The BBC's proposal to switch off Freeview is a threat to its universal service | Letter

I'm low-key freaking out about this BBC move 🤯. It's like they're trying to leave these folks in the dark ages 😒. £500 a year? That's like, a small fortune for some families. And what's next? Are we gonna have to pay for breathing air or something? 💸 It's just not right.

And you know who's gonna get hit hardest? The elderly and low-income households 🤝. They're already struggling to make ends meet, let alone afford some fancy-schmancy broadband. This is like taking food out of their mouths instead of giving 'em a hand up 🍔.

The BBC should be trying to find ways to help these people, not abandoning them to the wolves 🦊. I mean, what's wrong with just keeping Freeview around for a bit longer? It's not like it's breaking anyone's bank 💸. This policy is all about lining their own pockets and screwing over those who need it most 😠.

man, this is like BBC trying to kick people off freeview and make them pay for tv 📺👀 its not right they should try to find an alternative that doesn't hurt the low income ppl who cant afford fancy broadband, maybe let freeview stay on till 2040 or somethin' 😊

🤔 I'm really worried about this BBC plan. It seems like they're just going to leave some people behind if they stop Freeview. Like, what if you don't have a super fast internet connection? 📊 That's a problem for a lot of people, especially the elderly or those on low income. And £500 is a LOT of money! 💸 It just doesn't seem fair that we'd all have to pay that much just to watch our favourite TV shows. Can't they think of another way to make it work? 🤷‍♂️
