United Kingdom: Man admits drugging, raping ex-wife

Local Councillor Guilty of Decades-Long Campaign of Drugging and Rape

A British local councillor has admitted to committing nearly 50 crimes, including multiple counts of drugging and raping his ex-wife over a prolonged period. The alleged abuse occurred between 2010 and 2023, with the trial set to commence in October.

The former councillor pleaded guilty to a staggering array of offences, which spanned more than a decade. This is a stark example of how power and authority can be used to commit heinous crimes behind closed doors.

According to reports, the abuse took place between 2010 and 2023, leaving his ex-wife to suffer for nearly a decade at the hands of her former partner. It's appalling that such a long period was allowed to pass before the perpetrator was brought to justice.

The fact that the trial is set to begin in October highlights the need for greater support systems in place to protect victims and ensure accountability for perpetrators like this individual.

My god, can you even believe what this guy has done?! 50 crimes? Nearly a decade of drugging and raping his own wife... it's just horrific 🤯. I mean, how could someone be so selfish and twisted?! He was in a position of power, he had access to people's lives, and he abused that for YEARS. And the fact that it took almost 10 years for him to get caught is just unbelievable. What kind of system allows this to happen?! 🚔

I'm so sorry for his ex-wife, she must have suffered so much. I can only imagine how hard it's going to be for her to face him in court again. And what about all the other people he may have hurt during that time? We need to make sure they're also held accountable 🤝.

This is just a massive wake-up call, you know?! We need to rethink our systems and make sure we're supporting victims better and holding perpetrators like this one accountable for their actions 💪. It's not okay, and it never will be 😡.

I'm literally shaking my head over this one 🤕. A councillor, of all people! They're supposed to be setting a good example for their community, but instead they're showing us that even the most powerful among us can use that power for the worst intentions. It's just heartbreaking to think about the poor ex-wife who went through all that trauma and pain without anyone believing her or doing anything to stop it.

It's also really frustrating because this is exactly why we need more support systems in place for victims of abuse, especially those with power or influence. We can't keep relying on old-school justice systems that take forever to catch up. It's time for us to come together and demand change 🚨.

🚨 This guy's been getting away with this crap for years and it's just disgusting! I mean, what kinda sicko uses his power to manipulate and control someone like that? It's like he thought he was above the law or something. Newsflash: you're not untouchable just 'cause you're in a position of authority 🙄.

And can we talk about how long it took for someone to notice something was up with this guy? I mean, 13 years is a bloody eternity! What kind of system fails that badly? We need better support systems in place, stat. Our exes and loved ones shouldn't have to suffer like that. This guy's gonna get locked up where he belongs 🚔👮‍♂️.

🤯 yikes, cant even believe what's goin on rn... all those years of abuse and he was still holdin a position of power 🙅‍♂️. its mind-boggling how ppl can use their authority to hurt others so badly. the fact that it took almost 2 decades for him to be caught is just wild, what kinda system fails like that? 🤦‍♀️. gotta give major props tho to his ex-wife for speakin out and fightin for justice 🙌. we need more stories like this to shine a light on how we can do better in supportin victims and holdin perpetrators accountable 💪.

ugh man... it's just so messed up how this guy managed to get away with it for so long, it's like he was above the law or something 🤦‍♂️. i mean, as a councillor, you'd think they'd have more checks in place, but clearly that wasn't the case here. and what really gets me is that his ex-wife had to suffer through all this for nearly 10 years... it's just heartbreaking thinking about it 😩. anyway, i guess the fact that he's finally going to face justice is a good start, but we need more than just trials to make sure these things don't happen again 🤝. maybe some kind of therapy or support system for victims and their families? that'd be a step in the right direction, imo 💡.

Ugh, my god 🤯, can you even believe what's happening here?! This guy, a so-called "councillor" (lol like that's even relevant), is admitting to drugging and raping his ex-wife for 13 years?! Like, how does one even rationalize that kind of thing? It's disgusting on every level 🤢

And can you imagine being in her shoes, having to live with this monster for so long without knowing he was even capable of such things? I mean, we always hear about power corrupting, but this is like the ultimate example of it. He was in a position of authority, yet he used that to exploit and control someone at his whim.

And what's even more infuriating is that it took so long for him to get caught. Like, where were all these victims during all those years? Why wasn't anyone stepping up to help her or stop him? It's a travesty that we're only hearing about this now because he's finally been brought to justice.

I'm just so angry and disgusted by this whole situation 😤, but at the same time I'm also really grateful that his ex-wife is finally going to get some semblance of closure. We need more support systems in place for victims like her, not less 🙏.

can't believe how long it took for someone in power to get caught, feels like a never ending cycle of abuse and cover up 🤕. should've been more consequences for him back then, instead we're just now dealing with the fallout. hope his ex-wife gets some kind of justice and closure, she's been through hell for far too long 😔
