Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2026: Everything we're expecting from the S26 launch

Samsung is set to host its first Galaxy Unpacked event of 2026 in February, with official invites yet to be shared. The company has been hinting at the launch through various announcements at CES 2026.

In terms of design, Samsung's new flagship series is expected to stick with a similar look as the previous model, featuring a flat front screen and frame, with rounded corners and cameras housed in a vertical pill-shaped plateau on the back. However, there may be some minor changes such as a slightly larger display on the Galaxy S26.

The phones are likely to feature Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, although Samsung may use its relatively new Exynos 2600 chip in some regions. The new chips should provide significant performance improvements over the previous generation.

The Galaxy S26 will reportedly come with a 6.3-inch FHD+ display and 12GB of RAM, either 256GB or 512GB of storage, and a slightly larger 4,300mAh battery. It may also have similar camera specs to the previous model, although changes are expected in the higher-end Galaxy S26 Ultra.

On the other hand, fans of magnets might be disappointed as Samsung is unlikely to include built-in magnetic support on its new flagship series, which was first introduced on the Galaxy Z TriFold. The company has been using cases with magnetic rings for this feature in the past.

Samsung's Bixby AI assistant and other AI features are expected to play a significant role at Galaxy Unpacked 2026. The company is reportedly exploring partnerships with AI-powered search engine Perplexity, which could provide an alternative to Google Gemini.

Finally, the Galaxy Z TriFold has been updated with its price and availability in the US. The device will be available for $2,900, although it's unclear how much Samsung plans to spend on Unpacked 2026.

For now, Samsung fans can check out our preview of what we expect from the event to get up-to-speed. We'll also have live coverage of the event, as well as news, analyses and in-person impressions once they become available.

I'm super excited about the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked 2026 but I gotta say, no built-in magnetic support? That's such a bummer for all you phone collectors out there 🤕📱. I mean, who doesn't love a good magnetic ring to attach their cases and accessories? It was one of my favorite features on the Galaxy Z TriFold 🤗.

But I'm also really hyped about the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip - it's supposed to be super fast and power-efficient 💻. And the camera specs for the S26 Ultra sound amazing, especially with those rumored AI-powered improvements 📸. Can't wait to see what Samsung has in store at Galaxy Unpacked 2026! 👀

I'm so excited for the Galaxy Unpacked 2026! My kiddo is super curious about new tech and I know he's been dropping hints about what he wants for his birthday... fingers crossed it'll be a new Samsung phone 🤞📱. But, I gotta wonder, why no built-in magnetic support? That was such a cool feature on the Galaxy Z TriFold... oh well, maybe we'll see some new innovative tech that'll make up for it! 😊

I'm kinda hyped for Galaxy Unpacked 2026, but I've got a bad feeling about it too 🤔. Samsung's always pushing the boundaries with their new tech, and I love how they make these phones feel like mini-laptops 💻. But at the same time, I'm worried that they're gonna keep us waiting for ages before we get our hands on those features 🕰️.

And can we talk about the camera specs? I mean, 12GB of RAM is pretty decent, but it's not a huge leap from last year's S25. I hope they bring some new tricks to the table, like improved portrait mode or something 🔍.

On a more positive note, I'm stoked about the potential partnership with Perplexity and AI-powered search engine 🤖. It could be game-changing for Samsung's Bixby AI assistant. Fingers crossed that they'll finally get it right 💕.

🤔 I'm kinda hyped for the Galaxy Unpacked 2026 but at the same time, no magnetic support on the new flagship series is a major bummer... I mean who doesn't love a good magnetic case? 😐 Anyway, I'm expecting some nice upgrades like that new Qualcomm chip and more battery life. The Exynos 2600 chip should bring some sweet performance improvements too! 💻 Can't wait to see what Samsung has in store for us this time around. Maybe they'll finally update the camera specs on the Galaxy S26 Ultra... 📸

Another year, another Galaxy Unpacked 🤦‍♂️... I mean, who even gets excited about a new flagship series? 🙄 The design is gonna be pretty meh, just flat screens and rounded corners, because why fix what ain't broke, right? 😒 And don't get me started on the lack of magnetic support - what's next, no headphone jack? 🎧

On the bright side, the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip is supposed to bring some serious performance gains, so that's a definite win. 💥 And I'm kinda stoked about the potential partnership with Perplexity AI search engine - maybe Samsung can finally give Google a run for its money? 🤔

But let's be real, the Galaxy Z TriFold is still gonna be a pricey beast at $2,900... that's like buying a new car every year 💸. Can't wait to see what Samsung has in store for us at Galaxy Unpacked 2026 - maybe some surprises or just more of the same? 🤷‍♂️
