I'm telling you 1927 was like, totally ahead of its time you know? I mean, we're still dealing with these themes today . Like, have you seen how much tech is involved in our lives now? It's insane! And yet, Fritz Lang was basically saying the same thing all those years ago - that technology isn't gonna solve all our problems, it's just gonna make some new ones. I love how he depicted the "head" of the machine, like a symbol of corporate greed and control . And let's be real, we've seen that play out so many times since then... it's like, eerily prophetic, you know? The film's cinematography is still giving me LIFE, by the way . Lang was a total genius, man

I think this movie is so trippy it's like 100 years old but still super relevant today. The way they showed how tech can be used to control people is pretty eerie, you know? Like, we've come a long way since then but some things never change . I also love how the film highlights the importance of art and creativity in a world that's increasingly automated. It's like, what happens when machines start making our art for us? Is it still "art" if it's just a machine doing the work?

omg i just rewatched metropolis for like the 10th time and i'm still blown away by how accurate it was to today's society i mean, who would've thought that in 1927 lang would be warning us about the dangers of unchecked tech advancement? like seriously, have we learned nothing from history? but for real though, the cinematography is insane and the costumes are so iconic i love how lang used art to critique the class struggle and the exploitation of the working class it's like he knew exactly what was coming down the pipe. and can we talk about Fritz Lang's direction? he was like a genius ahead of his time. anyway, if you haven't seen metropolis yet, do yourself a favor and watch it ASAP
