US says ‘all options on the table’ if Iran protest killings continue

US Officials Leave Door Open for Military Action Against Iran as Killings Continue

The White House has made it clear that all options are on the table when it comes to taking military action against Iran, citing "grave consequences" if the killings of antigovernment protesters continue. The warning came from Karoline Leavitt, the Press Secretary at the White House, who stated that US President Donald Trump and his team had communicated with Iran's government that if the killings persisted, there would be severe repercussions.

However, this stance appears to have been softened slightly by Trump himself, who earlier in the day claimed that he had received assurances from Iranian officials that the killings had ceased. This has led to a mixed message from the US administration regarding its intentions towards Iran.

The unrest began late last year and has spread across cities and towns, resulting in the deaths of over 1,000 protesters, according to activist groups. The Iranian government claims that more than 100 security officers have been killed in attacks during the demonstrations, but these figures are not independently verified.

Despite Trump's softer tone, Washington has issued fresh sanctions against several officials, including Ali Larijani, who is accused of being one of the architects of the Iranian government's brutal response to the protests. The move suggests that the US remains committed to putting pressure on Iran's government.

The situation in Iran remains volatile, with a nationwide internet blackout hitting its one-week mark and security forces heavily reinforced in cities across the country. Meanwhile, the US military is reportedly on high alert, with Iranian Defence Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh warning that the government will use all necessary capabilities to suppress the unrest.

As tensions continue to escalate, it remains to be seen whether the White House's "all options" rhetoric will translate into actual military action against Iran.

man... this is getting crazy 😱 1k+ people dead and still no clear resolution. Trump's message keeps changing - one day it's all or nothing, next day it's all calm and quiet 🤯. I don't trust the messaging here. It feels like they're just trying to intimidate Iran into shutting up without actually solving anything. And what about holding the US government accountable for their own actions? 💔 The sanctions on Iranian officials seem like a pretty obvious move to exert pressure, but what's really going on behind the scenes? There needs to be some transparency here... 🤷‍♂️

[Image of a clock with a skull in the center, ticking away](😱💥) US officials are like: "We're not gonna do anything 🤷‍♂️" then suddenly change to: "We might do something 😈" [GIF of a person's face changing from serious to goofy] Make up your minds, guys! 🤯

[Image of Donald Trump with a confused expression](🙄) He says one thing and does another... like that one aunt at the family reunion 🎉 "I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed 😔" [GIF of a person rolling their eyes]

I mean, who needs diplomacy when you can just bomb a country and call it a day 🤣? The US is basically saying "Hey Iran, calm down or we'll blow stuff up 😅". And then Trump goes out and says he got assurances from the Iranians that everything's cool... yeah right, like that's going to happen. It's all just a big game of chicken with nuclear-armed countries 🚀. And honestly, I'm not sure what's more concerning, the fact that there are over 1,000 people dead or that Trump thinks this is a great way to address it 💔.

I'm getting really worried about this situation in Iran 🤕. It seems like the US is still looking for an excuse to take drastic measures against the country, and it's just not right. I mean, who gets killed by their own government? It's insane! 😱 The fact that there are more than 1,000 protesters dead and over 100 security officers killed too is just horrific. How can we expect Iran's government to trust anyone when it seems like they're getting threatened with military action all the time?

I also don't get why Trump is sending mixed signals about this. If he says one thing and does another, what's up? Is he really trying to help or is he just trying to cover his own backside? 🤔 The sanctions against Iranian officials are a good start, but we need more than just talk – we need real change. The internet blackout in Iran is still going on for over a week and it's like they're not even listening to the people. This situation needs to be handled with care, not like a game of thrones 🙅‍♂️.

🤔 I don't trust this whole "grave consequences" thing. Sounds like a threat to me, but they're not following through with actual actions. Just a bunch of bluster from Trump and his team. Like, where's the concrete evidence of these "grave consequences"? What are we talking about here? Is it just a veiled warning or is there some real intention behind this? 🤷‍♂️

And what about these sanctions they're issuing against Iranian officials? Are those even effective? We know Iran can't be stopped with just economic pressure. They'll just find other ways to adapt and keep going on like normal.

