Prosecutors have filed murder charges against a 19-year-old suspect in connection with a deadly fire at an apartment complex in Downers Grove that left a pregnant woman dead and her unborn child potentially harmed. Nedas Revuckas, of Westmont, is facing multiple counts including first-degree murder, armed robbery, aggravated arson, intentional homicide of an unborn child, and animal cruelty.
According to authorities, the blaze occurred on Monday evening at approximately 6:10 p.m. in the 2300 block of Ogden Avenue. Responding officers found 30-year-old Eliza Morales inside the apartment, suffering from severe sharp force injuries, which ultimately proved fatal. A second individual was treated for smoke inhalation and hospitalized.

this just keeps getting worse and worse - a young mom with an unborn kid is dead and it's all because some messed up dude decided to set fire to her apartment 
like what was going through his head? no regard for human life at all. the fact that he's being charged with animal cruelty too... his pet should've been safe from him, but clearly he didn't care about anything except himself. and now we gotta deal with the trauma this has put on her family and friends 
it just feels like another senseless tragedy in a world that already seems to have lost its way.
I'm all for the authorities trying to figure out what happened and getting justice for Eliza and her unborn child - but it's just so devastating that this had to happen in our community.

. it's like a nightmare that nobody wants to wake up from. i think we need to talk about how mental health can affect people, especially young adults who are already dealing with so many stressors in life. maybe nedas revuckas was struggling with something and this fire was his last resort? or was it something more sinister? idk, but one thing is for sure, justice needs to be served

. I mean, it's not going to bring back Eliza or her baby, but at least we can try to make a difference in some way. And think about all the amazing work that the authorities are doing behind the scenes to investigate and build a case against him – they're truly heroes in their own right

this whole thing just feels like a real-life horror movie. I mean, can you imagine walking into your apartment and being greeted with flames? It's just so... random 
. As for Revuckas, I don't know what to think yet - did he do this on purpose or was it some kind of crazy accident? Either way, the fact that a human life is lost is just devastating 
anyway, hope revuckas gets what's coming to him but at the same time, you gotta wonder if he's really thinking about the consequences of his actions or is he just lost in the moment?
