UK, France pledge ‘reassurance force’ for Ukraine after Russia ceasefire

the UK and France pledging a 'reassurance force' for Ukraine is a good thing 🤞, I just hope it doesn't create more tension between Russia and the rest of Europe. i mean, we've seen what happens when you try to impose your will on someone who's already feeling frustrated and scared.

i'm also curious about how this 'reassurance force' will work in practice - will it be a permanent presence or just a temporary deployment? and how will we know if Russia is really committed to stopping its aggression?

personally, i think Ukraine deserves all the support it can get right now 🙏. they've been through so much already and the last thing they need is more uncertainty.

I don’t usually comment but... I'm not sure if this sounds crazy but isn't it kinda weird that Russia's just gonna stop fighting unless there's a super comprehensive settlement? Like, what does that even mean? A "comprehensive settlement" sounds like some fancy diplomacy speak for "we'll only agree to peace if you do all our stuff". 🤔 I don't wanna be a hater or anything but isn't that kinda the opposite of reassurance? Shouldn't they just promise not to invade anymore and call it a day? 💔
