TV tonight: the Targaryens arrive in Game of Thrones prequel

Targaryens Bring Fire and Blood to 'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms'

Tonight's lineup is filled with drama, intrigue, and excitement as three compelling shows go head-to-head on Sky Atlantic, BBC Two, and BBC One.

First up at 9pm on Sky Atlantic is 'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms', a lively Game of Thrones prequel that's fully warmed up for action. Ser Duncan, a former Irish rugby player turned knight candidate, seeks a knighthood to gain entry into a tournament with his trusty squire Egg by his side. As the Targaryens arrive on the scene, Duncan seizes the opportunity to ask for their help – but will this alliance set events on a new trajectory?

On BBC Two at 6:30pm, Clive Myrie's African Adventure continues its journey through South Africa, exploring the vibrant culture and stunning landscapes of this fascinating continent. In this episode, Clive delves into car spinning, a thrilling new sport craze that has taken Soweto by storm.

Later tonight on BBC One at 8pm, 'Panorama: Post Office – Who's to Blame?' shines a light on the lingering controversy surrounding the Post Office scandal. Investigative reporter Andrew Verity seeks to clarify the situation and uncover who is truly responsible for the innocent postmasters who were wrongly jailed.

The drama unfolds in another gripping episode of 'Lynley', which begins at 8:30pm. When a young drug dealer's body is discovered, tortured and left to die like an animal, it sets off a chain reaction that exposes dark secrets and guilt among the characters.

For fans of dogs, Pete Wicks' charming show 'Pete Wicks: For Dogs' Sake' continues at 9pm on U&W, where he focuses on rehabilitating former racing greyhounds in need of love and care. Expect plenty of laughs and heartwarming moments from this lovable big man.

In the final hour of the night at 10:40pm, 'Industry' wraps up its episode with familiar faces Harper, Eric, and Sweetpea launching a new initiative that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Meanwhile, Yasmin gets close to newcomer Hayley, but is she hiding her own agenda?

To round off tonight's TV schedule, Reese Witherspoon stars in the 1999 classic 'Election', a sharp satire of political power-plays set in a Nebraska high school. Watch as Ferris Bueller, now Jim McAllister, sets out to sabotage over-achieving pupil Tracy Flick's student president campaign – with hilarious results.

I'm so excited for tonight's lineup 🤩! 'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms' is gonna bring the drama and fire 🔥 - I need more Targaryen goodness in my life! And can we talk about how underrated car spinning is? 😂 It's like, who knew that Soweto had such a cool new sport craze?! 🚗💨 But for real though, let's give it up for Pete Wicks and his adorable show 'Pete Wicks: For Dogs' Sake' - those racing greyhounds need all the love ❤️. And can we just say that 'Election' is a timeless classic? 😂 Ferris Bueller would be so proud of Jim McAllister's sabotage skills 🤣.

omg i cant even right now!! targaryens bring fire and blood is literally the best show ever!! the way they bring the dragon riders back in is so exciting!! i ship ser duncan and egg so hard they need to get their own spin off ASAP 🐉💖

🤔 you know i'm watching the game of thrones prequel and its getting me all shook up like 10 years ago when my kids were still young 🎉 they're really bringing fire and blood to that show now, but in a good way u feel? less sword fighting more politics and drama 📺 its kinda like how i used to get invested in the game of life back when i was younger, trying to make ends meet and figure out my place in the world 😊

I'm not sure how I feel about these new shows coming out... 'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms' sounds kinda like Game of Thrones, which was so intense back in the day 🤯. Remember when we used to binge-watch entire seasons in one go? Those were the days! Anyway, I hope it's better than just rehashing old ideas.

On a different note, Clive Myrie's show sounds super interesting... car spinning, you say? That reminds me of when I saw those crazy drift racing videos on YouTube back in 2010 🕺. And 'Panorama: Post Office – Who's to Blame?' sounds like a really serious issue that we need to talk about. It feels like every other week there's another scandal or controversy... what happened to the good old days when news was less sensationalized? 😔

And finally, I love Reese Witherspoon in 'Election'! That movie is so iconic 🎬. I remember watching it for the first time and just dying laughing at Jim McAllister's antics. It's crazy how some shows can transport us back to a different era... almost like we're reliving our childhoods or something 😅.

