Victory Brewing is making a beer for America's 250th birthday

Victory Brewing Co. Celebrates 250 Years of American Independence with Unique Ale.

In anticipation of the nation's milestone birthday, Victory Brewing Co., a renowned brewery in Downingtown, Pennsylvania, has collaborated with Visit Philadelphia to create a limited-edition ale dubbed Philly First. The special brew is scheduled to hit taprooms starting February 15th, followed by regional bars two weeks later and will also be available in 16-ounce cans at local distributors and beer boutiques.

According to Kelly Irvine, senior brand manager for Victory Brewing, the Philadelphia-born beer aims to embody the city's spirit of celebration, tradition, and pride. "Beer has a way of bringing people together," she said, emphasizing the brew's intention to unite Americans during this momentous occasion.

Philly First boasts an ABV of 4.8%, offering a crisp and easy-drinking experience with hints of tropical fruit and light hop notes. The beer's packaging features illustrations inspired by Philadelphia's rich history, including the city's first public lending library founded by Benjamin Franklin in 1731 and the iconic slinky toy.

Victory Brewing has been celebrating its own anniversary, as founders Bill Covaleski and Ron Barchet opened their first location in Downingtown in 1996. The brewery has since expanded to multiple taprooms across Pennsylvania.

I'm not sure about this one πŸ€”... a beer for American Independence? It feels like just another marketing gimmick to me. I mean, what's next? A beer for the first day of summer or the start of football season? Don't get me wrong, Philly First sounds alright, but 250 years is a big deal... should they be celebrating with beer instead of actual historical events or cultural experiences? 🍺

OMG 🀯 this is so cool! I mean, 250 years of American Independence is a big deal, right? πŸŽ‰ But you know what's even crazier? That there's actually an ale made for the occasion... and it's got a pretty good ABV too at 4.8%! I'm not saying it'll knock me off my feet or anything πŸ˜‚, but I do love that it's meant to bring people together - nothing says unity like a cold beer, right? 🍺 And can we talk about the packaging? Illustrations of Philly history are everything πŸ’―... I mean, who wouldn't want a beer with a slinky on the label? 🀣 It's all about celebrating tradition and pride, which is really nice to see. Anyway, I'm definitely adding this one to my list of beers to try - thanks for the rec! πŸ‘

Meh, I dunno... a beer for the 4th of July feels kinda like a marketing ploy, you know? Like, can't they just let it be a thing without trying to capitalize on a holiday πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. That being said, Philly First does sound pretty cool, especially with all those tropical fruit notes and hoppy vibes 😎. The historical nods are a nice touch too, I guess. But at the end of the day, is one beer really gonna change anything? πŸ€” Still, if it's good and people want to drink it, why not, right? 🍺

This whole thing reeks of a controlled narrative... I mean, think about it - American Independence Day is just around the corner, and what do you get? A special ale with some fancy history lessons thrown in πŸ€”. And what's really "special" about Philly First? That it's going to bring people together, huh? Sounds like a PR stunt to me πŸ“’. I'm not buying the whole "beer brings people together" thing, especially when you're selling it for a pretty penny at bars and boutiques. Something fishy is going on here... maybe Victory Brewing is trying to create some sort of patriotic buzz to distract us from whatever's really going on? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

I'm so down for this Philly First ale 🀩 but at the same time, I don't know if it's necessary to create a special beer just for American Independence Day... I mean, can't they just stick to what they do best - brew awesome beer? πŸ˜‚ But then again, isn't beer a big part of bringing people together and celebrating milestones like this? πŸ€” It seems contradictory to me that I'm excited about the idea but also kinda skeptical... maybe it's the beer's ABV that's throwing me off, 4.8% feels a bit too high for an "easy-drinking experience" if you ask me... πŸ˜•

Dude, this is so cool! I love how Victory Brewing Co is getting in on the American Independence vibe πŸŽ‰. Philly First sounds like a sick beer, though - 4.8% ABV and tropical fruit notes? That's like a party in your glass 🍺🎊. And can we talk about the packaging for a sec? Those illustrations are straight fire πŸ”₯. I mean, who doesn't love a good tribute to Benjamin Franklin's library and that iconic Slinky toy 🀣. It's awesome that they're celebrating both Philly's history and their own brewery's anniversary - it's like they're bringing two cultures together in beer form πŸ’•. Anyway, can't wait to try this bad boy out when it hits taprooms on Feb 15th πŸŽ‰

idk why ppl gotta make a big deal about beer celebratin' american independence πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ i mean, its just a brew, right? but at the same time, its cool that victory brewing co is gettin all creative with this philly first ale and makin it available in 16-ounce cans - thats actually pretty smart marketing. and hey, if beer brings people together then more power to that πŸ’• my thing is that 4.8% abv might be a tad too low for some folks who can handle the good stuff, but oh well, to each their own πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

I think it's kinda weird that they're making a beer for the USA's birthday πŸ€”πŸΊ. I mean, we have our own school celebrations and stuff, why do we need a whole national thing? Don't get me wrong, Philly First sounds pretty good tho πŸΊπŸ‘Œ - I'm all about trying new beers on Fridays after school! 😎 The history behind it is actually really cool, though - I'd love to see more brews with educational themes... like beer-making classes in school or something! πŸ“šπŸΊ

