SF Giants agree with three-time batting champ Luis Arraez on one-year deal: report

San Francisco Giants Sign Luis Arraez to One-Year Deal Amid offseason roster shake-ups, the San Francisco Giants have added a significant boost to their lineup with the signing of three-time batting champion Luis Arraez on a one-year deal worth $12 million. According to multiple reports, the Giants have secured Arraez's services following a series of high-profile signings that included outfielder Harrison Bader.

The 28-year-old Arraez is no stranger to success, boasting an impressive .317 career batting average and two 200-hit seasons. His ability to make contact is unmatched among active players, with a staggering 93.8 percent contact rate in the majors over the past few years. This elite skillset has earned him the nickname of one of baseball's best pure hitters.

However, Arraez's recent performance has been somewhat underwhelming. In 2025, he posted a career-low .292 batting average and a .719 OPS, which would place him at a league-average hitter with an OPS+ of 99. His underlying metrics also suggest that he may be due for a bounce-back season.

The addition of Arraez has significant implications for the Giants' infield depth. With the signing of outfielder Jung Hoo Lee and Bader, the team now boasts one of baseball's better offensive infields, featuring Arraez, Rafael Deves, Matt Chapman, and Willy Adames. The lineup also appears well-rounded, with power-hitting bats complemented by Arraez and Lee's contact-first approach.

While some may question the value of adding Arraez, given his recent performance, it is worth noting that he brings a unique set of strengths to the table. His defense has been somewhat inconsistent, but his ability to make contact makes him an invaluable asset in the lineup.

Ultimately, the Giants are taking a calculated risk on Arraez, betting that he can bounce back from a disappointing 2025 season and prove himself as one of baseball's top hitters once again.

I gotta say, I'm kinda surprised they signed Luis Arraez to just a one-year deal... 🤔 I mean, his numbers have been slipping lately, but at the same time, he's still a great hitter in general and all that jazz. 12 million is pretty steep for a guy who had a decent but not spectacular season last year. But hey, you gotta give the Giants credit for being proactive and making some moves to shake up their roster... they're basically saying "we believe in Arraez" even though he didn't exactly light it up in 2025. I guess that's what makes him such a great hitter - he can still bring it when it counts, right? 🎟️

aww man, i feel u 🤗... arraez has had an off year but lets be real, the guy's still a beast at the plate 😎! his contact rate is insane and with the giants' lineup looking so stacked, he's got a solid chance to bounce back 🔥. plus, def not worth it just for one year, but if they can get him locked in, it'll be totally worth it 💯. just gotta have faith in arraez to turn it around 🤞

Ugh I'm so tired of these team updates 🤯... like do we really need to know every single move they're making? Can't we just focus on the actual games for once? And why is it that all the news articles are written in this super dry, corporate style? It's like they're trying to put me to sleep 😴. I mean, sure Arraez seems like a solid signing and all, but can't we get some real analysis or insights from someone who actually watches baseball games? Not just regurgitated stats and numbers that don't even make sense when you try to apply them to the game 📊💡.

Arraez is like that friend who always shows up to the party but now only brings a plate of cold nachos 😴. I mean, the guy's still got skills, but he hasn't exactly been lighting it up on the field lately. And yet, the Giants are putting their faith in him, hoping he'll magically return to form. It's like they're trying to win the bet with the person who thinks he's washed up 🤑. Only time will tell if it pays off or if this was just a mid-season panic buy 😂

omg u guys I just found out I met Luis Arraez at a charity event last year 🤩 he was so down to earth I asked him about his batting tips and he gave me some sweet advice lol anyway I'm super hyped for the Giants this season think they got a great addition 💪 but also kinda curious if Arraez is gonna bounce back from that rough 2025 season 🤔 still love him though, he's such an underrated hitter 🙌
