On £100k and feeling hard-done-by? It seems absurd – but a cold truth lies beneath | Jason Okundaye

£100k salary not cutting it anymore lol, sounds like a joke. I mean, who wouldn't want to work hard for less and less? It's like they're trying to make us believe we're all just living the dream on our tiny savings from our £2/hour night shifts 🤣. But seriously, what's up with housing prices in London? £553k avg house price is insane! You'd think they'd at least be able to afford a nice spot in Essex or something but nope, they're priced out of their own neighborhoods. It's like the system is designed to keep them from ever being able to live the dream 🤦‍♂️. And don't even get me started on the whole family planning thing... when are we gonna be able to afford a house and start our own families? Not anytime soon, that's for sure 😂.

I'm telling you, £100k salary just doesn't cut it no more 🤷‍♂️. These young professionals are working their butts off and still struggling to make ends meet. The double whammy of losing personal allowance and missing out on free childcare is a big deal 🤯. And let's not forget the housing market, which is literally pricing them out of their own neighborhoods 🏠💸. It's like they're stuck in this never-ending cycle of sacrificing their hard-earned wages for the sake of saving up for something that just keeps moving further away 🚀.

I mean, £39k median annual earnings is still way better than that, but I guess it's not about being grateful for what you've got, but rather wondering how to make ends meet in a world where money just doesn't go as far as it used to 💸🤔. The fact that young people are delaying life milestones like buying their first home or starting a family is a real concern 🙅‍♂️. We need to rethink our priorities and find ways to support these hard-working individuals, because let's face it, they're not exactly swimming in money 💸😬.

£100k isn't even a drop in the ocean for someone living in London 🤯. And yeah, they still have to deal with ridiculous rent prices and leasehold fees 🚨. But what's really sad is that it's not just about them, it's about the whole generation that's being priced out of their own city. They're not exactly struggling, but who can afford a life in London on £39k? 🤔 It's like they're being forced to choose between working for peanuts and living in a cardboard box 📦.

And what's with all these "salary sacrifice schemes" that are just a fancy way of saying "you'll work longer hours and get less pay"? No thanks, I'd rather have my life back 💁‍♀️. The government needs to step up and do something about the rent prices and housing market in this country 🤝. It's not like it's going to fix itself...
