Medusa celebrates grand opening in Detroit’s Midtown - Detroit Metro Times

New Italian Restaurant Medusa Opens in Detroit's Midtown, Bringing Sicilian Flavors to the City

Chef Anthony Lombardo has added another gem to his culinary empire with the grand opening of Medusa, a new Italian restaurant in Detroit's trendy Midtown neighborhood. Located at 664 Selden St., just down the street from his acclaimed SheWolf Pastificio & Bar, Medusa promises to transport diners on a culinary journey through the cuisine of Sicily and other Mediterranean flavors.

According to Lombardo, the menu at Medusa is intentionally simple yet thoughtful, featuring classic ingredients such as olive oil, capers, olives, tomatoes, and anchovies. However, it's the storytelling behind each dish that sets Medusa apart from your average Italian eatery. "We're going to tell the story of Sicily through our menu, through our service and our hospitality," Lombardo explained in an interview with Hour Detroit magazine last year. "We want to teach everyone about the uniqueness of this very special place."

Medusa's Midtown location marks a new chapter for Lombardo, who has already proven himself as a restaurateur with SheWolf Pastificio & Bar. While the building has seen its fair share of failed restaurant concepts in recent years, Lombardo is confident that Medusa will be the one to stick.

To ensure a great dining experience, reservations are highly recommended at medusa-detroit.com. With its focus on authentic Sicilian flavors and warm hospitality, Medusa is sure to become a must-visit destination for foodies in Detroit's Midtown neighborhood.

OMG 🤩 just heard about this new Italian spot in Midtown and I'm DYING 💀 to try it out! Chef Anthony Lombardo's got a good vibe going on with the whole 'tellin' the story of Sicily through food' thing - I mean, who doesn't love a good cultural experience with their pasta? 🍝 The menu sounds super simple but in a good way, you know? Like, less is more sometimes. And I'm all about those authentic flavors 🤤. I've been to Detroit's Midtown before and it's always poppin' so I'm not surprised Medusa is gonna be a hit! 💥 Booked my table already at medusa-detroit.com - see you there! 👍

omg u guys i just tried medusa last nite and it was LIFE.CHANGING 🤩 the pasta dishes r insane like seriously don't even get me started on the seafood risotto it was like my grandma used to make back home lol anyway i'm super in love with the decor its so chic and modern but still got that italian vibe u gotta try the wine list too they got some amazing sicilian wines 🍷👍

Just tried out Medusa in Midtown and gotta say, their pasta dishes were 🔥🍝! I mean, who doesn't love a good ol' fashioned Sicilian plate of spaghetti or fettuccine? But what really caught my eye was the way they told the story behind each dish. It's not just about throwin' some ingredients together and hopin' for the best - it's about takin' you on a culinary journey through the flavors and history of Sicily. Chef Lombardo's got a real passion project goin' on here, and I think that shines through in every bite. One small quibble: would've loved to see a bit more variety on the dessert menu 🍰👀

just had dinner at medusa downtown detroit 🍝👌, gotta say their eggplant parmesan was fire 🔥 but the real MVP was the panna cotta for dessert... somehow it was just the right amount of sweet 😋 also i love how they incorporated so much history and culture into the menu, it's like eating a story 📚🍴

just saw that new italian restaurant medusa just opened up in detroit's midtown 🍝🎉 i'm not a big italian food person but the chef's story about taking diners on a journey through sicily sounds pretty cool 🌴 anyone else think of trying it out? 🤔

🤕 another new restaurant opens... people will just go there to be disappointed by the hype 🤦‍♂️ detroit has enough good italian places already what's next? 🤔 chef lombardo thinks he's so original with his "storytelling" menu thing but it's all just a rehash of every other italian restaurant 🍝💸 mark my words, medusa will be just another failed concept in midtown

🍝 I'm loving the sound of this new Italian spot in Midtown! Chef Lombardo's idea of keeping it simple yet thoughtful with classic ingredients like olive oil and capers is right on point 🤩. What I think really sets Medusa apart, though, is the storytelling aspect behind each dish. It sounds like they're not just serving food, but sharing a piece of Sicily's culture and history with their customers 📚. That kind of attention to detail can only enhance the dining experience. Plus, it's great to see another successful chef coming out of SheWolf Pastificio & Bar - that place is already getting rave reviews! 💯

OMG u guys ! 🤩 I just found out about this new Italian restaurant Medusa in Detroit's Midtown & I'm SO hyped !! 😍 Chef Anthony Lombardo is literally bringing the real deal Sicilian flavors to our city , which I've been craving for ages . The menu sounds super simple yet thoughtful , with a focus on classic ingredients like olive oil , capers , olives , and tomatoes . What's even more cool is the storytelling behind each dish - Lombardo wants to take us on a culinary journey through Sicily , sharing its uniqueness & history with us .

I'm loving the fact that reservations are highly recommended , so we can ensure an amazing dining experience . I've heard great things about Lombardo's other restaurant SheWolf Pastificio & Bar , and now he's pushing the boundaries again with Medusa . It's gonna be a game-changer for foodies in Midtown , trust me ! 🍝👏

🍝 just had the most amazing lunch at Medusa in Midtown and I'm HOOKED on those Sicilian flavors! Chef Anthony Lombardo really knows what he's doing, I mean have you tried their eggplant parmesan? it's like a taste explosion in your mouth 🤯. And don't even get me started on the service, so warm and inviting! The atmosphere is cozy too, feels like you're dining with Nonna herself 😊. Definitely adding Medusa to my go-to list for a delicious Italian meal. Reservations are a must tho, it's already getting pretty busy 📅!

🍝💸 The new Italian restaurant Medusa opening up in Midtown Detroit raises some interesting questions about gentrification & small business ownership 🤔. I mean, the fact that Chef Lombardo is bringing his culinary expertise to the area, while also introducing a unique dining experience, speaks volumes about his commitment to preserving cultural heritage... or is he just another big player trying to cash in on the Detroit food scene? 🤑 Anyway, with the current state of zoning laws & rising rents in Midtown, it's refreshing to see someone investing in the community like this. Let's keep our fingers crossed that Medusa will be a sustainable success story for our city! 👍
