Mamdani taps NYC school nurses, peers to bring people indoors during ‘lethal cold' stretch

I'm really worried about these poor souls out there struggling in the brutal cold. 10 below zero is crazy! I feel bad for those who can't find shelter on time. It's like, I get it, it's not just a matter of having a place to stay, but also access to basic necessities like food and water. The city's efforts seem solid, adding more hotel shelters and warming facilities - hopefully, people will take advantage of them. I wish they could've done more though... we need to make sure everyone's protected during these extreme weather conditions 🥶

I'm literally shivering just reading about this 🥶... 17 deaths is insane! The fact that they're adding more hotel shelter units and warming facilities is a good start, but I'm still worried about the hypothermia risk 😬. We need to support these people ASAP! They're already struggling on the streets, and now they have to deal with -20 degrees? 🤯 It's like, what even is that?! Can't we just provide them with some proper warmth and shelter already?! The mayor's trying, but I know it's gonna be a tough battle against this harsh weather. Fingers crossed they can get everyone indoors soon! ❤️
