No ICE immigration operations planned in Bay Area during Super Bowl, officials say

No planned ICE immigration operations during Super Bowl in Bay Area, officials confirm.

A Tuesday press conference involving NFL leaders and law enforcement revealed that no Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations were scheduled to take place around the time of the Super Bowl weekend in the Bay Area. The statement was made by NFL Chief of Security Cathy Lanier, who also noted that a high security designation had been assigned to the event, which entitled the NFL security team and local police departments to additional support from federal law enforcement.

Law enforcement leaders from Santa Clara, San Francisco, and San Jose reaffirmed their preparedness for Super Bowl weekend. Each department emphasized the importance of public awareness, urging anyone with information about suspicious activity to report it immediately.

Jeff Branigan, lead federal coordinator for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), said that the partnership between DHS and local authorities was normal and not a result of any planned ICE operations. He also confirmed that there would be an increase in federal personnel across the region but declined to provide details about the specific operations being conducted.

The absence of planned ICE enforcement activities has been welcomed by immigrant rights groups, which had organized rallies earlier in the week to convey their opposition to the presence of ICE in the Bay Area during the Super Bowl.

๐Ÿค” I'm kinda surprised they're not doing anything major around the Super Bowl, you know? Like, it's a huge event and all but... still doesn't mean we gotta go around assuming no one's watching. It's just gonna be some extra security presence, probably. ICE is already super present in the Bay Area anyway, so I don't think this is necessarily a big deal or anything ๐Ÿ˜

๐Ÿค finally some good news for a change! I'm so relieved to hear that there won't be any planned ICE ops around the Super Bowl ๐Ÿˆ. It's just common sense to know that one of the biggest events in sports brings in a ton of visitors and it's only fair that everyone feels welcome & safe. The fact that all these law enforcement leaders are on board with increased support from federal authorities is music to my ears ๐Ÿ‘

So like they cancelled the big immigration ops around the Super Bowl in Bay Area? ๐Ÿค” That's pretty interesting. I guess it shows how coordinated everything is between law enforcement and federal agencies, right? Like, no surprise that local police and DHS are working together to keep things safe during a huge event.

It's also good that they're being super clear about what's going on and why there aren't any ICE ops planned for the Super Bowl. I mean, it makes sense that people would be worried if some sort of operation was gonna go down unexpectedly. And yep, immigrant rights groups are happy about this - totally reasonable! Can't say I'm an expert or anything, but it all seems pretty standard and safe to me ๐Ÿ˜Š

YEAH, IT'S ABOUT TIME SOMEBODY CALLED OUT THE ICE PEOPLE FOR TRYING TO CRAMP THE STYLE OF THE BIG GAME! ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ I MEAN, CAN YOU IMAGINE SHOWING UP AT A FOOTBALL GAMES WITH ARMED AGENTS LOOKING FOR PEOPLE JUST BECAUSE THEY'RE IMMIGRANTS? IT'S LIKE, COME ON, WE'RE TRYING TO HAVE SOME FUN OVER HERE! ๐Ÿ˜‚ THE PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN DHS AND LOCAL AUTHORITIES IS FINE AND DUCE, BUT LET'S KEEP THE ICE PEOPLE OUT OF OUR BUSINESS, YOU KNOW? ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™‚๏ธ

๐Ÿค” the lack of ICE ops around the Super Bowl is a good thing for me personally... i've got family who's undocumented and they'd be extra nervous if there were raids or checks happening during the big game ๐Ÿˆ. but at the same time, it's nice to see everyone working together to make sure public safety is prioritized ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ. as a retiree, i worry about people getting caught up in the fear of ICE and losing their sense of security... can't help but feel like we're all just trying to live our lives, you know? ๐Ÿ™

I feel like there's a huge difference between what they're saying now and what was happening last year ๐Ÿค”. I mean, remember when those same law enforcement leaders were all about keeping an eye on immigrant communities? Now it seems like they're more concerned with the Super Bowl security than ICE ops... or maybe that's just a clever PR move to avoid controversy ๐Ÿ˜. Either way, I'm not buying it. Those immigrant rights groups didn't just rally for nothing - there's gotta be more to this story ๐Ÿ“ฐ. What do you guys think is really going on here?

I guess this means we can all just enjoy our nachos and tacos without worrying about being deported... or not? ๐Ÿ˜‚ On a more serious note, I'm glad the authorities decided to focus on keeping everyone safe for the big game instead of causing any unnecessary stress on the community. It's good to see law enforcement agencies putting aside their differences for the greater good โ€“ even if it means keeping the ICE presence at bay... or should I say, "touchdown" for the immigrant rights groups? ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿ‘

I'm thinking there's gotta be more to this story than what they're letting on ๐Ÿค‘. I mean, no planned ICE ops during the Super Bowl? That just seems too convenient. What if it was all a setup to distract us from something else? Like, maybe there's gonna be some big operation happening behind the scenes and we just don't know about it yet? It sounds like they're playing both sides, you know? The NFL and local authorities are saying everything is cool, but then you got these federal folks showing up without giving away too much... it's all a bit suspicious in my book ๐Ÿค”. And what about those rallies? Were those just a clever distraction to get people's attention while the real action went down? I'm not buying it that there wasn't anything planned. Something doesn't add up here ๐Ÿ’ญ

