Pistol-packing pharmacist makes living selling drugs and guns — all in one

In a small Arkansas town, a licensed pharmacist has turned his pharmacy into a hybrid business where you can pick up your prescription or buy a firearm, all under one roof. John Lykins, the owner of Lowell Pharmacy, has been operating his store since 2003 and obtained his federal firearms license in 2008.

At first, Lykins started selling surplus Glock pistols after winning them at an FBI auction. The business took off from there, and today he has a vast supply of rifles and handguns for sale. Customers come to the pharmacy not only for their prescriptions but also to purchase bullets or pick up their firearms.

Lykins is proud to be in a state where concealed carry permits are issued with no restrictions, allowing customers to openly carry guns. To buy long guns, customers must be 18 years old and provide valid ID, while handgun buyers must be at least 21 and undergo the same vetting process as rifle purchases.

In an effort to support veterans struggling with mental health issues or suicidal thoughts, Lykins is part of The Armory Project program. He offers free storage for veterans' firearms until they are deemed ready to take them back, a service that has only been used a few times so far.

Lykins' pharmacy also features a snack counter, gunsmithing services, and an area where customers can wait for their prescriptions, all while browsing his signature blue T-shirt with the slogan "I BUY MY GUNS FROM MY DRUG DEALER" available online at NWARX.com.

I mean, what's next? A vape shop that also sells bulletproof vests? This is just getting weird. I get it, John Lykins wants to support veterans and all that, but can't he just keep his pharmacy a traditional pharmacy and leave the firearms sales to someone else? It's just too much for one guy to handle. And what about liability insurance? Does he have any idea how crazy this setup is? 🤯 I also don't get why Arkansas would be so chill about concealed carry permits... doesn't that raise some red flags? Anyway, it's definitely a unique business model... 😒

This is wild 🤯! I'm low-key impressed by John Lykins' entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to cater to his community's needs. I mean, who wouldn't want a one-stop shop for prescriptions and firearms? It's like he's the pharmacy version of Tony Soprano from The Sopranos, minus the, you know, mob activities 😂. Seriously though, it's heartening to see him support veterans' mental health with his Armory Project program. It just goes to show that even in unexpected places, people can make a positive impact 🌟. And let's be real, who wouldn't want a blue T-shirt with a cheeky slogan like "I BUY MY GUNS FROM MY DRUG DEALER"? 😂 It's like he's poking fun at the whole gun store-pharmacy combo while still being all about community support 💕.

omg 🤯 i just saw this and i'm like totally confused. a pharmacy that sells guns? isn't that kinda weird? 🤔 but i guess it's good for vets who need help dealing with mental health issues or suicidal thoughts... that's actually pretty cool 🌟

i wonder if they're getting any kinda training on how to handle sensitive situations when people are buying guns... and what about the other customers who don't want to buy guns? do they feel left out or uncomfortable in a place where guns are being sold?

anyway, i think it's interesting that the pharmacist is trying to support his community in this way. he even has a t-shirt with a slogan on it! 😂 here's a quick doodle of what i imagine the inside of the pharmacy might look like:
```
+---------------------------------------+
main area
+---------------------------------------+
prescriptions guns
v v
+---------------------------------------+
snack counter gunsmithing
area services
```
i'm not sure what to think about this whole thing, but it's definitely a unique idea! 🤷‍♀️

🤯 What's next? A Starbucks with a shooting range?! I mean, I get that John Lykins wants to support veterans and all, but is this really the right way to do it? It's like he's combining two completely different things without thinking about how they're going to interact. And what about the people who don't want to be around guns? Are they just going to have to sit in a snack bar while others are waiting for their meds and browsing gun gear? 🤷‍♀️ The more I think about it, the weirder this setup gets... 😒

This is quite an interesting concept - a pharmacy that doubles as a gun store 🤔. While I appreciate John Lykins' entrepreneurial spirit, I have to wonder about the potential implications of combining two high-risk professions under one roof 😬. On the other hand, it's heartening to see him giving back to his community by offering support services for veterans in need 🙏. The integration of a snack counter and gunsmithing services is also quite unique - I suppose it's a reflection of the diverse needs of rural Arkansas residents 🤷‍♂️. One has to admire Lykins' confidence in his business model, but I'd love to see some data on how this hybrid store is performing financially 💰. Overall, it's an unusual venture that highlights the adaptability and resourcefulness of small-town America 😊

Dude, I'm not sure what's more impressive - the fact that John Lykins can sell you a prescription and a gun in the same place or his business sense is so sharp it could cut glass 💪🏽! Just imagine walking into your fave pharmacy and being like "Doc, what's up? Need to pick up my meds... and a 9mm"? Priorities, am I right? 🤣 And hey, who needs a separate gun store when you've got a pharmacy that's just chillin' with the firearms? Sounds like John's got his finger on the pulse (or should I say, on the trigger?) 😉

🤔 I gotta say, this dude John Lykins is kinda a genius? I mean, who else can make a pharmacy and a gun store work together under one roof? It's like he's created this whole ecosystem where people can come in and get their meds and guns at the same time. And it's not like he's just selling guns, he's actually helping out veterans too! 🙏 The Armory Project thing is really cool. I'm a bit curious about his "I BUY MY GUNS FROM MY DRUG DEALER" shirt though... is that like a slogan or something?

