I'm loving the idea of a patriotic flotilla on the Schuylkill River in Philly it's like a celebration of freedom and community... people from all walks of life coming together to show their patriotism, but not just with flags and banners, with something more meaningful - the love for nature and the river itself. I'm also super stoked that they're encouraging people to take part in a healthy activity like kayaking it's amazing how exercise can bring people together and create memories that last a lifetime... and what a great way to promote America250 - all while taking care of our environment
I'm thinking it's gonna be super busy on Walnut Street Dock that day lol, over 100 kayaks? They should prep for traffic already . And omg how cool is the cannon firing part tho? It feels like they're really getting into the patriotic vibe this year. America250 is a big deal and I'm hyped to see what else Philly has planned. Maybe we'll even get some sick pics of the kayaks all lined up
Ugh, because what's more American than kayaking in circles on the Schuylkill River while eating a boxed lunch ? I mean, who needs actual scenic views when you can paddle past some historic sites and enjoy the sunshine? And hey, a cannon firing at the end is just what this patriotic event needed to take it from "quaint community gathering" to " full-on tourist trap . At least there's that free food, so I guess it's all about who can eat the most processed turkey sandwiches while pretending to be a true patriot
I'm so excited for my kid's upcoming birthday, but I was thinking wouldn't it be cool if they got to kayak on the Schuylkill River too? Not many kids get to experience history like that. And it's not just about the kayaking, it's about teaching them about their country's heritage. Plus, who doesn't love a good patriotic display? I'm hoping my little one will be inspired by all the patriotism and community spirit at the Philly Phlotilla. Maybe I'll even get to attend with them!
So I think it's awesome that people are coming together for this patriotic flotilla! It's gonna be so cool to see all those kayaks lined up on the river, and the cannon firing at Fort Mifflin is gonna be EPIC! The Schuylkill River has such a rich history, it's awesome that people are honoring that. I'm kinda curious though, what made you want to participate in this event? Is it the patriotism, the love for kayaking, or just wanting to be part of something big?