I'm so confused... I mean, I'm really excited about 'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms' and how it's going to shake things up in Westeros! 🤯 But at the same time, I'm like "wait, isn't this just another Game of Thrones spin-off?" And then again, I think maybe it is a great idea because we've been waiting so long for more Targaryen drama! 😂 Plus, who doesn't love dragons and epic battles? But on the other hand, aren't there already enough shows like this out there? 🤔 And what's up with all these different time slots tonight? Can't they just have a single, coherent viewing schedule? 😩

omg i just watched this episode of 'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms' and it was SO good!! 🤯 ser duncan is literally the most relatable guy ever - trying to get a knighthood and all he gets is people judging him for his lack of fighting skills 😂 but then those targaryens show up and now hes like "hey guys help me" and i'm over here thinking "same ser, same 🤣". also clive myrie's african adventure looks sooo good - car spinning? that sounds crazy fun! 🏎️

I don’t usually comment but I think it’s really cool that Sky Atlantic is bringing back the Targaryens in 'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms'. Game of Thrones was such a wild ride and I loved how they kept me guessing until the very end. The idea of Ser Duncan teaming up with the Targaryens sounds like an epic storyline, and I'm definitely going to check it out tonight. 🤔👑

The Targaryens are so intense right now 😂. I'm loving how they're stirring up all sorts of drama and power struggles in Westeros. The way Ser Duncan is trying to navigate the complex web of alliances and rivalries between the different houses is just so addictive. And can we talk about the tension between Rhaenyra and Daemon? It's like a real-life soap opera 📺. I'm also loving how they're bringing back some of the old characters from the original series, it's like they're setting up for another epic Game of Thrones series... fingers crossed! 💥

omg i'm so hyped for 'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms'!! i've been waiting for this game of thrones prequel for ages and i gotta say, the targaryens are bringing fire and blood to that show 🎯🔥 i mean, who doesn't love dragons and magic and epic battles? i'm shipping ser duncan and egg so hard it's like they're meant to be 👫💕 and can we talk about how cool it is that the show is getting more attention now that the original game of thrones has ended? anyway, i'll be watching this whole thing go down tonight with my popcorn 🍿👀

I'm so done with these Game of Thrones prequels 🤯. Like, what's next? The making of the White Walker's favorite smoothie recipe? "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" is just a bunch of dudes running around in armor, I mean, where's the drama? And don't even get me started on the Targaryens... bring fire and blood, but also can we get some decent plot development already? 🙄 And what's up with these "alliances" everyone's always making? It's just a bunch of power plays in my opinion 🤑. Anyway, I'm more excited to see what those post office scammers got themselves into, maybe someone should've thought that one through 😂.

so i'm watching this game of thrones prequel and i gotta say, it looks pretty exciting 🤔 but is the hype real or just another fad? like how many times do we need to rehash a medieval fantasy story for entertainment purposes? 🤷‍♂️ i mean, can't we move on to something new for once? anyway, it's definitely going to be interesting to see what happens with these Targaryens and their whole fire and blood thing 🔥

The Targaryen drama is always so intriguing 🤔. I think the show 'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms' is an awesome prequel to Game of Thrones. The way they're weaving in the Targaryen storyline is really clever and will definitely keep viewers hooked. They're bringing back that Fire and Blood vibe, which was a highlight of the original series 🔥.

I love how Ser Duncan, the rugby-turned-knight candidate, is trying to capitalize on the Targaryen presence for his own gain 🤑. The alliances he forms with them could lead to some explosive moments in future episodes. And Egg, his trusty squire, seems like a lovable and loyal sidekick – I'm excited to see more of their dynamic! 👥

It's interesting how they're using the Targaryen arrival as a catalyst for change in the Seven Kingdoms 🌎. Will this new alliance bring about a shift in power or will it just lead to more conflict? There are so many possibilities, and I'm eager to find out.

On another note, Pete Wicks' show 'Pete Wicks: For Dogs Sake' sounds adorable 🐾! Who wouldn't want to watch a big guy like him spend his time rehabilitating racing greyhounds? It's great to see shows that focus on animal welfare and rehabilitation – it's such an important cause.

😊 I feel you, watching all this drama unfold on TV tonight is like having your emotions in a rollercoaster 🎠! First 'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms' gets me so invested in Ser Duncan's journey and then 'Panorama: Post Office – Who's to Blame?' hits hard about the injustice that happened to those innocent postmasters 😩. Meanwhile, I'm laughing my heart out watching 'Pete Wicks: For Dogs' Sake' 🐶 and feeling all the feels with Harper's new initiative in 'Industry' 💼. Last but not least, Reese Witherspoon always gives me life in 'Election' 🤣! What's on your watchlist tonight?

I think its kinda cool how Targaryens Bring Fire and Blood on 'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms' is giving us a new perspective on Game of Thrones prequel shows. The way they're weaving in history and myth into the story is pretty interesting. And I love that Ser Duncan, the knight candidate, is trying to make a name for himself while dealing with these powerful Targaryens - its like he's caught between being a loyal servant and trying to advance his own career. Its also been kinda funny watching the way the other characters react to Duncan's sudden rise to fame... 😂

I'm hyped for the new Game of Thrones prequel but I gotta say, it feels like they're rushing into things. I mean, Targaryens just showing up and suddenly everyone wants their help? It's a bit convenient if you ask me 🤔. Still, I've been hooked from the get-go, so here for it! The cast looks solid, especially with that Irish rugby player turned knight candidate... sounds like some juicy drama 🔥. But can they make it work without feeling too formulaic?
