NASA Sets Briefings for SpaceX Crew-12 Mission to Space Station - NASA

NASA Announces Briefings for SpaceX Crew-12 Mission to the International Space Station

The US space agency will hold a pair of news conferences on January 30th to discuss its upcoming crew rotation mission to the International Space Station, dubbed Crew-12. The first briefing, scheduled for 11am EST, will focus on final launch preparations and will be streamed live on NASA's YouTube channel.

Following that, at 1pm EST, the crew members of SpaceX's Crew-12 mission - including astronauts Jessica Meir, Jack Hathaway, Sophie Adenot, and cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev - will participate in a virtual news conference. The event will also be broadcast on NASA's YouTube channel.

Crew-12 is set to launch aboard a SpaceX Dragon spacecraft on the company's Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. The mission aims to carry NASA astronauts Meir and Hathaway, along with ESA astronaut Adenot and Roscosmos cosmonaut Fedyaev, to the orbiting laboratory.

According to NASA officials, this will be the crew's second long-duration stay aboard the ISS. The mission is seen as an important step forward in advancing the launch of Crew-12 from its original target date of February 15th.

Representatives from NASA and SpaceX are scheduled to participate in both briefings, along with other experts involved in the mission. Details about the event can be found on NASA's website, including information on how to join by phone or attend in person at the agency's Johnson Space Center in Houston.

πŸš€πŸ‘₯ I'm kinda worried about this crew rotation thingy... I mean, don't get me wrong, it's super cool that we're gonna see these astronauts and cosmonauts up close and all 😊 but what if something goes awry? Like, what if the Dragon spacecraft has some issues and can't make it to space on time? πŸ€” I've been following this for a while now and I know NASA's trying their best but... we should be prepared for anything, right? πŸ’‘ Maybe they're just being extra cautious or maybe there's more going on that we don't know about πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

I'm super stoked for Crew-12! πŸš€πŸ’« This is gonna be a big deal for space exploration and it's awesome that we get to see these astronauts up close and personal. I've been following the whole NASA thing for years, and it's crazy to think about how far they've come. The idea of having humans living on the ISS for extended periods is mind-blowing - can you imagine just chillin' in space for months? πŸ˜‚ And it's not just about the astronauts, either... I mean, have you seen those SpaceX rockets take off? It's like magic, dude! ✨ But what really gets me excited is that this mission could be a huge step towards establishing a permanent human presence in space. The possibilities are endless, and I'm hyped to see where this journey takes us πŸš€

πŸš€ SpaceX is really making progress with their crew rotations πŸ™Œ. It's awesome that they're able to make this happen without too much drama. The ISS is going to be lit with four new faces soon 🀩! Can't wait to see these astronauts and cosmonauts in action, it's going to be a wild ride πŸ’₯.

Man, I'm just thinking, what does it mean for us to send humans back up into space? It's like we're reaching out for something beyond our own little lives, you know? πŸš€ We're not just talking about advancing tech or pushing the boundaries of science, but also about our humanity. Are we doing this to better ourselves, or are we doing it because we can't help but explore?

I mean, think about it, we put these four humans on a spaceship and send them up into orbit for weeks at a time. What does that say about us? That we're capable of greatness? Or that we're just trying to escape our problems? It's like, what are we really searching for up there?

And what happens when they get back down? Are they gonna be the same people who left, or have they changed in some way because of their experience? We're not just talking about space travel, we're talking about human transformation. That's a pretty deep question if you ask me... πŸ€”

I gotta say, I'm kinda surprised they're having these press conferences so early πŸ€”. Don't get me wrong, it's awesome that SpaceX and NASA are working together on this mission, but why can't we just chill for a sec before the crew takes off? Like, do we really need all the drama and hype now? 🚫 Can't they just send out a simple press release like normal people? πŸ˜’

πŸ€” omg i cant wait for crew 12!! its so cool that nasa and spacex are working together on this mission. meir and hathaway are gonna be on iss for like a whole year now which is super impressive. and we get to watch the launch live πŸš€πŸ‘½ i hope they have some cool experiments or projects planned while they're up there tho πŸ€”

omg u r gonna love this!!! πŸš€πŸ‘½ i cant even imagine how epic it is going to be for these astronauts to travel to iss... their lives are about to get so out of this world!! πŸ˜‚ meanwhile, back on earth, we should all just take a moment to appreciate the ppl working super hard behind the scenes making all this happen. its not just about reaching space, its about pushing boundaries & making progress πŸš€πŸ’ͺ

