Unmarked Police Vehicle Stolen in Downtown Houston, Man Arrested

this is just crazy dude, some dude walks up to a police car with a detective working inside and just jumps in? like what's going on here? 
did they even do a background check on the guy who was driving around with that badge? it's one thing if you're just trying to score some free stuff but this is a police officer with a gun... that's just not right 
! I mean, an unhoused guy steals a detective's car with the keys still inside? That's some next level stuff right there 
. And the fact that she was in full uniform and had her gun out (which thankfully didn't get used) is even more wild. You've got to wonder what went through his mind, like, did he really think no one would notice or care?
. They're already doing their best to keep us safe, but sometimes they need some extra protection from people like this guy

like he thought he could just waltz in and out of a crime scene without getting caught?

it's like a miracle or something! But seriously, this is such a huge wake up call for law enforcement - we need to be doing more to protect our officers and keep them safe on the job 
And can you even believe the guy just walked into the car while she was working? Like, what is wrong with people?!

they're literally heroes for putting themselves in harm's way every day 
Can you even imagine being a cop and having your ride stolen like that?! I mean, I've heard stories about thefts going down in broad daylight, but this is just ridiculous. The detective was literally working on the job and still got robbed like that. 
she's gotta be super stressed thinking about this tho, always on edge, never know when this could happen again 
I'm so bummed about this - it's just not right that someone would steal from a police detective, especially when she was in full uniform and with her gun out! 
Anyways, I think this is a great reminder for us all to be more aware of our surroundings and to always lock up our stuff. I mean, it's not just cars, but also bikes, bags... you name it! 
And can we just say that our first responders are putting their lives on the line every day? 
They deserve our respect and safety, not some brazen thief trying to take advantage of them.

. but i'm glad no one got hurt and the police were able to catch him quickly 
. i mean, i'm glad no one got hurt but seriously, who leaves keys in an unmarked vehicle when they're on the job? seems like a pretty basic security fail to me 
Its just not right. The worst part is people think cops are invincible and theyre not. This incident needs to be looked into and theres gotta be some changes made so this dont happen again...
