NASA stage show explores "outer" outer space with Henson's Fraggles

NASA's Staging Show 'Fraggle Rock: A Space-y Adventure' Brings Fraggles and Outer Outer Space Together in Theatrical Production.

A creative collaboration between NASA and the Jim Henson Company has led to an immersive theatrical experience bringing beloved characters from Fraggle Rock into outer space. Uncle Traveling Matt, a familiar figure from the original 1983 series, now serves as the main character in a new stage show titled 'Fraggle Rock: A Space-y Adventure'. This production combines elements of both NASA's deep space exploration plans and the whimsical world of Fraggle Rock.

The story begins at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, where Gobo, Red, and their friends are introduced to the audience. Meanwhile, Uncle Traveling Matt is on a journey through outer space and sends postcards back to his nephew Gobo, sparking curiosity among the other Fraggles about what lies beyond Fraggle Rock.

In this theatrical production, the actors portray not only themselves but also other characters, such as Doozers, which are brought to life in both their full-body puppet form and a smaller puppet size. This creative adaptation allowed for engaging performances and immersive storytelling.

To maintain scale, the Fraggles were up-sized while one of the Doozer puppets was miniaturized. This led to a visually appealing production that blended elements from Fraggle Rock and NASA's space exploration mission.

John Tartaglia, who directed, wrote, choreographed, and voiced Gobo for the show, explained how their universe aligns with NASA's goals: "Our two worlds that on paper wouldn't seem connected, made a lot of sense to connect."

🀣 I mean, what's next? A Star Wars and Sesame Street mashup? πŸš€πŸ‘Ά It's actually kinda cool that they're teaming up with NASA for this. The idea of Fraggle Rock characters in space is just plain weird enough to work πŸ˜…. And I love how they upsized the Fraggles and miniaturized one Doozer - it sounds like a total production design mess, but somehow it works πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ. It's a fun way to bring the whimsy of Fraggle Rock into the vastness of space. Maybe this is the start of something epic... or just a wild, weird ride πŸš€

I'm actually stoked to see what this collaboration brings πŸš€. I think it's awesome that they're using Fraggle Rock characters in a spacey adventure, it's like whoa! The idea of the Fraggles exploring outer space and sending postcards back to their friends on Fraggle Rock is just so cool πŸ’‘. I love how the production team used puppets to bring the Doozers to life, it's like they're really there πŸ€–. It's also great that John Tartaglia is voicing Gobo, he must be having a blast playing a character in space πŸš€. Overall, this show sounds super fun and I'm gonna have to check it out 🎟️.

πŸš€πŸ’« this is actually kinda cool that they're teaming up fraggle rock & space exploration - it's like nasa's all about exploring the universe but who explores the fun stuff too?! πŸ˜‚ the idea of uncle traveling matt sending postcards from space & having his nephew gobo try to figure out what's going on is pretty hilarious πŸ“²πŸ‘½ i'm not sure how they pulled off the Doozer puppets, but it sounds like it added a cool visual element to the show πŸ€”

This whole thing just smells like more government money being wasted πŸ€‘. I mean, who thought it was a good idea to spend taxpayer dollars on a theatrical production featuring some nostalgic kids' show and NASA? It's just another example of how out-of-touch the government is with what really matters to people - their wallets. And let's be real, this isn't even about promoting STEM education or inspiring kids to pursue careers in space exploration (although, I guess that's a nice bonus πŸ€“). No, it's just a fancy PR stunt to distract us from the real issues facing our country... like the national debt πŸ’Έ!

Ugh, this is just too much... 🀯 I mean, what's next? A theatrical production about robots in space? πŸš€ It's all about cashing in on nostalgia, if you ask me. The Fraggles and Doozers are cute and all, but they're not exactly the most realistic characters for a show about outer space exploration. And don't even get me started on the miniaturized Doozer puppet... that just looks like a weird prop to me πŸ€ͺ

I also wonder how much of this production is actually "creative" collaboration between NASA and Jim Henson Company, or if it's just some marketing gimmick to sell tickets. I mean, come on, Uncle Traveling Matt as the main character? It sounds like a joke 🀣

this is so cool πŸš€ i mean, fraggles in space? it's like something from a dream! and can you imagine the merch opportunities? fraggle astronaut gear? πŸ›ΈπŸ˜‚ but seriously, i love that they're combining science and imagination like this. it's great for kids (and let's be real, adults too) to learn about space while having fun with their favorite characters πŸŒ πŸ‘½

omg, Fraggle Rock in space? πŸš€πŸ‘½ it's like they took the most epic adventure ever (which is already finding the last piece of cheese in Fraggle Rock) and just blasted off into outer space. I mean, who needs a spaceship when you got Uncle Traveling Matt's awesome travels? πŸ˜‚ this show better have some serious Fraggles-ational special effects or I'm outta here! 🚫 also, can someone please tell me what the deal is with the Doozers getting miniaturized? were they just trying to fit them in a space ship or something? πŸ€”

