Savannah Guthrie gives a health update after undergoing vocal cord surgery

"Today" Host Savannah Guthrie Gives Health Update After Vocal Cord Surgery

In a recent post on Instagram, Savannah Guthrie, 54, shared an update about her health after undergoing vocal cord surgery. The journalist had been open about her struggles with a scratchy voice and nodules on her vocal cords, which she revealed were causing her to experience "very scratchy" and occasionally cracking sounds.

Guthrie assured fans that the procedure was not a big deal and that she is feeling positive about the outcome. She held up a whiteboard that read "All good! Thanks for prayers and love," showcasing that she is still unable to speak for the time being, and jokingly said "Christmas coming early for my family!"

Co-host Sheinelle Jones chimed in, sharing her own experience with similar surgery and gifting Guthrie the same whiteboard used during her recovery. Jones noted that the silver lining of Guthrie's situation was having permission to rest and allowing the household to get quieter, while also hinting at a possible future singing career.

Fans flooded the comments section with warm wishes, sharing their love for Guthrie and missing her on-air presence. One fan wrote, "So happy to hear all went well! Sending healing ❤️‍🩹 vibes," while another added, "Miss seeing you with Craig and Sheinelle. Love you 3. Heal fast and come back."

Guthrie's husband, Michael Feldman, shares two children with her: daughter Vale, 11, and son Charley, 8. The journalist had previously announced that she would be taking time away from the show to undergo the surgery in the new year.

It appears that Guthrie is taking a positive approach to her recovery, focusing on rest and healing while also looking forward to returning to the show soon. With her signature wit and humor, she seems determined to "come out singing" – perhaps even à la Celine Dion!

OMG yaaas 🤩 Savannah is such an inspiration!!! I love how down-to-earth and positive she's being about this whole thing, it's so inspiring! 💖 And can we talk about how funny is that her fam gets to have a quieter Christmas? 😂😂😂 It's like, Silver Linings kinda vibe right? 🌞 Sheinelle sharing that same whiteboard tho... what a sweetheart! ❤️‍🩹 I got chills reading all the loving comments from fans, it's clear they're missing her on-air presence. Can't wait to see Savannah back to her awesome self soon, maybe even belting out some tunes 🎤

🤔 You know what this got me thinking... we all need a break sometimes, like Savannah's been getting, but it's not always easy to slow down when life's still spinning. I mean, our vocal cords may be just one part of us, but they're also super connected to how we express ourselves and connect with others. It's weird, though - even though she can't speak right now, her words are still coming through loud and clear in that post... it's like her voice is being amplified in a way that transcends the physical act of speaking. And I love what Sheinelle said about finding silver linings - sometimes we need to step back and let life take its course before we can move forward again. 🌱

🤔 I'm so relieved to hear that Savannah is doing well after her vocal cord surgery 🙏. She's one of my fave morning TV hosts, and it's awesome that she's taking a positive approach to her recovery, focusing on rest and healing 💆‍♀️. The fact that the co-hosts are being super supportive, like Sheinelle gifting her that whiteboard 🤣, is really heartwarming ❤️.

I can imagine how frustrating it must be for Savannah to deal with a scratchy voice all the time, but I'm sure she's going to rock back into our lives soon 💪! And who knows, maybe she'll even use her newfound 'vocal rest' experience as inspiration for a future singing career 🎤👏. Here's to a speedy recovery and more of Savannah's wit and charm on the show soon! 📺

Wow 🤩 I'm so glad Savannah Guthrie is doing well after her vocal cord surgery! It's crazy how it affects your life when you have a job that involves talking all day. I feel for the people who have to take care of her and handle everything on their own. She seems like such a strong person, though! And haha, Christmas coming early indeed 😂. Can't wait to see her back on the show soon 💕

OMG 🤯 Savannah's being super chill about this whole vocal cord surgery thing 🤷‍♀️ I mean, who wouldn't want a quiet household for a bit? 😂 It's actually kinda genius how Sheinelle gifted her that whiteboard - now she can just laugh it off and still be the queen of the morning show 💁‍♀️. And btw, a future singing career? 🎤 I'd love to see that! Savannah's got talent pouring outta every pore... or should i say, every vocal note 😂

🤔 I'm not buying that this was a 'no big deal' situation for Savannah Guthrie... I mean, vocal cord surgery is serious stuff 😷. Anyone would be worried about their voice after something like that, and it's understandable she can't speak right now 🗣️. The fact that Sheinelle shared her own experience and offered to give Guthrie the same whiteboard makes me wonder if this was a carefully planned PR move 💼. Plus, who says she'll be 'coming out singing' anytime soon? 🎤 Maybe we should wait until after her official doctor's clearance... 👀
