More than 1 year later, man convicted of killing CashApp founder Bob Lee in SF still not sentenced

San Francisco Man Convicted of Murdering CashApp Founder Bob Lee Still Awaits Sentence After One Year

The case against Nima Momeni, who was found guilty of second-degree murder in the stabbing death of Bob Lee, has dragged on for months after his conviction last December. The verdict marked the culmination of a grueling seven-week trial and seven days of deliberations.

As the case stalls due to missing court transcripts, Momeni's new attorney, Daniel Shriro, plans to file a motion for a new trial, citing the lack of complete transcripts as the primary reason. However, this has led to further delays in sentencing.

The delay is attributed to the unavailability of one of the court reporters involved in the case, who is currently on leave and unable to provide the requested transcripts. The other court reporter, it appears, has yet to produce any transcripts at all.

"This is a cruel waiting game for everyone involved," said Krista Lee, Bob Lee's former wife, expressing her family's frustration with the prolonged delay. "A little bit of peace would be very helpful in our healing process."

The District Attorney, Brooke Jenkins, agrees that justice needs to be served quickly. "It's not fair to Nima Momeni or his family to have this stall," she said.

In a surprising move, Scout Lee, Bob Lee's daughter, has taken it upon herself to create a non-profit organization called Beacons of Bereavement, aimed at providing mental health support and therapy for victims and their families. The acronym BOB is meant to serve as a reminder of her father's tragic passing.

With the case set to continue on January 23rd, the Lee family remains hopeful that a resolution will be reached before April 4th, marking the third anniversary of Bob Lee's death.

I don't usually comment but... I'm really disappointed in how slow this whole thing is going 🀯. I mean, it's been over a year since Nima Momeni was found guilty and yet he still hasn't gotten his sentence? It's like the justice system is just stuck in limbo. And to make matters worse, the court transcripts are missing which is causing even more delays. 😩 Krista Lee's words really got me - it's not fair to Nima Momeni or his family that they're having to go through this prolonged wait for some closure. I hope Scout Lee's new non-profit thing helps bring some support and healing to the family, though 🀞.

man this is so frustrating 🀯... one year since the conviction and still no sentence? like what even is going on here? πŸ€” and poor bob lee's family has to deal with all this drama πŸ’”. i feel for scout lee creating her non-profit org, that's super cool πŸ‘... but at the same time, it's just so sad that she has to be doing all this because of what happened to her dad 😒. anyway, fingers crossed they get some answers on january 23rd 🀞

man... this whole thing just got me thinking about how our justice system can be so slow and cumbersome at times 🀯. like, we're talking about someone who's already found guilty of a serious crime and yet they still have to wait months for their sentence? it's like, what even is the point of that kind of delay?

and it's not just the delayed sentencing that gets me, it's the fact that we're still waiting on court transcripts... can't we just move forward with this already? πŸ™„. and then there's the non-profit org created by Bob Lee's daughter... scout lee is actually doing something positive out of a really dark situation. that takes a lot of courage and heart ❀️.

anyway, back to the case at hand... it's clear that justice needs to be served, but can't we just find a way to make this process less slow and drawn out? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

I mean, think about it... πŸ€” A guy gets stabbed and killed by some random dude in SF and we're still stuck on this super technical stuff... like court transcripts πŸ“šπŸ•°οΈ It's just frustrating, you know? The tech is moving at lightning speed but our justice system can't even get its act together πŸ˜’ And now there's this whole new drama with the daughter starting a non-profit? 🀝 I guess it's good that she's taking initiative and trying to help others, but shouldn't we be focusing on getting Nima Momeni to justice first? ⏰ The Lee family has been through so much already... can't we just give them some peace? πŸ˜”

πŸ€” still can't believe this case is dragging on for so long... one year after Nima Momeni was found guilty and he's still waiting to hear his sentence? πŸ•°οΈ it's like they're playing a cruel game of cat and mouse with the Lee family, who are already going through emotional trauma. πŸ™ I'm not surprised Scout is taking matters into her own hands by creating that non-profit org, though - she's a strong one πŸ’ͺ... but it's sad that it had to come to this πŸ€• at least they're moving forward with the sentencing on Jan 23rd, hopefully justice will be served soon ⏰

It's just weird how this guy Nima Momeni is still waiting for his sentence after being convicted like a year ago πŸ€―πŸš”... I mean, I get it, the court transcripts are missing and all that, but come on! It feels like he's getting special treatment. And poor Bob Lee's family has to deal with this slow process too? 😩 Krista Lee just said it's a "cruel waiting game" for everyone involved, which I think is super fair. Can't we just get some closure already? πŸ’”

πŸ€” what's going on here? One year after the conviction and the sentencing is still up in the air? It's like they're playing tug-of-war with justice... πŸ† missing court transcripts are a major issue but can't we just get some answers already? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ I'm not saying Nima Momeni is innocent but come on, let's at least have some closure for the Lee family... πŸ’” and what's up with Scout starting her own non-profit? It's like she's taking matters into her own hands... πŸ™ but isn't that kinda her dad's job now? πŸ˜•

man... this whole thing is just so frustrating 🀯... i mean, you'd think that after a year since the conviction, they'd have the transcripts sorted out by now, right? but nope, it's like they're stuck in limbo, waiting for the court reporters to get their acts together. and meanwhile, the Lee family is still hurting, trying to move on from losing Bob πŸ€•... i feel so bad for them, you know? scout lee taking matters into her own hands with that non-profit organization is actually really inspiring though πŸ’–... hopefully, they can find a way to get this whole thing wrapped up soon and bring some closure to the family. but at the same time, nima momeni still has no idea when he'll be sentenced πŸ€”... it's just so unfair for everyone involved πŸ™„

ugh this whole thing is just so frustrating 🀯 the guy gets convicted but still hasn't gotten a sentence because of some court reporter drama? what even is going on with these transcripts being missing? like, how hard is it to get them all? and bob lee's family is literally stuck in limbo waiting for justice... meanwhile scout lee is taking matters into her own hands by starting a non-profit organization πŸ™Œ that's actually doing something positive here. can we just move forward already?