OMG, I'm so done with this Fraggle Rock in Space thing πŸš€πŸ˜’. I mean, what's next? The Muppets going to Mars? It just feels like a gimmick to me... Like, how are they even trying to make it work? The puppets look so tiny and awkward up on stage and the storyline is just kinda...there. NASA's got some serious cool tech but let's not lose sight of what we're doing here, folks πŸ™„. I'm all about space exploration, but can't we focus on making actual progress instead of trying to make a buck off our favorite childhood shows? πŸ€‘

just watched this Fraggle Rock space show at nasa and omg it was so cool!! πŸš€πŸ‘½ they had the cutest little Doozer puppets and uncle traveling matt was hilarious πŸ˜‚ and i love how they combined NASA's space stuff with fraggles it made for an epic show! πŸ‘ also, did you know that the Fraggles were upsized while one of the doozer puppets was miniaturized? genius move by nasa to make it visually appealing 🀩 https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/nasas-new-fraggles-space-show-is-a-groovy-ride-n1241333

πŸš€πŸ’« This is so cool! I'm loving the idea of Fraggle Rock characters in space 🀩. The way they brought out Uncle Traveling Matt and Gobo as main characters is genius. And can we talk about how awesome it is that the Doozers got to be miniaturized for the show? It's a great example of how creative adaptation can make something truly special. I'm also loving the fact that NASA and Jim Henson Company collaborated on this project, it's amazing what can happen when creativity meets curiosity πŸ€“.

πŸš€ OMG, I'm totally stoked about this new Fraggle Rock stage show! It's so cool to see my favorite characters from childhood in outer space 🀩. I mean, who wouldn't want to explore the galaxy with Gobo and his friends? But what really gets me is how it's all connected to NASA's mission - like, they're actually using this show to inspire kids about science and exploration 🌟. It's awesome to see entertainment and education colliding in such a creative way! I wonder if we'll get any real-life space travel updates from the show πŸš€πŸ‘½

I gotta say, this theatrical production sounds kinda weird but in a good way? I mean, Fraggle Rock and space exploration might not be the most obvious combo, but hey, it's actually kinda genius. The idea of the Fraggles exploring outer space is already pretty wild, but adding Uncle Traveling Matt to the mix takes it to a whole new level πŸ˜‚.

I'm also loving the creative adaptations they did for the production. Bringing Doozers to life in both full-body puppet form and miniaturized versions was a great touch - it shows that the creators are willing to think outside the box (or in this case, Fraggle Rock πŸ€ͺ).

It's interesting to see how the production aligns with NASA's goals, too. It's not just about space exploration; it's also about inspiring the next generation of scientists and explorers πŸ’«. And who knows? Maybe one day we'll have a Fraggles' space program πŸš€πŸ‘½... Wouldn't that be something?

πŸš€ OMG this sounds like so much fun! I love Fraggle Rock from my childhood days & now its like whoa they brought the characters into outer space!!! 🀩 how did u come up with this idea? and the Doozers part is genius πŸ€“, mini vs big puppets, its like a visual puzzle πŸ‘€ cant wait to see this show live! πŸ‘

I'm actually kinda fascinated by this theatrical production πŸ€”. I mean, who would've thought Fraggle Rock characters in outer space? It's like they took the whimsy of those Muppet-like creatures and brought it into a whole new galaxy πŸš€. And I love that they up-sized the Fraggles while miniaturizing one Doozer puppet - it was all about balance, you know? The creativity is pretty cool 😎. I'm curious to see how this show brings those beloved characters together with NASA's space exploration plans... will be interesting to see if it sparks some inspiration in people 🌠

I'm not sure I'd go gaga over this space-y adventure πŸš€πŸ‘½. Like, what's next? A production of The Muppet Babies in the depths of Mars? It seems like NASA is just trying to promote its brand and reach a new audience with some cute, colorful characters πŸ€”. Is there any real scientific value or educational content here? πŸ“š I need some solid sources on this one... where's the proof that this show is actually teaching kids about space exploration and STEM? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

I'm low-key impressed by this collaboration between NASA and Jim Henson Company. I mean, who doesn't love Fraggle Rock? 🀩 It's dope to see these iconic characters in outer space, but at the same time, it feels like they're using science as a metaphor for their adventures or something πŸš€πŸ‘½. The way they combined elements from both worlds was actually pretty neat. I think it's cool that they used puppets and miniaturization to scale things down and make the show more engaging. πŸ‘

πŸš€πŸ‘½πŸ’« OMG I'm so stoked about this new theatrical production! Fraggle Rock and space exploration might sound like an odd combo but trust me it's OUT. OF. THIS. WORLD 🌠! The way they blended the whimsical world of Fraggles with NASA's deep space plans is pure GENIUS πŸ”₯. I love how Uncle Traveling Matt gets to explore outer space and send postcards back home πŸ“¨, it's so relatable. And can we talk about the Doozers? πŸ€– They're literally brought to life in both full-body puppet form and mini size 🎭! The whole production is so visually stunning and immersive I'm totally down for a night out at the theatre ⚑️!
