I'm getting that feeling of déjà vu thinking about all these big retailers struggling . Remember when everyone was talking about how Primark was gonna be the next big thing? It seems like just yesterday they were expanding left and right, and now it's like... well, not so much . You'd think with all their cash and expertise, they could figure out a way to make it work on the continent, but I guess you can't force growth . And now this whole thing is putting pressure on AB Foods' plans for separation? That's just more drama in an already crazy retail world . Guess we'll just have to wait and see if they can turn things around .
omg this is crazy! primark is like my fave store but now their europe sales are dropping like crazy? i mean i get that they're trying new things like click-and-collect and major finds, but it's just not translating to eu market or something. what's going on with the infrastructure and penetration levels in those countries tho? seems like ab foods is really struggling here and delaying demergers might be a good move...but can they still make it work in europe tho?!
omg I'm like totally feeling Primark right now their sales are plummeting in Europe and I just know my friends who shop there are gonna start looking elsewhere... like, what's up with that? I think it's because they're trying to copy the UK strategy but honestly it's not working we've seen this happen before with other brands too. AB Foods should just be like "let's focus on getting our act together in Europe first" instead of rushing into new things
just had to take a break from scrollin' ... primark's european woes got me thinkin', they really need to revamp their marketing strategy out here ... all this "major finds" stuff sounds cool, but if they can't get sales goin' in europe, what's the point? also, how's the click-and-collect thing gonna work w/ no proper infrastructure in place? it's like tryin' to ride a bike without learnin' first... ab foods needs to focus on fixin' these issues before they get stuck in neutral
I feel like I've seen this before... remember when M&S was struggling back in 2014? They had some major restructuring too, but managed to come out stronger on the other side. Anyway, Primark's sales are down by almost 6% - that's a big drop! And it's not just them, other retailers like H&M and Zara are also having trouble in Europe. It's like they're all trying to figure this whole online shopping thing out at the same time... I'm worried about Primark though, they've got some great deals and I love their stuff! But maybe they need to take a step back, reevaluate their strategy, and focus on what worked for them in the first place. And you know what? Maybe this is just a minor setback... like that time when Amazon's sales dropped in 2011 due to tax issues
so primark is having a rough time in europe huh? i mean, 5.7% sales drop in continental europe is no joke they were doing okay before but now it's like they're struggling to keep up with uk sales what do u think is the main issue here? is it just consumer sentiment or are there other factors at play
and i'm curious about ab foods' strategy changes... improved marketing and click-and-collect services were supposed to be the answer but are they really working across the board
also, what does this mean for the company's corporate structure? should they delay demergers or try to make it work? i'd love to hear more about how analysts are thinking about this
