I watched it with my fam and I gotta say, Sue's got some funny stories , but I felt like she was just skimming the surface of getting real about herself . The part about the pituitary tumour though... that was a whole different story , you know? It felt like she was being honest for the first time ever , and it was kinda beautiful to see her let her guard down. I hope she keeps working on that next show, 'cause I think we're all ready for some real talks
I mean, you'd think Sue Perkins would have been able to dig up some real dirt on herself for this set, right? But instead, we get this...this watered-down stuff. It's like she's trying to be funny but really just can't bring herself to look that bad. Like, who does that? I want to see her make fun of herself, you know? But at the same time, it's kinda nice that there's some real vulnerability in there somewhere. It feels...humanizing, ya know?
stats show 75% of ppl didn't find 'The Eternal Shame' as impactful as they thought it'd be ... meanwhile, sue perkins still got a 7/10 on her comedy skills from critics ... and honestly, can we talk about how much i love the fact that she's been dealing with pituitary tumors for over a decade? stats show 1 in 5 people don't even know what a pituitary tumor is ... but hey, at least she's using her platform to bring awareness ... btw, here's a chart comparing 'The Eternal Shame' to other comedy specials on netflix
