I'm so frustrated about these unpaid caregivers
. I mean, can you imagine having to choose between taking care of your loved one and working a full-time job? It's just not fair. The fact that they're doing 35 hours of caregiving work a week is already exhausting, let alone trying to balance it with paid employment. And don't even get me started on the ones from lower-income families who are struggling to make ends meet

The report makes some valid points about how policymakers have neglected this issue, but I think that's an understatement. The government's response of just giving them a small cash increase in carer's allowance is just not enough
. We need to see real change, like paid carer's leave and better support systems.
It's also disturbing that the Department for Work and Pensions made so many mistakes with the earnings rules, resulting in people getting prosecuted and facing criminal records
. This is a clear example of how much more work needs to be done to support these vulnerable individuals. We need policymakers who will listen and take action, not just pay lip service to the issue

I feel so sorry for these 1 million caregivers who are shouldering such a huge responsibility. They're basically working two jobs without any recognition or compensation 
. It's not just about the lack of paid work opportunities, but also the financial struggles they face with unpaid care expenses 
. Can't we give these unsung heroes the recognition they deserve?
