NTSB investigation: PG&E says crews attempted to alert residents before Hayward gas explosion

I'm really worried about these types of accidents happening in our communities! Like, what if no one was home when that PG&E worker "squeezed off" the main gas line? It's just crazy that they didn't alert everyone inside nearby homes . I mean, we've all seen those news stories where utility crews mess up and it ends in disaster... why can't they just work together with local authorities to keep people safe?! It's not like PG&E doesn't know about the risks, they've been fined so much already for violating safety regulations . We need better systems in place to prevent this kind of thing from happening again

lol what's with these power companies?? they can't even handle a simple gas leak without causing chaos! i mean, 20 minutes is like, forever in emergency situations... and then they have the nerve to turn away firefighters? that's just reckless! and what really gets me is that no one was evacuated, despite knowing multiple people were inside the home when it blew up. talk about a disaster waiting to happen... i'm not surprised PG&E is racking up all these fines and fines

OMG, like what was going on with those PG&E workers? They showed up 20 minutes late and thought they could handle it all by themselves? Like, no way, dude! Firefighters are trained for emergencies, not utility crews. And then they just turned away the firefighters? That's so reckless. I'm just glad no one was killed, but seriously, how hard is it to get in touch with people when you're at a scene?

And what's up with the evacuation order not being issued? Like, multiple people were inside that house and it just... blew up. It's crazy. I'm all for holding PG&E accountable for their actions, but like, this incident was already a disaster waiting to happen.

I mean, have you guys seen those videos of the explosion? It's like something out of a movie, but not in a good way. Gas safety is super important and it's clear that PG&E needs to step up their game. Like, millions of dollars in fines is just not enough...
