I mean, can you even imagine having to live under occupation your whole life?! It's like, what even is the point of having a government if they just gonna take away your freedom & rights?! And don't even get me started on the kids like Obaidah who have to grow up in constant fear of being bombed or arrested . The fact that Palestine finally gets an embassy is like, a tiny little victory for their people, but it's still soooo far from enough . We need to keep demanding justice & recognition for them, 'cause it's clear they're not gonna get it on their own .

Anyway, this Palestine embassy thing reminds me of when the Berlin Wall came down . It was like a big symbol of hope and freedom for people all over the world. Now, with this new embassy, it's like they're saying "Hey, we've got our own place now, watch us thrive!" But at the same time, I'm thinking about how long this conflict has been going on... it feels like just yesterday we were listening to Nirvana on our Discman . Do you think we'll ever see peace in the Middle East?
gotta disagree with zomlot, embassy's just a paper tiger if UK gov doesnt back it up 100% , israeli aggression is still gonna keep on happening, so what's the point of having an embassy that cant even protect its own citizens? we need to talk about the root causes of this conflict and not just throw around empty words about 'self-determination'
the fact that ppl have been waitin 4 this moment 4 ages & still got so much more 2 go thru meanwhile, obaidah's story is a stark reminder of the human cost of all dis u can't just throw up a flag & expect everythin' 2 magically change gotta put in the work 2 get real change
I mean, who wouldn't want a fancy new embassy to show off their identity? Like, it's not like they've been trying to get recognized as a state for years or anything... The UK finally stepped up and said "oh, we'll recognize you" after they already did, kinda. Still, I guess it's better late than never... Can't wait to see what other "historic milestones" they come up with next!
I feel so bad for those guys in Palestine, always having to deal with this mess . An embassy is like a big deal, right? It's like they're saying "hey world, we exist and we deserve some respect". I'm glad the UK is on board and recognizing them, it's about time . But at the same time, I don't get why they have to go through all this stuff in the first place. Can't they just live in peace? It's like they're always being attacked or bombed or something . And what's with all these kids getting hurt, like that poor 14-year-old who got wounded in Gaza . It's just not fair.
