Trump housing policy is a mess and it won't fix the US housing crisis

I'm so worried about this housing crisis in the States . I mean, I get where Trump is coming from - who doesn't want to own a home? But, come on, you can't just relax zoning rules and expect everything to magically fix itself. The issue is way more complex than that. It's all about income inequality and stuff. Like, if people are making minimum wage or less, they're not gonna be able to afford homes no matter how many are built. And don't even get me started on gentrification... it's like, what's the point of having affordable housing if you're just gonna push out all the low-income folks? We need more than just a quick fix, we need real solutions that address the root causes of this problem. It's not rocket science, but apparently, Trump thinks it is .

I'm really worried about this housing crisis in the US . If we're not careful, the prices will just keep going up and people who can't afford them will be left out in the cold . I mean, don't get me wrong, it's great that Trump wants to help people buy homes, but isn't he forgetting that some people can't even afford a mortgage right now? What's going on is that the rich are getting richer and the poor are struggling to make ends meet . We need to find a way to address income inequality if we want to fix this housing crisis .

I also think it's crazy that experts say relaxing zoning rules might not even be enough to solve the problem . I mean, we need to build more affordable homes, but we can't just let builders do whatever they want without any checks and balances in place . And what about gentrification? That's a whole other can of worms .

I guess my takeaway is that this is a complex issue that needs a lot of different solutions . We can't just rely on one magic bullet to fix it, we need a multi-pronged approach that addresses the root causes of rising housing costs . And yeah, Trump's policy might seem nice on paper, but if it doesn't include some real substance behind it, I'm not sure it'll amount to much .

Oh, and can someone explain to me how building more homes is supposed to magically make them affordable? Is there some secret formula that we're missing here?

OMG I think ppl r overreactin' Trumps gonna make america great again... or at least the real estate market . He's just tryna boost homeownership rates and stimulate the economy. It's not that complicated . The thing is, ppl need to understand that housing prices go up cuz of demand & supply, not just cuz of regulations . If we just relax zoning rules & let builders build more homes, it'll eventually calm down the prices .

I mean, think about it... a 1.5% increase in supply per year might not sound like much, but it's still an improvement . And who says rent control policies r so bad? It's just tryna help ppl afford homes & keep 'em from gettin' priced outta their neighborhoods .

We need to think outside the box here... maybe there's a better way 2 solve this problem than just buildin' more housing stock. Like, what about incentivizin' builders 2 build affordable units? Or offerin' subsidies 2 low-income families 2 afford homes? That sounds like a win-win 2 me

come on trump wants us to buy homes not get priced out by super wealthy investors his approach is so backwards he thinks relaxin' regulations is gonna magically make housing affordable for everyone we need a lot more than that! increasing the supply of affordable homes is key, and it's crazy that he's only talkin' about 1.5% increase per year lol that's slower than my grandma can walk we need action now not some pie-in-the-sky solution that's gonna take decades to kick in