Also, have we seen any real movement towards resolving the protests or addressing the grievances of the protesters? It feels like nothing's changing, just a bunch of empty rhetoric from the US side. 🤐

omg what is going on with iran lol its like they're walking on thin ice 🤯 and the us is just standing there watching and waiting for them to make a move 🤔 i feel bad for the protesters, 1000 people dead is crazy 😭 but at the same time, the us is being super unclear about what they want from iran 🤷‍♀️ like do they really wanna go to war or are they just trying to put pressure on them? 🤝 idk but one thing's for sure, it's getting super tense over there 💥

I don’t usually comment but I think its pretty worrying what’s going on in Iran right now 🤕. The killings of protesters have been going on for ages and nobody seems to know when it’ll stop or how many people will get hurt. It feels like the US is kinda playing a double game - one minute they’re saying all options are on the table, next they're saying they got assurances from Iran that everything's fine 💯. And now they’re slapping sanctions on some Iranian officials 🚫. I don’t know what to make of it but I think its time for the US and Iran to sort out their differences without involving all these military options 🔥. Can we just hope it gets resolved soon?

I'm getting a bad vibe from this situation in Iran 🤕. The US is basically saying we'll do whatever it takes to stop those killings, but Trump's words are all over the place 🗺️. One day he's saying everything's fine, the next he's warning them about severe repercussions 😬. It's like they can't make up their minds. And what's with all these sanctions? Is that just a way to show we're still paying attention? 🤑 I'm worried it'll escalate into something big, but I don't know if anyone in power actually wants war 💥. The world is holding its breath for this one... 🌎

OMG, can't believe what's going on in Iran right now 🤯💥 The situation is getting more and more volatile by the minute, and I'm literally glued to my screen wondering what's gonna happen next 😲 I feel so bad for all those innocent people who have lost their lives already... it's just heartbreaking 💔

The US government seems really divided on how to handle this, like, one day they're saying 'all options are on the table' and the next day Trump is talking about getting assurances from Iran that everything is okay 🤷‍♀️ Can we please just have a clear plan here? 🙄 It's not fair to the protesters who are still risking their lives every day.

I'm also super worried about the internet blackout - it's like they're trying to cut off all communication and news from the outside world, which can't be good for anyone 💻 And with security forces on high alert, I'm literally living in fear for everyone involved 🙏 Let's just hope that someone can find a way to resolve this peacefully soon 🤞

Just saw this news and I'm getting anxious 🤯💥! Like, can't we just talk about this peacefully? The whole situation in Iran is super disturbing 😩. But you know what's even more disturbing? The fact that the US is playing with fire over here 🔥. If they're really considering military action against Iran, it could lead to a total catastrophe 🌪️. I mean, think about it - the last thing we need is another war in the Middle East 😓. Let's just hope Trump and his team can put their differences aside and find a peaceful solution 💕. Or, you know, maybe the Iranians will just take them seriously and cease all hostilities 🤞. Fingers crossed!

This whole situation is super worrying 🤕 I mean, one minute they're saying all options are on the table and we'll do whatever it takes to stop the killings, and the next minute Trump's like everything's cool and the protests have stopped 🙄 It's like, what's going on here? Are they just trying to scare Iran into submission, or is there something more at play?

I think the US needs to be careful with their words right now. All options being on the table can be interpreted as a threat, and that's only gonna escalate things further 🔥 The Iranian government has already been warned about the consequences of not stopping these killings, and it sounds like they're taking them seriously 😬

At the same time, I get why Trump is trying to make some kind of deal. He's probably under pressure from his advisors and the military to do something, but what that "something" looks like is anyone's guess 🤷‍♂️ One thing's for sure, though - we need a way out of this cycle of violence ASAP 💥

I'm getting worried about this situation in Iran 🤕🌟. The US is all like "we're gonna take action if they don't stop these killings" but at the same time Trump is saying that everything is fine with Iran... it's just confusing 🤔👀. I mean, what even are they trying to achieve here? The protests have been going on for ages and we still don't know the root cause of the problem 💔.

And on top of this, the sanctions against Iranian officials seem a bit harsh ⚠️. Are they really gonna make Iran back down with just more pressure? 🤷‍♂️ It feels like the US is trying to provoke them into doing something rash. We should be talking about finding a peaceful solution instead of threatening war 💪🌎.

I'm still on Team Platform, btw 😜. Can't believe the drama that goes down when it comes to geopolitics 🤯.