πŸš€ This is so cool! I love that NASA and SpaceX are working together again 🀝. The Crew-12 mission is going to be a huge step forward for space exploration, especially with it being the crew's second long-duration stay on the ISS 🌌. It's awesome that they're able to have a team of astronauts from different countries like the US, ESA, and Russia all working together as a crew πŸ‘₯. I hope the launch goes smoothly and everything runs according to plan πŸš€πŸ’«.

lol what's up with all these space missions πŸš€β€β™‚οΈ?! NASA is getting more and more organized I guess, gonna hold a whole briefing for the Crew-12 mission πŸ“ΊπŸ‘₯. gotta love how they're making it live on YouTube too πŸ’», so we can watch the astronauts prep for launch πŸ˜…. It's like a giant game of space chess, each move building up to something bigger and better πŸ€”. SpaceX is racking up the wins with Crew-12, hope they don't mess this one up πŸš«πŸ’£. And it's nice to see some new faces on the ISS too πŸ‘½πŸ‘₯, gotta keep pushing the boundaries of space exploration πŸ’¨. Bring it on! πŸ”₯

πŸš€ I'm loving this news! Crew-12 is like, totally pushing the boundaries of space exploration and collaboration between nations πŸŒŽπŸ’«. It's amazing to see astronauts from NASA, ESA, and Roscosmos coming together for a mission that benefits everyone. The fact that they're having virtual and live briefings so we can follow along is pretty cool too πŸ“ΊπŸ‘. I'm curious to know more about the challenges they'll face during their stay on the ISS and how this mission will contribute to advancing our understanding of space travel πŸ’‘. Can't wait to see what kind of insights they share with us! πŸ€”

I'm hyped for Crew-12! πŸš€ It's so cool that we're getting a live stream of the virtual news conference, I'll def be tuning in to watch those astronauts and cosmonauts chat with the press πŸ’¬. The ISS is like our ultimate space lab, right? And it's awesome that they're doing this mission twice, I guess it means they're figuring out some new tech or something πŸ€–. What do you think about SpaceX pushing back their original launch date? Is it better to have more time to prep or just get the party started already? πŸ’¨

🌞 just saw that NASA is hosting briefings for SpaceX Crew-12 and I'm beyond excited! πŸš€ it's amazing to think about these astronauts getting ready to launch into space, not once but TWICE! 🀯 Jessica Meir and Jack Hathaway will be on board for a second time, which is crazy considering the risks they'll face. And can you believe this mission is happening at all? It's like we're one step closer to making humanity an multi-planetary species! 🌟 I hope these briefings are as informative as they sound – I'm really looking forward to seeing more about what it takes to prepare for a trip to the ISS.

It's like, totally mind-blowing that humans have come so far already & now they're pushing the boundaries even further πŸ’«! I'm also super excited 'cause it's gonna be a great opportunity for us on Earth to learn more about space exploration & how we can improve our lives through it πŸŒŽπŸ’‘. Plus, who wouldn't want to witness the next chapter of space travel in real-time? πŸ“Ί It's like, the ultimate thrill ride! Can't wait to tune in on Jan 30th & watch the briefings go down!

omg u guys i cant even think of a more exciting thing than space travel lol so yeah this crew-12 mission is gonna be huge! its like the next big step for us humans reaching into the cosmos πŸš€πŸ‘½ i mean have u seen those space vids on youtube? theyre literally breathtaking. anyway back to crew-12 theyve got a pretty cool lineup of astronauts & cosmonauts on board, cant wait to see them in action 🀩 and its awesome that nasa is streamin the briefings live on youtube so everyone can tune in & learn more about this mission πŸ’»πŸ‘

So SpaceX is trying to flex its muscles now that they've got this crew rotation mission going πŸš€. I'm not sure if it's a good idea for them to be doing all the heavy lifting when it comes to getting NASA astronauts up to the ISS, though - doesn't that take away from their own capabilities and innovation? And what's the real motivation behind pushing the launch date back to February 15th? Is there some sort of pressure from Congress or the public that they're trying to placate by making it happen sooner?

And let's not forget about the international aspect of this mission - we've got cosmonauts and ESA astronauts flying alongside NASA crew members. That's a bold move, but it also raises questions about cooperation and coordination between space agencies 🀝. Is this really a step forward in global space exploration, or is it just another PR stunt?
