Trump administration imposes a 25 percent tariff on high-end chips

lol just imagine trying to get those high-end chips into China without getting hit with this 25% tariff lol. it's like, what's next? 🤣 anyway, i think it's pretty cool that the admin is trying to boost domestic manufacturing, but we all know how that's gonna play out. like, what about when the chips aren't even made in the us anymore? will they just magically appear or what? 🤔 also, 25% tariff on just "certain advanced computing chips"? sounds like a pretty vague definition to me... are those, like, regular gaming chips now subject to this too? 🤑

omg i cant even believe what im about to say lol so like my brother works at nvidia and he just told me that theyre gonna have to pay so much more for those chips now 🤯 his sister is actually on the dev team for their GPU line and shes literally freaking out rn apparently its not just nvidia thats affected either - AMD is also getting hit hard 💸 idk what the admin thinks but i dont think this is going to be as effective as they hope it will be 🙄

Ugh, great, just what we need... another protectionist stunt from the US government 🤦‍♂️. Like it's going to magically make American chip makers all of a sudden super competitive with these top-notch foreign companies? Please 😂. And only some types of chips are exempt from this "protection" - sounds like just a bunch of corporate handouts to me 👀. What's the real point here? To crush those smaller, innovative firms that can't compete with big corps? 🤝 I'm guessing we'll see a whole lot more shell games and loopholes exploited by these companies before this tariff even starts biting 😒. Mark my words...
