Philadelphia 76ers Look to bolster Roster with Patrick Baldwin Jr.

The Philadelphia 76ers are making a mid-season push for stability by signing versatile wingman Patrick Baldwin Jr. to a 10-day contract, according to sources close to the team.

At just 23 years old, Baldwin brings significant experience to the table, having logged 95 games in his young career with the Golden State Warriors, Washington Wizards, and Los Angeles Clippers. The first-round pick from the 2022 NBA draft was previously on a 10-day deal with the Clippers, and is now en route to play against the Lakers.

The move serves as a temporary fix for the 76ers, who are seeking to maximize their starting power forward Dominick Barlow's remaining two-way contract availability. As they aim to convert Barlow into a standard player, this 10-day stint will provide much-needed depth to their roster ahead of Thursday night's matchup against Los Angeles.

In addition to Baldwin, the Sixers have also signed big man Charles Bassey to another 10-day deal, further bolstering their efforts to fill out the roster. By carefully managing two-way availability and converting players like Barlow, the team is working towards a more stable lineup that can compete in the increasingly competitive Eastern Conference landscape.

I gotta say, I think this move by the Sixers is actually pretty smart. They need some depth at power forward and Baldwin's experience is gonna be huge for them. He's not gonna change their game plan but he'll give 'em a reliable option off the bench. And signing Bassey too is great, those two will definitely help stabilize their roster. It's all about getting to that point where they can start playing more consistent games without having to worry about who's going to be available next. They're trying to build towards a playoff push and this move shows they're serious about it 😊

🤔 I don't know how much more of this back-and-forth we need 🚀. Every time they think they're getting someone solid, they gotta shake things up again 🔄. And what's with all these 10-day deals? It's like they can't make a decision for two seconds without changing their minds 💡. Dominick Barlow's got talent, I'll give him that 👍, but come on, can't we just stick with one guy for once? 🙄

I'm not sure I buy this 10-day contract thing 🤔. They're just patching things up with some young guy from the draft who's only played 95 games? It sounds like they don't have a long-term plan or anything 💸. And what's with all these short-term deals? Can't they make a real move and sign someone for a whole season? 🤷‍♂️

📊 just looked at some stats on Patrick Baldwin Jr's career... 95 games in 3 years is crazy! 🤯 average 6.5 points and 2.8 assists per game isn't bad for a young guy 🤑 the 76ers are trying to upgrade their roster, I think this move might give them the boost they need to take on the Lakers 💪 and with Charles Bassey also signing a 10-day deal, it's looking like the Sixers are making some smart moves to bolster their depth 🔄 did you know the Clippers had him first? 😮

🤯 I'm loving this move by the 76ers! Needing some depth on their roster, they're making smart decisions by signing Baldwin Jr. and Bassey to 10-day contracts. It's all about stability now, especially with Barlow's contract situation 🤔. Can't say I blame them for trying to make the most of it, but would've been cool to see some long-term moves instead 😐. Still excited to see how these new additions shake things up! 👀
