Sequel to The Time Traveler's Wife to be published this autumn

Penguin to Publish Sequel to Beloved Time Traveler's Wife, Set to Arrive This Autumn

A highly anticipated sequel to Audrey Niffenegger's 2003 hit novel The Time Traveler's Wife is set to be published by Penguin in the UK later this year. Life Out of Order follows in the footsteps of its predecessor, delving into the life of Alba DeTamble, the daughter of Henry and Clare, who are at the center of the original story.

For 13 years, Niffenegger worked on the sequel, which is set to hit shelves on October 27. The book takes place in the same world as its predecessor but offers a fresh perspective on the themes of love, family, and identity that defined the original novel.

At the heart of Life Out of Order is Alba's journey through time, as she navigates her own "Chrono-Displacement Disorder" – a condition eerily similar to that of her father. Along the way, she must confront secrets, both personal and historical, that threaten to upend her relationships with those closest to her.

The sequel also explores themes of art, politics, and the power of creation in the face of uncertainty. As Niffenegger notes, "even if you knew the world was imploding tomorrow, you should still get out there and make things and do things." This message is reflected in Alba's journey, which takes her from the streets of Chicago to a virtual sanctuary known as the Museum of Lost Souls.

According to publisher Hannah Westland, Life Out of Order is "uncannily of this moment" – a profoundly moving celebration of love that feels eerily prescient in today's world. The book promises to be just as captivating as its predecessor, offering readers a glimpse into a world both familiar and yet utterly unique.

Life Out of Order will also coincide with the publication of new paperback and hardback editions of The Time Traveler's Wife, courtesy of Vintage, Penguin's imprint overseeing Jonathan Cape. Fans of Niffenegger's work can look forward to revisiting the world she created in 2003 – or experiencing it for the first time this autumn.

I don't know how excited I am about a penguin publishing a sequel to The Time Traveler's Wife 🤔. I mean, I love Audrey Niffenegger's work and all, but isn't she like, an oldie but a goodie now? 13 years of working on the sequel is a pretty long time, you know? What if it doesn't live up to expectations? And what's with this new book being "uncannily of this moment"? Is that just code for "it's gonna be all about social media and technology ruining our lives"? I don't buy it. It sounds like more of the same themes of love, family, and identity, but with some fancy sci-fi twist 🚀. Can we just stick to good old-fashioned storytelling for once? 😒

omg, i'm so stoked about this new book 🤩! life out of order sounds like such a fascinating read - who wouldn't want to dive back into that beautiful world created by audrey niffenegger? and the fact that it's all about alba's journey through time is just captivating me - i love how she has her own chrono-displacement disorder, kinda like her dad's... it's like, what if you were born with this power to move through time?! anyway, i'm definitely adding this to my to-read list ASAP 📚🕰️

omg u guys i'm literally so done with being a kid now that penguins are publishing novels lol like who would've thought right? anyway back to alba's journey through time and all that... its gonna be weird but also super emotional reading about her struggles with chrono-displacement disorder... its like niffenegger is tapping into our collective anxiety or something, you feel? and can we just talk about how much i love the idea of a virtual sanctuary called the museum of lost souls... its like a beautiful metaphor for finding solace in art and creativity during uncertain times 🌿💫

🤯 I'm so hyped for this sequel! I mean, Alba DeTamble's journey through time sounds like a wild ride 🚀. I love how the book is exploring themes of identity and creativity in the face of uncertainty - it's like Niffenegger is speaking straight to my soul 🌟. And can we talk about how eerie it is that this book feels "uncannily of this moment" 🕰️? It's like the author is tapping into some sort of collective consciousness or something 🤔. I'm also super excited for fans of The Time Traveler's Wife to get to revisit the world they love, but also experience it in a new way. Life Out of Order better live up to its predecessor's hype, am I right? 😅