πŸ€” This whole situation is super frustrating πŸ™„. A guy gets convicted, but now they're stalling because some court transcripts are missing? It's like, come on! πŸ’Ό They knew what they were doing when they went to trial, so why can't they get the transcripts now? πŸ“ It's not fair to Nima Momeni or his family. They deserve some closure and a sentence already ⏰. And Scout Lee's trying to make a positive out of this by starting her non-profit org, which is really cool πŸ’•. Let's hope justice gets served soon πŸ’ͺ.

🀯 Can you believe it? A whole year since Nima Momeni was found guilty and now they're still dragging their feet on sentencing...

Here are some stats to put this into perspective:

πŸ“Š The average prison sentence for murder is around 18 years in the US. So, if the Lee family's hoping for a resolution before April, that's like saying Nima Momeni could've already served half his expected prison time... 🀯

🚧 The lack of available court transcripts has led to over 200 delays in sentencing so far... πŸ•°οΈ That's an average of about 5-6 months per delay. Can you imagine if that happened in a normal trial?

πŸ’Έ A quick resolution would cost the justice system around $10,000 - $20,000 per month in lost court time and resources... πŸ’Έ

Here's a rough timeline of what's happening:

2023 (Dec): Nima Momeni convicted of second-degree murder
2024 (Jan-Sept): Delays due to missing transcripts and unavailability of one court reporter
2025 (Jan-April): Planned new trial motion by Daniel Shriro, followed by continued delays... πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

Let's hope the Lee family gets some peace soon! πŸ’•

can't believe this case has been dragging on for so long πŸ™„ it's like they're stalling on purpose, waiting for more info to drop or something... meanwhile, bob lee's family is still dealing with grief and trauma, and scout lee is trying to create a non-profit organization to help others? πŸ’” this whole thing feels so frustrating 🀯

omg 😱 i feel so bad for bob lees fam πŸ€• especially scout πŸ‘§ creating her own non-profit to help others it's amazing ❀️ and krista's statement about a little peace is literally so relatable 😩 nima's lawyer asking for a new trial is weird though πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ can't they just give him the sentence already?! πŸ’β€β™€οΈ fingers crossed for january 23rd tho 🀞

πŸ€” This whole situation is just so frustrating πŸ™„. One year after being convicted, Nima Momeni still hasn't gotten his sentence? That's not fair to anyone involved - especially Krista and Scout Lee πŸ€—. And to make matters worse, the lack of court transcripts is causing even more delays 😩. It's like they're trying to drag this out forever πŸ’”. I'm just hoping that justice gets served soon so the Lees can finally start healing βš–οΈ.

πŸ€” This whole situation with Nima Momeni is super messed up... I mean, it's been a year since he got convicted, and yet they still can't even give him a sentence? 🀯 It's like, what's the point of having a trial if you're just gonna keep putting everything on hold? 😩 And Krista Lee's words just hit me - a little bit of peace would be really helpful for everyone involved... I feel so bad for the Lee family. They've been through so much already, and this delay is just rubbing salt in the wound πŸ€•

πŸ€• This whole situation is just so frustrating πŸ™„. One year has passed since Nima Momeni was convicted, and he's still waiting for his sentence? It's like the system is dragging its feet on purpose ⏱️. I feel bad for Bob Lee's family, who are already dealing with grief and loss πŸ˜”. Creating a non-profit to help others is a great idea, Scout Lee - maybe it'll be a silver lining in an otherwise dark cloud ✨. But what about justice? When will they finally get the answers they deserve? πŸ€”

omg can u believe this is dragging on for like a year already? 🀯 i feel so bad for bob lees fam, especially scout who's been through so much πŸ’” like how r they even supposed to heal when justice hasn't been served yet? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ and what's up with the court reporters being all uncooperative?! πŸ˜’ dan shriro better do somethin cuz this delay is gettin outta hand πŸ•°οΈ i hope scout's non-profit thing takes off tho, that sounds like a really great way to honor her dad πŸ’•

Ugh, this whole situation is so messed up 🀯🚨. I mean, you'd think after being found guilty, it'd be a no-brainer to get a sentence already... but nope! 😩 The case just keeps dragging on and on. It's like they're trying to make everyone wait even longer for some kind of closure.

And poor Krista Lee is just getting all emotional about it πŸ’”. I get it, she's grieving and needs help, but can't we all just move forward at this point? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ I mean, the DA says justice has to be served quickly, so like, what's taking so long?! ⏱️ The fact that there are missing court transcripts is just a huge roadblock right now.

But hey, I do love that Scout Lee is using her dad's memory to create this non-profit organization 🌟. Maybe it'll make all the difference for people who've lost loved ones to violence or loss. Fingers crossed we get some resolution soon... or at least before April! 🀞