🤯 Can you believe it?! In Arkansas, you can get a prescription or buy a gun all in one place 🚨💉. The owner of Lowell Pharmacy has been selling surplus guns since 2008 and now he's got a whole section for that 🔫. It's crazy! He also does a good thing by helping vets who are struggling with mental health issues, offering free storage for their firearms 🙏.

So, let's look at some stats... In the US, there are over 120 million civilian-owned guns, and about 12% of those owners have a concealed carry permit 🔫📊. Now, in Arkansas specifically, only one in five people has a permit, but that's still a lot! 🤯

The Armory Project is doing some great work too... They've helped over 100 vets get back their guns since starting in 2018 💪. And did you know that the top 5 states with the highest number of gun-related deaths have seen an increase in gun sales and Concealed Carry Permits? 📊🚨 Arkansas is one of them! Not surprising given how lenient the laws are 🤷‍♂️.

It's interesting to see how business can be a force for good... John Lykins' pharmacy has created jobs, and his store is even featured on this online map 📍. Maybe it'll inspire more entrepreneurs to open up gun shops and support their local communities too? Who knows! 🤔

I don’t usually comment but I had to say something about this guy John Lykins and his pharmacy hybrid business 🤯. Like, who would have thought that you could get your prescription filled and buy a gun all in one place? It’s like he's offering a whole different service there. And I guess it’s kinda cool that he’s supporting veterans with his Armory Project program too 💔. But at the same time, isn’t it a bit weird that pharmacies are allowed to sell guns now? I mean, what if someone in there is just looking for ammo for a robbery or something? 🤔 Anyway, I guess it's good that people have options and can get their needs met in one place. And his business model is actually pretty genius - who wouldn’t want to walk into a pharmacy and pick up their meds while also buying some guns? It’s like the ultimate convenience store 🛍️.

This is so cool! I mean, who wouldn't want to walk into a pharmacy and be like "Hey, do you have any Glock pistols in stock?" 🤣 John Lykins' hybrid business is genius! The Armory Project program is also super admirable - it's great that he's using his business as a way to support veterans. I wish more businesses were doing stuff like this. And can we talk about the snack counter? That sounds like so much fun! NWARX.com needs to be on my browser history lol, gotta get that blue T-shirt... 10/10 would recommend this pharmacy to anyone looking for a unique shopping experience 🛍️👍

I'm totally appalled by this guy's move to sell guns in his pharmacy 🤯💉 I mean, what's next? Selling ammo to kids on summer break? Or maybe even offering firearm safety classes while you're at it? No way, this is just a recipe for disaster. I know Arkansas has lax gun laws, but that doesn't make it right. What about all the people who can't or shouldn't be carrying guns? This guy's idea of supporting veterans by giving them access to guns is straight up messed up...I mean, what if they're not ready to handle that kind of responsibility?

😕 I'm not sure about this one... I mean, it's cool that John Lykins is supporting veterans and all, but I think it's a bit weird that his pharmacy is basically a gun store too 🤔. Like, isn't there some kind of law or something about pharmacies selling guns? And what if someone just walks in looking for a prescription, but then sees the whole gun section and freaks out 😲?

And don't even get me started on the snack counter... I mean, that's a weird thing to have in a pharmacy 🍿. But at least he's got some good marketing sense, selling those blue T-shirts online 👕. And it's awesome that his store is actually helping people, but I wish there were more services like that available in other states too 🤞.

this is just wild 🤯 - i mean, who needs a gun store when you got a pharmacy? but on the other hand, it's cool that john lykins is supporting veterans and stuff, i guess it's great that he's making a difference in his community. and let's be real, it's pretty convenient for people to be able to grab their meds and buy some ammo at the same time 🤣. but at the same time, i'm like, what if there's some crazy person who walks into the pharmacy looking for a gun and can't find one? that'd be super sketchy 😳.

🤔 This is some wild stuff! I mean, who needs a gun shop and a pharmacy under one roof? 🏥💉 It's like, you're already filling your prescriptions, why not pick up a Glock while you're at it? 🤑 But for real, the fact that he's got this hybrid business going on shows how much demand is there for firearms. And I gotta give him props for using his platform to support veterans struggling with mental health issues - that's some real community spirit! 💕 The Armory Project program sounds like a great initiative... but is it making people feel safer or just easier to access guns? 🤝

this is some wild stuff 🤯 I mean, who needs a separate gun store when you can just walk into your pharmacy? it's like a whole other world under one roof. I'm all for the vetting process, though - we don't want no felons coming in here and getting their hands on some guns 🙅‍♂️. but at the same time, it's kinda cool that John Lykins is supporting veterans with mental health issues. free storage for their firearms? that's a game-changer 🤝. I'm not sure if I'd want to walk into my local pharmacy and see a sign saying "I BUY MY GUNS FROM MY DRUG DEALER" though 😂, that's just a bit too much for me.