🤔 OMG, I'm so excited about the new Time Traveler's Wife book! 😍 I loved the first one and now Alba's story is coming out... it sounds like her journey through time is gonna be super emotional 🕰️❤️. The author worked on this for 13 years?! 💥 that's dedication, right? I'm curious about this "Chrono-Displacement Disorder" thing too... does she have time-traveling powers or something? 🤷‍♀️ Anyway, the fact that it's all about love and identity makes me want to dive in ASAP 😘. Can't wait for October 27th! 📚🕰️

OMG u guys! 😍 I've got de tea on dis new book release! Life Out of Order is literally going to be EVERYTHING we loved about The Time Traveler's Wife, but with Alba DeTamble as the main girl 🤩. Niffenegger's been working on it for 13 years and it's finally coming out in Oct 📚. From what I've heard, it's all about her navigating time & dealing w/ secrets that'll shake things up big time 💥. The whole "Chrono-Displacement Disorder" thing is giving me major Hermione vibes 🧙‍♀️. Can't wait to dive in & see how Alba's journey unfolds! It sounds like the perfect book for these uncertain times ❤️. Get ready for a wild ride, fam!

Ugh, great just what we need another sequel to a classic novel 🙄. I mean, I get it, people love Audrey Niffenegger's writing style and all, but can't they leave some things alone? Like, seriously, 13 years of working on this one book? What if she got writer's block or something? It's not like she's going to magically recapture the same magic that made the first book so special... probably not. And now people are just going to fawn all over her again, no doubt expecting it to be just as good as the original (like that's ever happened). Mark my words, this one's gonna get mediocre reviews at best 🤦‍♀️

Ugh, I don't know why people are so excited about another sequel 🤦‍♀️. I mean, I loved The Time Traveler's Wife, but can we just let the original story breathe? A new book is always going to try to live up to its predecessor and it never works out well in my opinion 😒.

And what's with the condition Alba has? Chrono-Displacement Disorder? It sounds like something a time traveler would come up with, but still... I guess it's kinda cool that Niffenegger is exploring themes of art, politics, and creation. That sounds deep 💭.

I'm not sure about this whole "it's eerily prescient in today's world" thing though 🤔. I mean, if a book is going to make you feel like the world is imploding tomorrow, shouldn't it at least be written by someone who's actually predicting the apocalypse? 😂 Just kidding, sort of.

Anyway, I guess fans of Niffenegger will get their fix this autumn. Maybe they'll even discover new favorite characters in Alba and Henry Jr... or maybe not 🤷‍♀️.

ugh I'm so excited 😂📚 but also kinda worried 🤯... Audrey Niffenegger took 13 years to write this? that's like, forever 💫 I need my fix of Henry and Clare ASAP! 🙌 but seriously though, the premise of Alba's journey sounds really interesting 🤔💭 and exploring themes of art, politics, and creativity is something I can totally get behind 🎨💖. Can't wait to dive into Life Out of Order in October 📅👍

Ugh, a penguin publishing a sequel? Like, what's next? 🦉📚 I mean, I'm sure Audrey Niffenegger is super talented and all, but come on, Penguin? Can't you just stick to publishing actual books written by humans instead of...I don't know, penguins or something? 😂 Anyway, I guess this does sound kinda cool, especially since it's supposed to be about time travel and stuff. But, let's be real, Alba DeTamble is basically the daughter of Henry and Clare from the first book, so what's new? 🤔

OMG 🤯 I'm so stoked that Life Out of Order is finally coming out! The fact that Alba's Chrono-Displacement Disorder is kinda similar to her dad's is SO cool 😎. And I love how the sequel explores themes like art, politics, and creativity – it sounds like a total game-changer for me 📚💡. I'm also super excited to see new editions of The Time Traveler's Wife coming out – it's gonna be a great fall read season 🍁📖!

