same time, I get why people are still salty... The Real Housewives is all about drama, after all 🤯. Anyway, I think it's cool that Rinna's tryin' to do damage control and apologize, but maybe she shoulda done it sooner? Anyway, can't wait for more tea on this! 😉

🙅‍♀️ just saw that Lisa Rinna walked back her 'stalker' comment about Colton Underwood... I don't get why she had to apologize, she was right in the first place 🤷‍♀️. The guy has a history of violence and now people are sending him death threats? It's just crazy! 💥 And then Rinna tries to save face by saying they're texting each other and having a great time... yeah no. We all know how reality TV works, folks. Let Colton take the heat for his own actions, not Lisa Rinna 🙄.

Ugh, I'm so done with this whole thing 🙄... like, remember when we used to talk about reality TV being all about drama and catty fights? Now it's just people being genuinely hurtful and mean-spirited 😔. And what really gets me is that Lisa Rinna was making excuses for Colton Underwood, saying they're "great" and stuff... can't she see how ridiculous she sounds now? 🙃 I swear, this whole thing is like a never-ending episode of The Real Housewives... except instead of fighting over who's the most fabulous, it's about being kind to someone who's going through some serious issues 😕. Anyways, I'm just gonna go back and watch old episodes of RHOBH, when people used to actually be funny and entertaining 📺.

🤔 I don't think this is just about Lisa Rinna apologizing, it's also about the bigger picture here... she says they're texting and having a great time, but isn't that kinda weird considering Colton Underwood has a resurfaced restraining order scandal? And what about her comments before apology - calling him a "nemesis" on TV sounds pretty manipulative to me 🤷‍♀️. Maybe Bravo's statement is right, we should be more careful with our words and actions online... but it's also important for people to express themselves and not just calm down without any reflection 🤓.

Ugh, this whole thing is just a mess 🙄. Like, Lisa Rinna's apology comes across as super insincere and I'm still not buying it. She's only apologizing now because she's getting roasted on social media and losing followers fast 💔. And honestly, her excuse that she was trying to be "gentle" with Colton is just laughable 🤣. Newsflash, Lisa: making a comment about wanting to be gentle with someone who's been accused of being a stalker is not okay, period. The fact that you're now trying to spin it as something positive just makes you look like you're trying too hard to save face 🙃. And what's really concerning here is the harm that Colton Underwood has already suffered due to your comments and the backlash from fans 🤕. Bravo needs to do better than just issue a generic statement about making the cast feel safe – they need to actually take concrete steps to prevent situations like this from happening in the future 💪.

omg what a mess 🤯💁‍♀️ I mean i get it lisa rinna said something she didn't think thru but like death threats are never the answer 💀 colton underwood is already dealing with some serious drama and he doesn't need more 😩 bravo should be all about creating a safe space for their cast members, not encouraging negativity 🤝 rinna's apology was sweet i guess, but now it's all about damage control 💸 we'll just have to wait and see how this plays out 📺

I think Lisa Rinna was way too quick to backtrack on her comments 🤔. She initially came across as insensitive and dismissive of Colton Underwood's serious situation, but now she's trying to make amends by saying they're great friends... meanwhile, the guy's been getting death threats 💀? I get that she didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings, but it feels like she was more worried about her own image than actually supporting someone in a difficult spot 🤷‍♀️. Still, at least she's taking responsibility and trying to move forward... we'll see how this drama unfolds 😬

ugh this is so messed up 🤯 lisa rinna thinks she can just apologize after being super toxic towards colton underwood's family? like, no hard feelings or anything when you make a stalker comment about someone who's already dealing with death threats? 🙄 and now she's basically saying her "nemeses" is colton for the sake of drama on her show... what a joke 💁‍♀️ i don't think anyone will ever forgive her for this one, especially colton's fans 👎

Ugh, I'm so tired of all this drama on these platforms 🤯... like, can't we just be civil for once? 💁‍♀️ Rinna's apology feels way too late, and now it's just gonna make everyone even more salty about it 😒. And don't even get me started on the whole Colton situation – death threats are never okay, period 🚫... Bravo needs to do better than just issuing a generic statement and expecting everything to be fine 💯. We need concrete action and support for these cast members, not just empty apologies 🙄. Can we just have a drama-free zone for once? 🤷‍♀️😒

Ugh I'm so frustrated with Lisa Rinna rn 🤯 she was totally out of line calling someone a stalker just because they were upset about their restraining order... like what even is that? And now Colton's family is getting dragged into it too 😔. The thing is, Colton did do something wrong by not reporting the threats sooner, but does he deserve death threats and cyberbullying from fans of a reality show? No 🙅‍♀️. I think Bravo's statement is super reasonable, though - the cast members are human beings and they should be treated with respect and kindness, even if they do say some pretty questionable things on TV 😳.

