UAW, crowdfunding campaigns back Ford worker suspended for heckling Trump - Detroit Metro Times

A UAW VP has come to the defense of TJ Sabula, a Ford worker who was suspended after heckling President Trump during a plant tour in Dearborn. Laura Dickerson, UAW Vice President and Ford Department director, called Trump's response "vulgar" and said the union supports Sabula's right to free speech.

The incident occurred when Sabula shouted "pedophile protector" at Trump in reference to allegations that his administration is covering up an investigation into Jeffrey Epstein. Trump responded with a middle finger and mouthed "fuck you" twice.

Dickerson stated that the UAW will ensure Sabula receives full protection of his job and rights as a union member, citing negotiated contract language. The union condemned Trump's behavior, saying workers should never face such treatment from anyone, including the President of the United States.

Congresswomen Rashida Tlaib and Debbie Dingell have also spoken out in support of Sabula, with Tlaib saying that Trump is "protecting pedophiles". Two GoFundMe campaigns for Sabula have raised over $450,000, which a spokesperson confirmed are legitimate fundraisers.

🤯 Trump's behavior at the plant tour was absolutely outrageous 😡. I'm glad Laura Dickerson spoke up and stood by TJ Sabula's right to free speech 👊. It's not okay for workers to be heckled and then have their employer retaliate against them 🚫. The UAW is doing its job in protecting Sabula's rights, which is a big deal 👍. I'm also loving the fact that Congresswomen Tlaib and Dingell are supporting him too 💪. GoFundMe campaigns can get out of hand though, hope the money raised actually goes to help Sabula 🤞. Trump needs to learn how to respect people's boundaries and opinions, especially when he's in a public setting 👀.

Man... this whole thing got me thinking about the power of our words. I mean, TJ Sabula's outburst might've been loud and shocking, but it was also a cry for justice - he spoke truth to power, even if it wasn't in the most polite way. And Trump's response? Just brutal. 🤯

But here's the thing: we gotta stand up against those who silence us or try to intimidate us into keeping quiet. The UAW's support for Sabula is huge because it shows that workers deserve respect and protection - even when they're speaking out.

This whole incident also got me thinking about how our words can be both a blessing and a curse. Sabula's words might've been hurtful, but they were also needed to expose some dark truths. We gotta use our voices wisely, for the greater good. 💬

"You can't control the wind, but you can adjust your sails." 🌊👍 I think it's awesome to see workers standing up for their rights and speaking out against unacceptable behavior, especially from someone in power like Trump. It's not about being confrontational or rude, but about having a voice and holding people accountable. The fact that Sabula has such support from his union and Congresswomen is a great sign of solidarity and community spirit! 💪

🤔 this whole situation got me thinking - what's the line between standing up for what we believe in and being respectful to others? I mean, it's understandable that TJ Sabula was upset about Trump's handling of the Epstein thing, but shouting a hurtful phrase like "pedophile protector" isn't gonna get you anywhere, right? It's all about finding that balance between having a voice and respecting others' boundaries. The UAW is doing the right thing by standing up for Sabula, but we should also be teaching ourselves to express our opinions in a way that doesn't hurt anyone else... 💡

I think it's pretty wild how far the workers at that Ford plant went to stand up for their rights... I mean, they're not just talking about free speech, they're saying they won't tolerate disrespect from anyone, especially when it comes to allegations of serious crimes like pedophilia. It's kinda cool to see them taking a stance and having some of the powerful politicians in their corner too 🤝. The whole thing is also pretty revealing about how some people will react when they feel challenged or criticized... I mean, middle fingers and name-calling? That's not okay, especially from someone who's supposed to be representing the country 💁‍♀️.