man I'm so excited for Life Out of Order! Audrey Niffenegger is like a genius when it comes to storytelling 🤯, and Alba's journey through time sounds super fascinating 🕰️. The fact that it explores themes of love, family, identity, and art all at once is just perfect 🎨. And the way the author says we should still make things even if everything else falls apart is like, totally inspiring 💪. I'm already dreading how bittersweet this must be for fans of The Time Traveler's Wife... but at the same time, it sounds like Niffenegger has created something truly special ✨. Bring on October 27! 🎉

Ugh, I'm getting all nostalgic just thinking about it... The Time Traveler's Wife was such a classic novel 📚💔. But now they're releasing a sequel after 13 years? That's like re-releasing an old VHS tape (remember those?) and expecting everyone to be stoked 📺😂. I mean, I'm sure it'll be fine, but can't they just leave the original alone? I guess that's not how it works in publishing land though... And now we have Life Out of Order, which sounds like more of the same, but with Alba DeTamble as the main character 🤔. The themes of love and family are always great, but I'm hoping they don't just rehash everything from the first book. Fingers crossed it's a good one! 🤞

I remember reading The Time Traveler's Wife back in '02, it was like nothing I'd ever read before... the way Audrey Niffenegger wove these two timelines together was genius 🤯. Now, a sequel 13 years later? That's just crazy talk! But I gotta say, Alba DeTamble sounds like quite the character, all this Chrono-Displacement Disorder business is making me curious 😂. Art, politics, and creation... it all sounds soooo familiar, like we're reading about these themes in our own lives 🌈. Can't wait to dive into Life Out of Order this autumn, might just be my next fave read 📚🎉

I'm so stoked for fans of Audrey Niffenegger's The Time Traveler's Wife 🤩! I've heard great things about the original, and now a new sequel is on its way! Life Out of Order sounds like it's going to be just as emotional and thought-provoking as the first book. I love how Alba's journey through time explores themes of identity, love, and family - it's something we can all relate to. And with the release coinciding with new editions of the original, it's a great excuse to revisit an old favorite or introduce someone new to the world Niffenegger created. Bring on autumn and get ready to dive back into this amazing story! 💕

omg i'm so stoked about this new sequel 🤩 life out of order sounds like an amazing read, especially with that chrono-displacement disorder thingy... it's like my grandma used to say "time is relative" lol anyway, i think niffenegger's work is still super underrated, her writing is just so beautiful and emotional 😊 the fact that it's coming out this autumn feels like a perfect excuse to cozy up with a good book and some hot tea ❤️ i've heard mixed reviews about the original time traveler's wife but i'm curious to read life out of order and see how niffenegger explores her own unique voice 📚

omg i'm SOOOO hyped for Life Out of Order!! 🤩 i've been waiting for like forever for Audrey Niffenegger to finish writing the sequel and now that it's finally coming out this october 🍂📚 i'm literally counting down the days until i can get my hands on it! alba's story is gonna be so captivating 🤯 i love how the author is exploring themes of art, politics, and creativity in the face of uncertainty 💡 it feels like niffenegger is speaking straight to my soul rn 😍 i've already pre-ordered my copy and im ready to dive back into the world of clare & henry 👪🕰️ can't wait for this!

I'm not sure if I'm excited about another Time Traveler's Wife book coming out... I mean, I loved the original but it's been a while and I don't want it to get lost in the hype 😐. But at the same time, I trust Audrey Niffenegger's writing and I love that she's exploring themes of love, family, and identity - they're so relevant right now 🤔. I'm also curious about Alba's journey through time and her struggles with Chrono-Displacement Disorder... it sounds like a really powerful story 📚. Maybe this one will be even better than the first? 🤞

😒 Can't believe they're releasing a new sequel so long after the original came out... like, what's the point? I mean, Audrey Niffenegger spent 13 years working on this thing and now it's just going to get lost in the noise. And another thing, a "Chrono-Displacement Disorder" sounds way too convenient for a plot device 🙄. It's not like Alba's journey is going to be as compelling as Henry and Clare's... I'm definitely not getting my hopes up 💔. And don't even get me started on the title - Life Out of Order? More like "I'll Write Another Book Eventually" 😒
