'One snub looms above all others' – the biggest losers of the TV Golden Globes

Golden Globes Snub: The Unseen Losers of Television

The winners at this year's Golden Globes have been revealed, and all has seemed right with the world – after all, adolescence and comedy took centre stage. But delve deeper into the nominations, and a stark contrast emerges.

One show stands out as a glaring exception to this rule: The White Lotus. Despite being nominated for six awards, it failed to take home a single Golden Globe. This might seem like a minor disappointment, but considering its reputation as one of the most critically acclaimed shows of the season, the snub is particularly hard to swallow.

The White Lotus' misfortune can be partly attributed to its genre shift from limited series to ongoing concern with a fourth season in production. As such, every nomination it received was classified under drama series, an extremely competitive field that proved difficult to crack. The show's quality also suffered this year, with critics panning the scripting and arguing that the off-screen drama overshadowed the on-screen action.

Another casualty of the Golden Globes was Severance, a thought-provoking sci-fi drama that failed to impress in its second season. Despite being nominated for several awards, including best drama, actor, actress, and supporting actor, the show's over-ambitious direction left audiences underwhelmed.

However, one award that did go to the creators of Severance – Jean Smart for her role in Hacks – has been met with skepticism from some quarters. With Ayo Edebiri, Natasha Lyonne, and Jenna Ortega all vying for comedy awards, it's hard not to wonder if the Golden Globes have lost their way.

On a more egregious note, The Pitt took home two awards at this year's ceremony – best drama and actor – leaving viewers in the UK snubbed once again. As one of the most critically acclaimed shows on television, its success has been nothing short of meteoric, with several major awards under its belt. But because it's not available to watch here, we're left feeling like we've missed out.

It may seem petty, but the lack of The Pitt on UK television is a glaring omission that eclipses all other snubs in this year's Golden Globes.

I don’t usually comment but... I feel so bad for those guys who didn't win or even got snubbed at the Golden Globes 🤷‍♂️. The White Lotus and Severance are like two shows that just got overlooked, you know? And yeah, it's not just them - The Pitt is like a major casualty too, because they're not even available in the UK... it's like, how can we appreciate their work if we can't watch it? 📺. I don’t get why some people are skeptical about Jean Smart winning for Hacks, though... she’s been killing it in that role and well-deserved of her win 😎. Anyway, I think the Golden Globes need to step up their game, you know? They're supposed to be celebrating the best TV shows, but they’re just making more winners feel left out 🤦‍♂️.

Ugh, I'm so frustrated with the Golden Globes again 🤯! They're supposed to be recognizing the best in TV, but they keep snubbing some of the most amazing shows out there. Like, what even is going on with The White Lotus? Six nominations and zero wins? That's just mind-boggling. And don't even get me started on Severance - it's like the Globes just ignored its existence 🤦‍♀️. And can we talk about The Pitt?! It's one of the best shows out right now, but because it's not available in the UK, they're basically snubbing us too 🤷‍♂️. I mean, what's the point of even having a global award show if you're just going to leave out entire regions? 😒

The Golden Globes are like my aunt's gossip circle – everyone's invited, but nobody really knows what they're talking about 🤣. I mean, The White Lotus gets snubbed despite being critically acclaimed? That's like me saying I'm the best pizza maker in the world, but then my own family votes for that weird cousin who only orders anchovies 🧀.

And Severance? Over-ambitious? Sounds like someone who tries to make a salad with 10 different ingredients and ends up with a flavor bomb that's more like a flavor mess 🤯. And don't even get me started on The Pitt being snubbed in the UK. I guess that's what happens when you're a British show and we have our own version of Netflix... or not 😂.

Oh wait, it's not just about the shows – it's about the viewers too! I mean, who needs to watch Severance when you can binge-watch The White Lotus on HBO? 📺

🤦‍♂️ I mean, come on! The White Lotus and Severance get totally snubbed while shows like The Pitt just waltz away with two awards? 🎉 It's like the Golden Globes have forgotten what "television" even means. 😒 I swear, back in my day, we used to watch actual TV shows that were meant for the masses, not just some niche stuff that only a handful of people care about. And don't even get me started on The Pitt – it's like they're trying to punish us poor UK viewers or something. 🇬🇧 I know it's not fair, but still... 😔

🙄 I'm still trying to process how Severance didn't even get a single comedy award despite being so hyped up going into the ceremony... and don't even get me started on The Pitt - it was literally the only show I've been dying to watch, but nope, they left us UK folks in the dark 😔. And what's up with Jean Smart winning for Hacks when Ayo Edebiri and Jenna Ortega were giving her LIFT OFF 🤯?

OMG 🤯, can't believe The White Lotus got snubbed like that! I mean, it's one of the best shows out right now 😱, and six nominations just to not win a single? That's just cruel 😔. And Severance too... its second season was kinda meh, but still deserving of some love 🤷‍♀️. But you know what's even worse than both those snubs? The fact that UK viewers can't watch The Pitt 🇬🇧! Like, it's literally the most critically acclaimed show out there, and we're just stuck in the dark 🎃. It's like the Golden Globes are forgetting about us over there 🤯.

man... 1st off, i'm still reeling from the whole golden globes thing 🤯. the white lotus getting snubbed like that? yeah no kidding 😔. it was basically a masterclass in tv writing and acting... what did they do wrong?! 🤷‍♀️

and severance? come on guys... you got nominated for best drama but failed to deliver? 📺 it's just so frustrating when shows like that get overlooked. and don't even get me started on the UK getting left out of the pits' awards 🇬🇧. i mean, it's not fair at all... a show as good as the pitt deserves more recognition 🤩.

i know the golden globes aren't perfect and they can be kinda arbitrary sometimes ⏰, but still, there are some real snubs in this list that are making me sad 😔. maybe next year will be better? 🤞

I'm low-key salty about The White Lotus getting robbed 🤕. Like, how can a show with THAT much hype not take home at least one award? And don't even get me started on Severance... I thought that sci-fi drama was supposed to be the next big thing 🚀. But you know what's even more annoying? The Pitt being snubbed in the UK 📺. It's like, hello, it's a critically acclaimed show and you can't even watch it here?! That's not fair to the fans, fam 😒.

I just got back from the most random road trip to visit my aunt who lives on the coast, and man, it was so beautiful there 🌊🏖️. I drove for like 4 hours through these rolling hills and ended up at this quaint little cafe that served the best avocado toast ever 🤤. And you know what's crazy? They had a sign that said they were going to start serving vegan options, but it was still super hard to find something good for my sister who's a total pizza junkie 😂. Anyway, back to the Golden Globes... I mean, I get why The White Lotus didn't win, but what really gets me is how many amazing shows got snubbed this year 🤦‍♀️. Have you seen The Resort? It's like The White Lotus, but set in a hotel instead of a resort... yeah, I know, sounds weird 😴.

omg u think its weird how they snubbed the white lotus?? its like they were trying to make it harder for them to win lol what even is the point of the golden globes anymore? its all about who's available on tv here vs who's on tv there 🤷‍♂️
