Video Shows ICE Agent’s Fatal Shooting of Civilian in Minneapolis

A federal law enforcement agent has been charged with fatally shooting a civilian during an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raid in Minneapolis. Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year-old woman, was shot multiple times after her vehicle blocked the roadway where agents were trying to apprehend undocumented immigrants.

According to video footage obtained by The Intercept, federal agents approached the car and asked the driver to exit the vehicle. However, instead of complying, Good's car sped away, narrowly avoiding several federal agents before slamming into another vehicle, causing smoke to billow from its engine.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) claimed that the agent who fired at Good was acting in self-defense after she allegedly attempted to run over his vehicle with her own car. However, eyewitnesses describe a different scene where protesters were simply filming agents and telling them to leave the neighborhood when one federal officer opened fire on her vehicle.

Mayor Jacob Frey of Minneapolis called DHS's version of events "bullshit" and stated that the shooting was an example of how Trump's policies are creating fear among immigrant communities. Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., and Minneapolis Council Member Soren Stevenson referred to Good as a "legal observer," highlighting concerns over civil liberties during these raids.

This incident is one of several recent instances where federal law enforcement agents have used deadly force against unarmed individuals in the context of immigration-related operations.

I think we're just hearing the tip of the iceberg here... people need to understand that these " raids" are not just about catching immigrants, it's also about policing communities that are already on edge due to systemic racism and lack of trust in law enforcement 🤬. We can't just blame this one incident on Trump's policies or DHS's version of events without acknowledging the history of trauma and mistrust that these communities face.

And what really gets me is how we're demonizing Renee Nicole Good as some kind of "troublemaker" who was trying to run down a federal agent. Did we not see the footage where protesters were calmly filming agents and telling them to leave? It's like we expect everyone in those neighborhoods to be law-abiding citizens without ever questioning their authority 🙄.

This whole situation stinks of oppression, and I'm calling out all you politicians who are trying to spin this as some kind of "tragic accident" or a "misunderstanding". We need more transparency, accountability, and a deeper understanding of the complexities at play here 💯.

I'm so done with these ICE raids 🤯! They're just creating more problems than they solve. First, you got people like Renee Good who are just trying to protect themselves and their community, and then you got agents who can't even handle a simple situation. I mean, come on, if she was going to run over the agent's car, wouldn't she have done it by now? 🙄 And what about all these protesters filming the agents and telling them to leave? Do they get a medal for being brave or something? 😂

And can we talk about how DHS is always trying to spin this stuff? "Self-defense" my foot! 😂 It's just a cover-up. The fact that Mayor Frey is calling BS on their version of events says a lot. And Rep. Omar and Soren Stevenson are right, these raids are creating fear and tension among immigrant communities. It's like they're just trying to suck the life out of them.

And don't even get me started on Trump's policies 🤦‍♂️. They're just fueling all this drama and conflict. We need to rethink how we're handling immigration in this country, for real. This just makes me so frustrated 😡

Omg u wont believe whats been happenin with ICE raids... 😱 this 1 guy just got shot and killed by a federal agent during an raid in Minneapolis 🤯 like, what r we even doin here? 🙄 eyewitnesses say he wasnt even tryna hurt nobody, just filming the agents and telling them 2 leave the neighborhood 📹💁‍♀️ but nope, this guy pulls out his gun and starts firin... its just so senseless 💀 like, we r talkin bout people lives here 🕊️ not some number 2 be used as an example of "enforcement" 🤦‍♂️ what's goin on with our country? 🤷‍♀️😩

omg, what's going on with these ICE raids? 🤯 they're just creating more and more chaos, and now someone has to pay for it... a life, which is just so senseless. I mean, can't we just talk about this stuff without people getting hurt? 🙄 the video footage shows like, what, protesters trying not to be aggressive at all, but then some cop just opens fire on them... it's insane.

and another thing, what's with the "self-defense" excuse? 💁‍♀️ if you're gonna shoot someone, it better be because they're trying to hurt you, not because they're just filming you and telling you to leave. that doesn't sound like self-defense to me at all... more like a whole lot of overreach.

anyway, I'm just so disappointed in our country right now. we should be able to have an open conversation about immigration and how to deal with it, without resorting to violence and intimidation. 🤝 but no, instead we're just seeing more and more stories like this... it's just not okay. 😔

OMG, I'm soooo shocked this happened 🤯! But wait, isn't it true that some people are saying the woman did try to run over the agent? Like, we don't know all the facts and it's not like anyone can see into her mind or anything... but at the same time, I totally get why Mayor Frey would call out DHS for their "bullshit" explanation 🤦‍♀️. And, you know what? I kinda agree with Rep. Omar that Trump's policies are super scary for immigrants, but like, shouldn't we also be talking about how some people were just filming the agents and trying to leave peacefully? It's all so complicated! 🙄 Can't we just get to the bottom of this without jumping straight to conclusions? 🤔 Ugh, I'm totally torn on this one 😩

I don't know, man... I think the agent was totally justified to shoot Renee Good, like, what if she had actually tried to run over him? 🤔 But at the same time, I'm all for protesting and exercising our rights as citizens, you know? And Mayor Frey's right that Trump's policies are super scary for immigrant communities. I mean, no one should have to live in fear of getting raided by ICE just because they're undocumented... or are they? 🤷‍♂️ Like, can't we all just get along and follow the law? But on the other hand, what if the agent had just yelled at her instead of shooting? Would that have been enough? 😕 I don't know, I'm totally torn about this one...

I'm literally shook 😱 by this whole situation in Minneapolis 📍. The fact that a civilian was fatally shot during an ICE raid, and the government's explanation for it is just... wow 🤯. It's like, come on, DHS, can't you see how messed up this looks? 🤔 A car speeding away from agents shouldn't warrant being shot multiple times - that's not self-defense, that's a clear case of excessive force 💪.

And what's even more worrying is the fact that Rep. Ilhan Omar and others are calling out these policies for creating fear among immigrant communities 👥. We need to be talking about how to build trust and respect between law enforcement and our communities, not just sweep this under the rug 🚫. This incident highlights the need for transparency and accountability in our government's actions 💡. We need to keep pushing for change! 💪

omg, this is so messed up 😱 like what kinda training do they need to know how to handle a situation without taking someone's life? Renee Nicole Good wasn't even armed and just trying to protect herself, her vehicle became the weapon 🚗💥. and now we got politicians calling out DHS for their version of events, it's time for some serious accountability 🔒. this is exactly why we need stricter laws and better community policing, so innocent lives aren't lost over immigration policies.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this whole thing 🤯. I mean, can't you just film them from a safe distance and not try to block their way? It's like they expected someone to be all aggressive towards them. And now Renee is dead because of it 💔. I don't get why the agents said she was trying to run them over when eyewitnesses say otherwise 🤷‍♀️. It just seems like another example of how these raids can go horribly wrong. We need to be careful about who we trust and how we're policed, especially in communities that are already scared and vulnerable 😬. And what's with all the Trump connections? Is this really just a coincidence or is it part of some bigger issue? 🤔
