The quiet revolution that made your home, car, and wallet a lot safer

It's pretty wild to think about how much property crime has declined over the past few decades 🤯. I mean, 80% less burglaries nationwide is crazy! But at the same time, I'm a bit skeptical about some of these claims. Like, have we really seen that big of a drop in violent crime too? And what's up with all these new forms of online scams and identity theft? It feels like just as soon as we figure out one way to stay safe, another threat pops up 🤦‍♂️.

And yeah, I guess security measures have definitely made homes harder to break into. But I'm not convinced that's the sole reason for this decline. Maybe there are other factors at play too? Like changes in policing or community engagement? We can't just write off the success of property crime reductions to technology and locks alone 🤔.

Still, I guess it's hard to deny the progress we've made. And who knows, maybe these new forms of online crime will be easier to track down and prevent once we get a better handle on them 💻? Only time (and some careful analysis 😬) will tell if this is just the beginning of a real trend 📈