I donโ€™t usually comment on these kinds of things but... I think it's weird that there's always some kind of drama around the Super Bowl ๐Ÿค”. Like, can't people just enjoy a game without all this controversy? But for real tho, I'm glad that no planned ICE ops are happening in the Bay Area during the Super Bowl weekend ๐Ÿ˜Œ. It's not right that immigrants have to live with the fear of being deported or harassed just because they're here visiting their families or celebrating a major sporting event ๐Ÿˆ. And props to all the immigrant rights groups who spoke out against this stuff, it takes guts ๐Ÿ’ช. Maybe we can all just try to be more understanding and welcoming towards people from different backgrounds, you know? ๐Ÿค

omg, finally some good news ๐Ÿ™Œ! i was really worried that super bowl weekend would be a nightmare for our friends who are already stressed about being targeted by ice ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™€๏ธ. but it sounds like law enforcement leaders in the bay area are prepared and ready to keep everyone safe ๐Ÿ”’. i'm glad to see that public awareness is going to be a big part of the strategy too - we all need to look out for each other ๐Ÿค. let's hope this means that the ice presence in the area will be minimal or non-existent during the games ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿ’ช

finally some good news for once ๐Ÿ™. it's about time someone acknowledged that people shouldn't be scared to go to an event just because they think "bad guys" might show up. i mean, come on, ice is like the ultimate buzzkill. can't even enjoy a football game without having to worry about getting scooped up by the authorities ๐Ÿคฃ. anyway, glad to see the community coming together and speaking out against this kind of thing. hope it stays that way and we don't have any more "surprises" ๐Ÿคž

omg u wont bliev whats happnin!!!! so they cancelled ice ops 4 Superbowl??? thats such a win 4 immigrant rights grups!!! i mean who doesnt want 2 feel safe @ eventz lol but for real tho, its like, can't we all just get along & enjoy the game without fear of deportation?? ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿ˜Ž

I think its pretty cool that no planned ICE ops are gonna happen around the Super Bowl ๐Ÿค. Its like, people should be able to enjoy the game without stressin about immigration stuff, you know? Its a good reminder that even when things seem scary or uncertain, we can still have faith in the system and trust that it's all workin out for the best. And its awesome that local authorities are still prepared, but not because of any ICE ops ๐Ÿšซ. We should all be grateful for the community comin together to keep everyone safe. The fact that immigrant rights groups were able to make their voices heard and have a positive impact is super inspiring too ๐Ÿ’–. It just goes to show that we can disagree without bein disagreeable, and still find common ground ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’•

OMG, I'm like so relieved ๐Ÿ™ that there's no planned ICE ops around the Super Bowl! It's crazy how much attention these events bring to our community ๐Ÿคฏ, and it's awesome that law enforcement is being super transparent about what's going down ๐Ÿ’ก. Cathy Lanier's got this right โ€“ safety is everyone's top priority โš’๏ธ! I'm also loving the solidarity between local authorities and federal law enforcement ๐Ÿ‘ฅ, it shows we're all on the same team ๐ŸŽ‰. Immigrant rights groups are doing their thing, and that's dope ๐Ÿคฉ, let's keep supporting each other through these uncertain times ๐Ÿ’•. One thing that bugged me is why they couldn't spill the beans about the extra federal personnel ๐Ÿค”... maybe it's just some good old-fashioned secrecy ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™€๏ธ?

OMG, like, super cool news ๐Ÿคฉ! No planned ICE ops around the big game? ๐ŸŽ‰ That's, like, totally awesome for everyone involved, you feel me? ๐Ÿ˜Ž I mean, no one wants some tension on game day, right? The NFL and local law enforcement are already on high alert, so to see that extra support from feds is a win-win. Immigrant rights groups were hyped too, with those rallies earlier in the week - it's like, everyone's coming together for a good cause ๐Ÿค! Increased federal presence, but no specific ops? That's like, super clear and transparent ๐Ÿ™Œ. Can't wait to see how the whole thing plays out on game day! ๐Ÿˆ

omg u guys, i was totally freaked out when i heard they were gonna crack down on ppl @ super bowl ๐Ÿคฏ but its actually good 2 hear theres no planned ice ops ๐Ÿ™Œ i mean i know some people r still worried but i think its just a big ol distraction from the real issues ๐Ÿค‘ plus i just saw this vid of cathy lanier talking about it and she seemed really chill lol anyway, i'm so grateful 2 see ppl like us standing up against oppression ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฝ๐ŸŒˆ

๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿ˜ฌ can't believe that no planned ICE ops during the Super Bowl in Bay Area... it's like a big ol' relief bubble burst for all those activists who were protesting ๐Ÿค meanwhile, I'm curious about what kinda "additional support" from federal law enforcement we're talking about ๐Ÿค‘ does that just mean more agents lurking around or actual concrete actions being taken? ๐Ÿ•ต๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ still got my fingers crossed that these increased personnel won't be used to crack down on immigrants ๐Ÿ‘ฅ

๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿ˜ฌ just saw that no ice ops are happening at super bowl ๐Ÿˆ this weekend in bay area... guess that's good news for ppl who dont wanna get caught by immigration authorities ๐Ÿ˜… meanwhile tho, law enforcement is still hyped up about public awareness and suspicious activity reporting... hope they actually pay attention to the community instead of just making empty promises ๐Ÿ’ผ

I'm glad to hear that no planned ICE ops are happening around the Super Bowl ๐Ÿ™Œ! It's super reassuring to know that local law enforcement and the NFL are working together with federal authorities to keep everyone safe, especially for fans who might be from all over the world ๐Ÿˆ๐ŸŒŽ. I think it's awesome that immigrant rights groups got to express their concerns too - it's always good to hear people's voices being heard ๐Ÿ’ฌ. Maybe this is a sign of things changing for the better in our communities? Fingers crossed! ๐Ÿ˜Š