🤣👀💁‍♀️[image of Lisa Rinna with a "stalker" label on her forehead]

😂🚫 Death threats are never the answer, folks! 💔[GIF of a person getting punched]

🙅‍♂️ Bravo is right, let's keep it classy and respectful. 🤝[image of a group hug]

💁‍♀️ Apologies are welcome, but actions speak louder than words... 🤷‍♀️[gif of a person with a "talking" mouth and a shrugging shoulders]

👀 The drama is real, but let's keep it civil. 💯 [image of a peace sign]

🙅‍♀️ u know its always funny how tv stars get caught up in drama 🤣... like lisa rinna trying to backtrack on her "stalker" comment 🤦‍♀️... poor colton underwood is just getting roasted by the whole fandom right now 🔥... and honestly who can blame them? it is wild that lisa thought she could just apologize and expect everything to be okay 💁‍♀️... meanwhile bravo's trying to remind everyone that their cast members are "real people" 🙄... anyway, it just goes to show that in the world of reality tv, drama is always just around the corner 😳💥

I don’t usually comment but... I feel kinda bad for Lisa Rinna now that she’s apologized 🤔. Her initial comments were pretty harsh, especially considering what Colton Underwood is going through right now 💔. I mean, who wants to be called a stalker or have their personal life attacked online? Not cool, Lisa 😒.

It’s also kinda sad that some fans are still sending death threats and being super negative about the situation 🤯. Like, what’s the point of all this drama? Can’t we just be kind and respectful to each other instead? 💕

I do think Bravo is right to step in and remind everyone to behave themselves though 👏. The cast members are people too, with feelings and families who deserve respect. Let’s focus on supporting them rather than tearing each other down 🤗.

It’s gonna be interesting to see how this all plays out from here...

I remember when reality TV was just starting out and we didn't have all these social media platforms, it was like watching a train wreck that you couldn't look away from 🚂💥. Lisa Rinna's comments about Colton Underwood were pretty shocking, but at the same time, I'm not surprised. It's like she's playing the game of The Real Housewives and trying to stir up drama ⚡️. But then she apologizes and says they've been texting each other... I don't know, it sounds like a bunch of BS 😒. I mean, if she really wanted to make amends, maybe she should've done something more substantial than just an Instagram post 📸. And now the whole thing has blown up in her face, and Bravo is trying to tell everyone to calm down 🔇. It's just so... 2025 🤯.

I'm so frustrated with Lisa Rinna right now 🤯. Like, I get it, she was trying to spin things, but this apology comes across as super insincere 🙄. It's all about her and how she wants to be seen as the victim in this whole situation... Newsflash, Rinna: your words still hurt a lot of people 🤕. And let's not forget that Colton Underwood has been dealing with some serious stuff, like death threats and a resurfaced restraining order scandal 😩. It's not like Lisa was innocent or anything; she was just trying to get attention by stirring up drama 💁‍♀️. I don't care if they're 'great' or whatever - Colton deserves better than Rinna's condescending attitude 👎. Can we please just move on from this whole thing already? 🙄

🤔👀 just think about how bad it is when people say things that hurt others... even if they try to take them back 🙏💖 but honestly can't erase the pain 💔 and now Colton's family is dealing with this drama too 😩👪 gotta be careful with our words and actions 💬😊

I feel bad for Colton Underwood, but at the same time, I'm like... Lisa Rinna's apology kinda came outta nowhere 🤔. She was all about dissin' him on TV and now she's just "great" with him? No hard feelings or anything? It sounds like a scripted apology to me 📺. And yeah, Bravo's statement is super necessary, but can't we just let people handle their own drama without needing an official word from the network? The Traitors game can be intense, I get it, but death threats and cyberbullying are never okay 💔. Can't we all just keep it civil?

OMG, like I'm totally shocked that Lisa Rinna is walking back her "stalker" comment... I mean, girl, you gotta be more careful with your words when it comes to drama! 🤯♀️ Now Colton Underwood's resurfaced restraining order scandal is still all over the place and everyone's getting salty 😒. Like, Bravo's official statement about not wanting cyberbullying or harassment is low-key a must for all of us drama queens... but we know how that usually goes 🤷‍♀️. Rinna thought she was being gentle with her comment, but I'm like "girl, be real" 💁‍♀️. Anyway, this whole drama is giving me life and I am HERE. FOR. IT 🎉