I'm telling you, something fishy is going on here... πŸ€” Victory Brewing Co. just so happens to release a limited-edition ale around the same time America's birthday is coming up? It's like they're trying to cash in on our national pride... or maybe even create some sort of mind control through beer? 😏 The ABV and flavor profile sound pretty standard, but I bet there's more to this Philly First brew than meets the eye. Have you noticed how the packaging features Benjamin Franklin's library and a slinky toy? That's just too convenient... πŸ€‘

omg i'm literally freaking out for victory brewing co!!!! 🀩 they're collaborating with visit philly to create this amazing limited-edition ale called Philly First πŸŽ‰ and it's gonna be available starting Feb 15th πŸ“† can't wait to try it!! 🍺 the packaging looks so cool, love all the historical references πŸ‘€ benjamin franklin would be proud πŸ™ the fact that victory brewing co is celebrating their own anniversary too is just a bonus πŸŽ‚ they're literally bringing people together with beer and it's such a beautiful thing ❀️ Philly First sounds like an amazing brew too, 4.8% abv and tropical fruit notes sound divine 🍴 can't wait to get my hands on this!! πŸ’–

πŸ€” I'm stoked about this collab between Victory Brewing Co. and Visit Philly for the 250th anniversary of American Independence πŸŽ‰! A limited-edition ale celebrating our nation's birthday is pretty cool, I guess... but I do wonder if it's just a marketing ploy to cash in on patriotic feelings 😊. Still, the fact that they've put some thought into creating an actual beer that reflects Philly's spirit and history is awesome 🎨. The idea of beer bringing people together is still valid, imo πŸ‘. But have you tried Philly First yet? I'm curious to know if it lives up to the hype... maybe? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

man this philly first ale sounds like a sick brew 🀩 i love how they're incorporating the city's history into the packaging, it's so cool to see ben franklin and that slinky toy on the can πŸ“¦πŸŽ‰ 250 years of american independence is a big deal, and beer brings people together for sure. plus, who doesn't love tropical fruit flavors? gotta try this one out when it drops! πŸΊπŸ‘

idk why breweries always gotta make a big deal about independence day πŸ€” they're already doing great stuff, no need to get fancy with special beers 😊 that being said, i do love the packaging for Philly First, those illustrations are really cool and nostalgic πŸ‘ benjamin franklin's first public lending library is such a fascinating piece of history, it's awesome that victory brewery brought it to life on their beer πŸ“š now if they could work out some formatting issues with their website design, that'd be a major win for me πŸ˜…

I'm not sure I'd want a beer to be the official way Americans celebrate their independence, ya know? πŸ€” It just seems like a bunch of folks sippin' on a drink and forgettin' about all the hard work that went into gettin' there in the first place. I mean, don't get me wrong, a cold one can be nice after a long day, but it's not exactly the most meaningful way to honor 250 years of history, if you ask me 😐.

Still, gotta give credit where credit is due - Victory Brewing Co.'s got some great beers and they're doin' their part to bring people together. And hey, if the Philly First ale brings a smile to someone's face and reminds 'em of the good times, that's all well and good πŸŽ‰. Just hope we don't get too caught up in the party atmosphere and forget about what really matters ❀️

just saw this news about Victory Brewing Co making a special ale for America's 250th birthday πŸŽ‰ it seems kinda cool that they're releasing a unique beer with tropical fruit and hop notes... i mean, who doesn't love a good beer on a special occasion? the packaging looks pretty neat too, all those Philly history references are nice touches πŸ“šπŸ‘ i wonder if it's gonna be a hit or just another brew out there...

I'm stoked they're releasing this limited-edition ale πŸŽ‰, but 250 years of American independence? That's a pretty big deal, and I wonder if they're gonna make it too commercialized πŸ€‘. As much as I love Philly, I hope the brew stays true to its roots and doesn't get lost in the hype.

I do love the idea of beer bringing people together, though πŸ‘«, and I'm curious to see how this one turns out. The tropical fruit notes sound refreshing, but I'm not sold on the 4.8% ABV - might be a bit too hoppy for my taste 😎. And those illustrations on the packaging? Cool idea, but could they've included more iconic Philly landmarks like Independence Hall or the Liberty Bell instead of that old library πŸ€”?

Still, kudos to Victory Brewing for collaborating with Visit Philly and celebrating American independence in a unique way 🎊. Can't wait to try it out and share my thoughts with fellow beer enthusiasts!

so they're releasing a beer to celebrate American independence and it's called Philly First πŸΊπŸŽ‰ that sounds pretty cool I wonder what the story is behind the slinky toy on the packaging? is it like a nod to benjamin franklin or just a random design choice πŸ˜„

also, 250 years of american independence seems like a big deal! do people in philadelphia really need an excuse to drink more beer 🀣 seriously though, I think it's awesome that victory brewing is getting involved and creating something special for the occasion.

anyway, I'm kinda curious if they'll release this beer in other states or countries? would it be a usa-only thing or can we get our paws on it elsewhere too πŸ€”

idk why they gotta make a beer for every single special day πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ ... like it's not enough that we got patriots brewing awesome beers already 🍺... but i guess it's cool that Philly First is gonna bring ppl together, that's def true about beer being a uniting force πŸ‘«... and the packaging with history illustrations sounds pretty neat πŸ“š... 250 yrs of independence tho? seems like a big deal... victory brewing's been around for like 29 yrs already, dont they think that's enough? πŸ˜‚

πŸ€” so a beer company is creating a new ale to celebrate America's birthday? that's cool, I guess. but what's the point of making a special beer just for one day a year? can't they just make it available all the time and call it their "birthday beer"? and 4.8% ABV sounds kinda weak, I'm used to craft beers with like 7-10% ABV. and tropical fruit flavors? isn't that just a marketing gimmick to appeal to people who like fruity beers? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ source please πŸ“
