NFL Divisional Round straight up, against the spread, and survivor pool picks

NFL Divisional Round Straight Up, Against the Spread, and Survivor Pool Picks

In a highly anticipated set of matchups this weekend, bettors will be hoping to capitalize on these intriguing contests. Here are my predictions for each game, as well as some analysis of why I'm taking certain teams.

**Bills at Broncos (-1.5)**

A closely contested matchup is expected between the Bills and Broncos. The Broncos have been known for their strong pass rush all season, racking up 68 sacks to lead the league. Meanwhile, Josh Allen will be looking to prove himself in his second-ever NFL playoff game. Despite my reservations about Bo Nix's ability to perform under pressure, I'm willing to take Allen against an opponent who can't quite keep pace with him.

**Prediction:** Bills +1.5 (I'll trust the quarterback)

**49ers at Seahawks (-7)**

This one looks like a blowout in favor of the Seahawks. The 49ers suffered a significant injury setback when George Kittle went down with a torn Achilles, and I'm not sure how they'll recover in time for this matchup. The Seahawks have been dominating their opponents on both sides of the ball, and I think it's likely that they will run up the score against San Francisco.

**Prediction:** Seahawks -7

**Texans at Patriots (-3)**

A tough one to call here, as the Texans have a stout defense but lack a reliable running game. The Patriots, meanwhile, are always difficult opponents, especially on short rest after a Thursday night win over the Jets. However, I think C.J. Stroud's tendency to go cold will give me pause.

**Prediction:** Patriots -3

**Rams (-3.5) at Bears**

Bears history shows that they have a knack for coming from behind in games, but this matchup looks like a trap game for them. The Rams are on the verge of clinching a top seed in the NFC and will be looking to get back on track after a disappointing loss last week.

**Prediction:** Rams -3.5

**Survivor Pool Pick**

Given my confidence in each team's chances, I've decided to take an AFC team this week (Texans) and another next week (Bills). The key to winning a survivor pool is choosing the right team to advance to the next round, rather than just picking the winners outright.

This weekend: Texans +3

Next week: Bills +1.5

**Overall Record**

After this week's games, I'll be at 52-58-2 against the spread for the season, with a 178-97-1 straight-up record and a 0.646 win percentage in the playoffs.

* 2024 Season Straight Up: 205-80
* 2024 Season Against the Spread: 62-44-3

the cubs aren't gonna trade kris bryant anytime soon πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ i mean, they said that last year and this year and next year too lol but seriously tho, chicago's got a good thing goin with kyber and the rest of the team so why fix what ain't broke?

I'm low-key surprised by how much I'm gonna love the Bills game this weekend 🀯. People say they can't stop Josh Allen, but I think Bo Nix is actually pretty underrated as a QB and he's definitely got the potential to make some huge plays when it matters most πŸ’₯ Plus, the Broncos have been struggling on D all season, so I'm expecting big things from the Bills 🏈.

I'm kinda stoked to see how these matchups play out this weekend 🀩. I think the Bills taking the Broncos by 1.5 is a solid pick - Josh Allen's got game πŸ’ͺ. And with the Seahawks looking like they're gonna run up the score on the 49ers, I'll take Seattle to win big 🏈. The Texans' defense is lookin' strong, but I'm not so sure about C.J. Stroud's hot streak holdin' up against the Pats... Patriots -3 seems like a good bet πŸ’Έ.

The Rams are always tough on short rest, and with Bears history showin' they can come from behind, it's hard to pick 'em to win πŸ€”. But I think they've got this one in the bag - Rams -3.5 is lookin' like a safe bet πŸ“ˆ.

I'm also intrigued by the survivor pool idea... takin' the Texans and Bills as your teams could be a solid strategy πŸ’‘. But we'll just have to wait and see how it all plays out this weekend!

the spread is so overrated πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ, it's all about which teams are actually gonna show up to play. like, 49ers -7 against a team that's been injured? gimme the Seahawks money πŸ’Έ and take the points! also, patriots -3 against the texans? the patriots have been playing the jets on thursday nights and i'm pretty sure they're tanking by the weekend πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

The Bills +1.5 is a solid pick, imo πŸ€”. Allen's got this under pressure πŸ’ͺ. I'm also feeling the 49ers -7, they're gonna take it to San Francisco πŸš€. And on the flip side, C.J. Stroud might chill in that Patriots game 😴. But for me, the Rams -3.5 is a no-brainer, Bears are all about coming from behind πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

I'm so confused about these NFL teams πŸ€”... like, what even is a survivor pool? Is it like a fantasy football thingy but with actual money on the line? πŸ€‘ I've been trying to get into that stuff but I just don't understand it yet... can someone explain it to me in simple terms pls? 😊

I'm not loving the Patriots pick πŸ€”. C.J. Stroud has been hot lately and I think he can take down the Pats' D. Plus, the Texans defense is actually pretty solid, so I'd say they're a good bet to cover πŸ€‘. And on the other side of the coin, the Bills are due for a win after getting robbed in that last game 😀. The Broncos have been running all over everyone except Kansas City, and Josh Allen's been playing lights out lately. So, taking Buffalo at +1.5 seems like a solid play to me πŸ’ͺ

