OMG you guys I just read about this crazy shipwreck that washed up on the Jersey Shore like a real-life treasure trove! The Lawrence N. McKenzie was this schooner from 1883 that sank off the coast in 1890 and nobody knew it existed until now

can you even believe it? It's like something out of a movie!
So apparently, the ship was carrying oranges from Puerto Rico when it ran aground in a thick fog and all hands were rescued but the ship itself just kind of... disappeared. Like, into the sea depths or something. And it stayed there for over 130 years!
The best part is that the park officials are being super careful about preserving these historical artifacts because they're super fragile and sensitive to touch. I mean, can you imagine touching a piece of history from the 1800s?! It's like holding a time capsule or something.
I think it's so cool that we get to learn more about this ship's history and what its life was like back in the day. It's like getting a glimpse into another world that's completely different from our own. And it just goes to show how powerful nature can be, right? Like, it can cover up secrets for centuries and then reveal them again when we least expect it.
Anyway, I'm just so stoked about this find and I hope we get to learn more about the Lawrence N. McKenzie in the future!