This whole thing is just getting out of hand 🤯. I'm not sure what the US wants to achieve here, but sanctions and all this talk of military action just seems like a recipe for disaster 💥. The Iranian government is already cracking down hard on its people, and now you're talking about putting in more troops? It's like they want to fan the flames 🔥. Trump's got his facts mixed up if he thinks Iranian officials are going to tell him everything 🤷‍♂️. And what's with all these 'grave consequences' and 'severe repercussions'? Sounds like a lot of hot air 💨 to me. The US needs to focus on finding peaceful solutions, not threatening more violence 💔. Can't we all just talk this out? 🗣️ #IranProtests #DiplomacyOverWarfare

I'm worried about this escalating situation in Iran 🤕. It feels like the US is walking a thin line here and I don't want anyone to get hurt on either side. Trump's initial statement sounds pretty dire, but then he says he got assurances from Iran that everything is fine... it's hard to keep up with what's going on there.

Sanctions against Ali Larijani make sense though - the Iranian government has been super harsh on protesters and that needs to be called out. At the same time, I don't want the US to escalate things without trying other diplomatic avenues first 🤔. This is such a complex situation and it's hard to see how all these different factors can be resolved peacefully.

One thing that's got me thinking is what would happen if this conflict were to spill over into another country? We're always talking about how important international relations are, but in situations like this... I don't know, maybe we need a way to stop the bleeding before things get out of hand 💸

🤕 I'm getting really worried about what's going on in Iran right now 😱. The killings of protesters are absolutely horrific and it's heartbreaking to see so many innocent lives lost 🙏. I think we need to take a step back and try to understand the situation from all sides, rather than just taking a hardline stance with our military 🤝.

I'm also super concerned about the internet blackout - how can people even get information about what's going on if they don't have access to it? 📊 It feels like we're being cut off from the truth and that's terrifying 😨. I just want world leaders to put their heads together and find a peaceful solution to this crisis before things escalate further 💔.

I'm also thinking about our own mental health here... watching all these news reports can be really overwhelming and emotional 🤯. Let's make sure we're taking care of ourselves while we're following the news, okay? 💖

Ugh, can't believe we're back to this drama already... 🤦‍♂️ Like, seriously, how many times do we need to remind them that threats only lead to more problems? Trump's all bark and no bite is the best case scenario here – hope the Iranian government doesn't take it as a challenge to up their game. Sanctions are one thing, but actual military action would be a whole different story... 🤔

man, i feel like we're gettin' caught up in this whole us vs iran thing 🤯 and i'm just tryin' to see both sides of the coin, you know? karoline leavitt's statement sounds pretty serious, but then trump comes along and says everything's cool 😎. it's like, can we really expect them to keep their word when there's so much at stake?

i mean, i get that protests are a big deal and the us needs to show some kind of support for iran's people, but military action? that's just gonna lead to more bloodshed and suffering 💔. it's like, can't we try to find a way to resolve this peacefully or somethin'?

anyway, i'm just worried about all the lives bein' lost on both sides of the conflict 🤕. if the us is really serious about puttin' pressure on iran's gov't, maybe they should focus on diplomacy instead of sanctions 🤝. but at the same time, i don't want them to just sit back and do nothin' either 👀.

i guess what i'm sayin' is that we need to keep an eye on this situation and see how it all plays out 💡. one thing's for sure, though: innocent lives are bein' lost and we need to find a way to bring some peace back to iran 🕊️.

😡 I'm getting so frustrated with this situation in Iran... these innocent protesters are being brutally killed and no one seems to care 🤕. It's like the US is just going to stand by and watch while Iran tears itself apart 💥. Trump says he got assurances that the killings have stopped, but I don't believe it for a second 🙄. Meanwhile, they're still slapping sanctions on officials who are basically telling people "no way we're not stopping this" 😤. And what's with all these warnings of military action? Can't they just keep their word for once?! 💔 It feels like the whole world is just letting Iran get away with this... I'm so angry 😡

😕 I'm so worried about what's happening in Iran right now... 1,000 people have lost their lives and over a million are protesting in the streets... it's just heartbreaking 🤯. The US is being pretty aggressive with these sanctions and all this "all options" talk is making me super nervous 😬. I just wish they could find a way to calm things down peacefully 💕. It feels like no one is listening to each other or trying to understand the situation at all 🙄. Can't we all just try to get along? 🤗
