Ugh, this is so worrying!
I mean, who knew the Philly area was in danger of running out of blood? 40% decline in donations over the past year is crazy, and it's not just Philly - nationwide we're seeing a drop off. It's like people are getting complacent and forgetting that there's someone else relying on them to donate. Newsflash: donating blood isn't just a good deed, it's literally lifesaving.
And with the flu season being so bad this year, I can only imagine how hard it must be for hospitals to deal with all the trauma cases. We need more people stepping up to help out - like, take 10 minutes to find your nearest blood drive and donate? It's not that hard!
