Space Race 2.0? I'm low-key worried about the whole lunar thing... think it's a setup to distract us from Earth's problems. Those space companies are just looking for ways to exploit resources, not really care about "sustainability". Mark my words, we're gonna see some shady deals go down and our planet's gonna end up paying the price They say we gotta be the first to harness water ice and solar energy... but what if it's all just a ploy to create new markets for corporations? And what about the UN treaty? Are they just pretending to care while playing both sides? I'm not buying it...
I'm getting a chill down my spine thinking about all these space companies going to Mars and beyond . It's like, we're just copying the same mistakes from back on Earth . We need to focus on saving our own planet before we even think about colonizing another one . Elon Musk's SpaceX plans to make humanity a multi-planetary species are cute and all, but what about the carbon footprint of those spaceships? And don't even get me started on the water ice deposits β it sounds like a recipe for disaster . We need some serious sustainability checks before we start exploiting other celestial bodies.
Space exploration is getting out of hand ! It's like they're trying to escape Earth's problems instead of solving them . We gotta think about the future, not just about who gets to the moon first . The environmental impact of all this space travel and infrastructure is huge . And what's with all these billionaires thinking they can just monetize space ? It's like we're already overextending ourselves on Earth before we even get a chance to thrive in space . We need to take it slow, learn from our mistakes, and make sure we're not repeating the same problems we have on Earth . Otherwise, we'll be the ones who blow up the universe !
I think its crazy how ppl think harnessin water ice & solar arrays on the moon is a good thing... like what's gonna stop corporations from exploitin this resources too? And dont even get me started on Elon Musk & Jeff Bezos, they're just tryna make bank off our future. We need to remember that its not about "resource utilisation" or "peaceful exploration", its about who gets to control the lunar frontier. I fear we're gonna repeat the mistakes of old and end up hurtin our own planet in the process... can't we just take a step back & think about whats best for Earth 1st?
im so hyped about space exploration but can we pls make sure to prioritize sustainability too?! i mean, just cuz we wanna harness water ice and solar energy doesn't mean we should expand our ecological footprint we need to learn from history and be careful not to repeat the same mistakes on earth first before setting foot on another planet
The more I think about it, the more I'm like "wait a minute" . We're talking about going back to the moon and setting up shop there, but have we actually thought through the impact this is gonna have on Earth? Like, what's the point of having all that water ice if we just end up shipping it back out or using it to exploit some other planet? It feels like we're trying to solve one problem by creating another. And don't even get me started on the carbon footprint of all this space exploration and infrastructure . I'm not saying it's a bad idea, per se, but let's make sure we're doing this in a way that actually benefits humanity as a whole, rather than just lining someone's pockets . We need to think about the bigger picture here...
