'There's a dark side to floristry': are pesticides making workers seriously ill – or worse?

I'm kinda with Madeline King on this one... but only kinda 🤔💐 I mean, flowers are beautiful and all, but we gotta be real about the risks. The supply chain thing is wild, I get it. But shouldn't we be doing more to educate ourselves and others about pesticide exposure? Like, I've seen some florists using organic options and it's made a huge difference for them... 🌱💚 But then again, not all flowers are created equal, and some countries might be more lax on regulations than others. It's like, we can't just blame the industry as a whole... 🤷‍♀️🌈
 
🌼💡 just thinking about all these florists struggling with health issues due to pesticides is giving me chills. it's crazy how many are exposed to these chemicals without even knowing it's happening. they're basically being sold a poison with every bouquet 🤢. i'm all for supporting local, organic flowers and businesses that prioritize worker safety. it's time for the industry to come clean about their chemical usage and take responsibility for protecting their employees' health. 💖
 
You know, I've been saying it for years... The flower industry is like, super sketchy 🌼💔. First of all, what's up with all these pesticides being used on flowers? It's like, they're basically poisoning the very people who are supposed to be making them look beautiful 😱. And don't even get me started on how hard it is for workers to know what's really going on - it's like, totally opaque, you know? 🤯

And have you seen those studies that show florists have way higher levels of pesticide residues in their urine than people in other industries? Like, what are the chances, right? 🤑 It's not just a coincidence, I'm telling you... there's something fishy going on here.

I mean, think about it - we're always told that flowers are good for us or whatever, but really they might be slowly poisoning us 💀. And what about all those people who have died from cancer or neurodevelopmental disorders? Coincidence? I don't think so... 😒
 
I cant even imagine what its like for those florists working with all them chemicals day in and day out 🤯. Its so sad that they can't get info from their suppliers or anything because the whole thing is kinda hidden 🌿. I feel bad for those poor workers who are getting sick and dying from it... its just not right 😔. I guess thats why some florists are taking matters into their own hands, which is pretty cool 💪. But seriously, we need more research and awareness about pesticide exposure in the flower industry 📚.