πŸ€” I'm kinda surprised they're giving the Broncos so much respect, considering Josh Allen is about to prove himself in a huge game. 🎯 The Bills have been quietly building momentum all season, and their passing game could be the difference maker here. Meanwhile, the Seahawks are looking like a blowout candidate against the 49ers... how long can they keep up that dominant form? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

omg i'm so nervous about this weekend's nfl games 🀯 i've got my squad watching the bills vs broncos game and we're all rooting for them to win πŸ’ͺ i mean josh allen is a beast on the field but the broncos pass rush is pretty scary 😬 what if he gets sacked like 5 times? πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

anyway, i'm also super hyped about the texans vs patriots game πŸŽ‰ c.j. stroud's gotta bring his A-game or else they're gonna get destroyed πŸ’₯ and can we talk about how much i love the survivor pool?! πŸ€‘ who's with me on the bills? 🀝

I'm still trying to wrap my head around how quickly these football teams can shift momentum from one week to the next 🀯. It just goes to show that in any competitive environment, even the slightest deviation can lead to a swing in fortunes. Like when you're on a roll at work or studying for an exam – everything starts to feel within reach, but then suddenly, it all unravels and you're back to square one 😬

Looking at these matchups, I'm reminded of how our perceptions of a team's abilities can be so... fleeting? Like Bo Nix, the Bills' quarterback, who just seems like an afterthought until now πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. But Josh Allen is different – he's got this presence about him that makes you trust him even when things aren't going his way πŸ’ͺ.

And what does it say about our own lives when we're so invested in the outcome of a game? Do we really think that winning or losing will have some profound impact on our personal growth, or are we just looking for a distraction from the inevitable struggles we all face? πŸ€”

Man, I'm loving this Texans +3 pick πŸ€‘πŸˆ, C.J. Stroud's got some major pressure to perform here and I don't think he'll be able to live up to the hype... meanwhile, the Patriots are always a solid bet on short rest, Bill Belichick is like a mastermind coach 😎.

And can you believe the Seahawks are gonna run all over the 49ers? That George Kittle injury is huge for San Francisco πŸ€•. But on the other hand, I'm not counting out the Bills just yet, Josh Allen's got some serious game πŸ’ͺ.

I gotta give it to the Rams -3.5 pick too, Bears history does show they can come back from behind but they're gonna need a major miracle this week 😳.

Overall, these predictions are spot on for me... 52-58-2 against the spread is no joke! 🀯

the thing about survivor pools is they can get super intense especially when you're down to one pick πŸ˜… i was in this one with my friends last year and we all ended up having a pretty good run but then someone else jumped out at the right time 🀯 anyway i think it's crazy that the author is going with the Texans +3 and Bills +1.5 for their picks they seem like decent choices but you never know what can happen in the playoffs πŸ’₯

lol bill's gotta take this one πŸ€” i mean bo nix is a wild card but he's got game! 🎯 josh allen might struggle against that pass rush tho πŸ’¨ 49ers getting destroyed by seahawks is gonna be a thing this weekend 🚫 and patriots gonna crush the texans for sure πŸ’₯

I'm loving this Bills vs Broncos game 🀩, it's gonna be a shootout! I think Allen is gonna light up that defense like a Christmas tree πŸŽ„, and Bo Nix will be lucky if he sees the ball more than 5 times πŸ˜‚.

As for the Seahawks vs 49ers, man... SF is down by their star tight end, what can you say? It's like they're playing with one hand tied behind their back πŸ”ͺ. The Seahawks are gonna blow it out for sure.

And don't even get me started on the Texans vs Patriots game 🀯, I'm all over C.J. Stroud going cold πŸ”₯. I love a good underdog story, but this one's gonna be tough to pull off.

The Rams vs Bears is a trap game alert! 🚨 Chicago is always gonna be coming from behind in these games, and LA's just gonna get back on track after that loss last week.

For my survivor pool pick, I'm taking the Texans +3. They've gotta go through Philly first tho πŸ˜….

Overall record is pretty sweet, but can't wait to see what this weekend brings! πŸŽ‰

i think its crazy how much pressure a quarterback can be under, like Josh Allen is gonna have to perform in his 2nd ever playoff game and yet hes still my pick 🀯 the bills +1.5 is such a sweet spot im so down for it πŸ’Έ

I don’t usually comment but I gotta say, it seems like some of these picks are pretty bold 🀯. Taking the Seahawks -7 against the 49ers is a big risk, especially with Kittle out. And going against C.J. Stroud might not pay off either... πŸ€‘ But at the same time, the Texans do have that solid defense and the Patriots always seem tough on short rest πŸ’ͺ. As for me, I wouldn’t touch the Bills +1.5 pick unless they're on a major discount πŸ˜….

Ugh, can't believe they're putting a -1.5 spread on a Bills vs Broncos game already? Like, it's only January and we still have to make it through conference finals πŸ€―πŸ˜’. And what's with the "strong pass rush" line for the Broncos? Did someone actually watch their games this season or just rely on some old stats from last year? πŸ“ŠπŸ‘Ž

I'm all about the Bills +1.5 against the Broncos, I think Josh Allen is gonna light it up πŸˆπŸ’¨ his pass rush woes against Denver won't cut it. Meanwhile, the 49ers are in trouble without George Kittle and I don't see how they can keep pace with the Seahawks. And on the other side of that spread, the Texans +3 vs the Patriots might be a trap game for them πŸ€”
